Quiet
It was quiet today. Too quiet. Why was it so quiet? Oh right.
Starscream wasn't there.
Megatron didn't care though. He didn't care that they abandoned him. He would find his way back. Right now Megatron would enjoy the quiet and maybe with an upcoming battle he may even get a victory for once.
A little while later....
The battle was going terribly. The only one to blame would be.....who? Himself? No of course he wasn't the problem it was the rest of the idiots he was in charge of. Yeeeessss, that was it. Maybe it was Demolisher. Or Thrust.
Before he could make a decision a loud CRASH echoed throughout the cavern as a giant metal object fell. Everything went silent as the battle stopped. Minicons on both sides and the humans that the Autobots decided to ally with all looked at each other. Megatron was closer than Optimus and investigated. When he looked at the metallic mass before him, Megatron realized it was a Cybertronian.
A seeker in fact.
It couldn't be him though. He...
Megatron couldn't finish the thought as he realized those colors are familiar. He turned the body over to see the frozen terror of Starscream's face. His final moments. The destroyed chassis and missing spark were proof of that. He gently picked up Starscream although Starscream could no longer feel anything let alone pain.
"Megatron?"
"Megatron sir?"
He turned to see Demolisher and Optimus. There was only one thing he could say right now.
"We're going back to the ship."
The ship was quiet now. It was going to stay that way. No arguments. No rants. Just quiet. The only sound was the whispers. The Decepticons were now afraid to speak lest they set off their leader. One name was now forbidden. One name they used to speak ill of until the discovery of his body and the ones that dared to besmirch said name were violently silenced and sent to the medbay.
Megatron was silent most days speaking when he needed to. Or when he needed to hand out discipline. He visited his seeker often even though Starscream could not say a word of thanks.
Starscream was gone and he was never coming back.
