The main character in the game is yandere and a stalker. he tracks down not only his beloved, but also the victims in order to get rid of them. ALTHOUGH CYCLONUS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A STRAIGHT YANDERE IN HIS MIND, he rather protected tailgate very strangely. (if you imagine that in the events of tfo, when Tailgate wakes up (which I really hope!!) and if he meet Cyclonus, Cyclonus will begin to unknowingly protect Tailgate from other deceptions in the first place.) Well, okay, I'm tired of writing

Cyclonus absolutely will see his actions as protection, but I wouldn't go so far as to have him actually kill the people threatening Tailgate(little guy is a racing celebrity, so there are bound to be weirdos and death threats), but to rough them up just enough that they need severe medical assistance.

With the decepticons, he'll DEFINITELY be a lot less subtle about protecting Tailgate from them, mainly due to Tailgate being an autobot.

The funny thing is is that Cyclonus probably doesn't even think of himself as a stalker, lol.
