Sorry to bring us back to this, but I now firmly believe that Eurus is Sherlock’s inner self, considering “Holmes” means island or one residing on an island. This episode was undoubtably showing the inner workings of Sherlock’s mind-it explained how isolated he felt, and that he only felt that he could let in his brother and his flatmate, John. It showed the viewer that he feels controlled by his more intellectual and less feeling side. Also: between this and TAB, the viewer is shown how Sherlock feels like he is cold, calculating, and destructive, and how John was the only one who could break that, as he is the one that turns around the waterfall scene in TAB and ultimately allows for Moriarty’s waterfall-death, but how John is now in the same place as Sherlock (in deep water; or so Sherlock thinks, at least), and how Sherlock thus feels like he needs to control his inner demons by himself... He does this by learning to accept himself. Lestrade says that Sherlock is a good man at the end of TFP because he has finally learned how to reconcile his colder side with himself and Sherlock now finally believes himself to be a good man, and not one who steals, kills, and destroys. Also: you could add to this analysis by looking at the fact that Eurus was under the care of Mycroft, who delegated these duties to others... Mycroft has always felt so responsible for his little brother, but time and time again kept him at arm’s length. It was only when he decided to look into Sherrinford for himself (when he heard that things had gone awry, aka when he heard that Sherlock had gone off course and gotten himself and / or others into trouble) that he was willing to die for his brother and his brother’s happiness (as he came to understand who Sherlock really was, and how he was being hurt so much by the colder persona that Mycroft helped him to create) and that Sherlock was finally able to, with Mycroft’s support, come to terms with his inner demons and accept himself.
Note: is it possible that TFP was from the perspective of John, Sherlock, AND Mycroft? Although it wouldn’t play along with the typical Sherlock storyline, it would allow for the viewers (well, at least those who delve into it a bit) to get on the same page about where each character stands in relation to one another. Think of it in terms of a novel instead of a TV show; all the analyzing that we do about Sherlock is the literal equivalent of what is done in an English class. Quite frequently, novel writers will use symbolism to allow for the reader to understand the emotional context of the scene or the piece as a whole. Could Mofftiss have been presenting us with an English-class-style TV episode? I don’t see why not.

I apologize...
I apologize if anything I have ever said / posted in these last few weeks has been hurtful and / or harmful to any of you. As many of you guys know, I'm a huge TJLCer and I believe very strongly and firmly that the two of them do care about and love each other deeply. I believe that, on the 29th of January, Sherlock series four episode four will air, and I hope to goodness that it will be the instigation of canon Johnlock. I feel that Mofftiss has (have?) been queerbaiting throughout a large majority of this show, and I'm very passionate about the fact that that is simply wrong and largely inexcusable, given how much pain and anxiety the lack of canon Johnlock has brought upon the Sherlock fandom (well, I guess just on the TJLCers). I do believe that they need to understand that what they have done is wrong and hurtful, but I do not believe that we should be plotting revenge on them. I recognize that, by not allowing for canon Johnlock, Moftiss is (are?) spreading representation of asexuality; however, I also feel that Sherlock is shown pining after John way too much to consider him to be asexual. (Note: I think it's also possible that he's asexual and homoromantic). That being said, I realize that a lot of the content out for TJLCers right now can be very hurtful to non-TJLCers and / or can be quite anxiety-inducing for anyone. I realize that I may have or may still be reposting or even creating posts such as these, and I would just like to say, in a huge, resounding voice, I am so sorry if this is the case. Please, please let me know if anything that I have said or posted has come off as hurtful to you and your health, the show's creators / cast, and / or to pretty much anyone. Yes, I care about this show, and I care about TJLC, and I especially care about LGBTQIA+ representation (partially because I'm bi), but above all of that, I care about you guys and your mental health. You guys are more important than any of this. So, if I have ever posted anything hurtful, please please please please please let me know, and I would just like to let you know in advance that I am so incredibly sorry.
