Hello tumblr. Hello studyblr.
It’s been a while. I remember starting this studyblr of mine to record down my journey as a university student studying art/design in Singapore... and well, that plan was played out during my freshman year - and not that well, I might add. Amazing work, Justinne.
Fast forward to 2020, and I find myself a graduate with a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Product Design. And now I’ve got the tough task of any fresh graduate: finding a job. But also, during a pandemic. What an incredible year to graduate in aye. I’ve been updating my website portfolio, editing my resumé for numerous times now and writing lots of cover letters for various companies. I know that many people would say that I shouldn’t be picky with my choice of companies to apply to, but I must say, graduating in 2020 has really highlighted a lot of things regarding how I’d want to navigate through my post-grad life.
As an artist, I value self-expression. As a designer, I value my role as a contributor to the society. And with all the movements and various voices speaking out across the globe, I hope I could also play my part as a POC artist/designer. What a joy it would be to find a company/organisation/studio whose values and vision align with mine.
Alright, I guess it’s back to researching for companies and writing cover letters.
(also, I do hope I can be more consistent in documenting my uni life, so here’s to trying again. gonna be digging up old photos and posting them on my studyblr!)
