#johnlocked

A lot of people only talk about them when shipping them with Gangle. They're also the least popular main human along with Ragatha. However both characters have really dedicated fanbases, especially Ragatha, so does it count as johnlocked if the character still has a distinct fanbase?

For a while now — several months or so — I've been collecting really old posts of Johnlock and Sherlock content from the early 2010's, back when the show was still running and at it's peak. It's been great fun, but I've noticed that so many of the blogs are deleted or have been inactive for years. I was only able to find the beautiful old fan art, fan edits, first few metas/fan theories, and Setlock gifs or pictures from the time via crawling through long reblog chains. They were sadly quite hard to find, but very much worth it as I feel they are an important part of our fandom's history. I don't want them to be lost to time in the ever expanding Tumblrverse, and I fear that may genuinely happen because half of this old content is very poorly tagged! Making it even harder to find!

So I've decided to become a bit of an archive of sorts. From now on I'll be rebloging these seemingly forgotten fan creations with proper tags to bring them back to light, and hopefully thus less likely to disappear or become unheard of for newer fans. I'll try not to spam post too much, but I hope all my fellow Sherlockians will enjoy the time capsule.

The game is on!

- Sherlock asks John on a date but John doesn’t realize he’s actually asking him on a date so Sherlock ruins John’s date with a woman instea- wait no no I think BBC did that already

- Okay how about this. John and Mary are getting married and Sherlock is best man, so he shows up and holds a heartwarming speech for John but ends up leaving the wedding early because he’s hurt. Wait. Sounds familiar.

- WELL OKAY how about Sherlock and John are handcuffed to each other running from the police, and since they’re both tied to each other, Sherlock asks John to take his hand and- NO fuck that’s been done already hasn’t it

And then I realized:

NO ONE READS THAT CRAP ANYWAY!

Nope. If it’s not a fic on Ao3 no one cares and even if it’s there I don’t have much of an audience. I posted chapter two of “There Weren’t Many Mammoths” and got under 100 hits. I posted that it was going to be a Choose Your Own Ending. No one cared. So why waste the friggin time? So. I deleted chapter two. I haven’t been able to pick up any Shassie lines since. Read a huge fic about Jedtavius. Started a fic on that. But the idea that it’s never gonna be read made me put it down. I have an original zombie novella (it’s not a book but it’s getting bigger than a short story) started. I have enough Xx3 scenes that I could make a book if I ever finished half of them. I’ve got an original Incubus-like half man that lures gay male cheaters to their deaths and I named it SCum Sucker.

I’ve got Kylux Modern Business AU, and Kylux as Stardust (Kylo is the star… Hux is trying to get (kill) him to prove himself. The other chasers are the other Knights of Ren looking for a leader and the witches are just Snoke), I’ve got ummm a Tomarry story started. Lumione started. Loki whump. I have an idea for a Johnlocked piece that started as a Shassie story but they didn’t want to do it and John volunteered so Sherlock came with. I’ve got so many characters and things in my head that I wish I could just get out onto paper!

And then I realize that I don’t really care if I read what I’m writing. I want others to read it. I want people to tell me which lines I should abandon because it’s stupid or which to follow because they could be interesting. I want feedback to tell me if it really is all just a waste of time or if anyone else could be interested.

I have too many brain squirrels. I need help narrowing down which ones are worth luring and trapping and which I need to just … well. My gram would drown them in the basement sink, but she was weird. I dunno.

Is anyone out there?

Well, we already know that John had hallucinations of Mary after she died. He could see her and he even talked to her.

Now, I'm more than sure that the same thing happened after Sherlock's Fall.

Oh boy, I feel like this should've been the plot for S3 😭
