He's got your meds on a schedule, always checking in on your pain level with an easy-going joke to take your mind off things. He helps you to sleep when the discomfort is too distracting, telling a vague story while gently rubbing your arms soothingly until you doze off in his arms sitting straight up. He made sure his schedule was cleared to be available by your side that whole first week, carefully packing you into his car to drive you to your first follow up.
