Your legs shook with every step, silently praying in your own mind that it wasn't noticeable you pushed forward. Your co-workers just watched you be put through the wringer and barely manage to defend yourself for a mistake that hadn't even been yours.
The man responsible for the error was currently being chewed out by none other than 'holier than thou" Steven Rogers. You're absolutely sure the shock soaring through your body was evident as you press your back as far against the wall as you can, silently wishing you could phase through the drywall.
"If I ever catch you, or one of your staff shifting blame to one of Starks analysts again, I'll have Shield wipe your identity off the face of this planet and station you in Siberia. You hear me, son?"
Captain America wasn't screaming but he was definitely loud enough that all of your co-workers could hear, their eyes away from the avenger and to stare at you.
It was too much you couldn't handle it, speed walking to the bathroom you'd locked the door behind you. Pacing back and forth trying to calm yourself down. You're fine, fine, perfectly fine, you did nothing wrong- get over it. Taking another deep breath you stop before the mirror, tears spilling from your eyes- you force yourself to make eye contact with your reflection. Get it together. You tell yourself out loud, glaring at your double.
Moving you rip off some shreds of paper towel, bundling it up and running it under the cold sink water. Squeeze, and press. You bring the damp cloth up to your under eyes, looking up and patting the swelling down as best you can. Another set of breaths later, getting yourself somewhat together you unlock and swing the door open-
-you're met with Captain Rogers’s concerned face, a hand raised in the air ready to knock. Your breath is caught in your throat, you can see as the man's sharp jaw clenches.
"I'd like to apologize for the commotion I've caused earlier today."
"It wasn't your fault"
"It wasn't your either' he retorts. 'I just wanted to make sure you knew that."
"I know, Sir." His brows furrow at the comment.
"Please it's Steve, I'd like to walk you to your vehicle later tonight if that’s okay with you?"
"Are you sure?" An avenger walking you to your car, isn't that a little... beneath him?
"Yes please, it's the least I could do after making a martyr out of you."
"Okay, yes Si- Steve."
At the day's end, Steve leaned you his arm, escorting you to the garage, the two of you shared a few chuckles as he described stories of life with the avengers.
"So, this is me. Thank you so much, Captain Rogers, I can't emphasize how much you didn't have to do this."
"It was my pleasure."
He had still yet to let go of you his eyes running over your worn down and rusted hatchback. It was safe... Just old... And maybe a little shakey on left turns.
"Captain."
"Sorry, peach. Can I pry, do you really drive this home every night?"
"Well not really, I normally take the subway but if I come need to come in a bit earlier I take the car."
"You come in early and still stay this late, it's dark out?" He addresses poignantly.
"Yeah, it's not ideal but my apartment complex has a good security network."
You try to offer him a smile, to assure him of your safety, when he manages to look back at you, those blue eyes swim with concern.
"The tower is safe, I know damn well Tony has an extra room you could stay in. Would you consider it?"
"Mr. Rogers I-"
"Steve."
"Steve, sorry. Mr. Stark is my boss, I'm not sure that's the best idea."
"Please he owes me more than enough favors, I know Nat and you have lunches together sometimes if you're not comfortable alone I'm sure she'd let you stay with her, besides Wanda's been whining about meeting you for weeks."
It's probably not the best idea, a whole manner of things could go wrong, but that look on Steve's face... Saying no to him would feel like kicking a puppy dog.
"If...you're sure. Then yes, I've skipped out on plans with Natasha a bit more than I'd like to recently, so maybe this will be good for us."
His smile brightens the deeply lit walls of the sub-garage, he extends his elbow out to you to yet again grasp onto. Once your fingertips are safely secured in the crook of his arm the both of you begin to walk back to the steel elevator doors.
"So. Does Hawkeye really live in the vents?"
Steve laughs through his nose turning his head away trying to conceal his reaction, "No, well- he doesn't live on the vents. He just spends a lot of time there."
"Персик Jarvis told us Steve was bringing you up what's wrong?".
"Jarvis?"
"Tony's personal a.i- I'll aquatint you to it later. What happened?"
You look back to Steve who was no longer there, quickly having left the scene to find Stark. Nat's hands rubbed up and down your shoulder comfortingly as you brought your attention back to her.
"Captain Rogers had concerns about me making it home safely, he asked me to stay in the Tower for the night"
Her brows drew together in thought as she processed the information "Well alright then. Let's get you situated, would you rather stay with me or one of the guest rooms?"
"If I can stay with you, I'd like that," you tell her as she escorts you through the foyer, in the brighter light of the common room floor you stood stunned (other than the incessant picking and fidgeting at your own fingers.) The room was compromised of superheroes living normally and comfortably with each other.
Tony and Steve stood off to the side discussing the parameters of your stay, A long blonde-haired god had also been sitting in the kitchen, partially listening in on the conversation and partially paying attention to the Scarlett Witch.
The woman in question seemed to have a third sense as Nat lead you into the room, hopping up from her barstool seat rushing over to the two of you.
"It's so nice to meet you! We've all heard so much of you."
"Really?" You question looking back at your friend.
"Partially from Tony, Pepper, and I- partially Clint spying on us."
"He was spying on us? He likes good coffee and sits at the back of the restaurant we go to for lunch."
"Were you ever going to tell me?"
"It was more of a precautionary detail, I didn’t want to alarm you without cause."
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Scarlett." You say to the brunette woman with a nod. She looks at you for a second before small giggles escape her mouth. "Please that's just the name I'm given in the press. My real name is 'Wanda."
"My apologies!"
"No worries, you ver very respectful about it."
The three of you fell into an easy groove, as well as a silly debate sparked by Wanda, claiming she'd steal you from your closest friend.
Your eyes kept drifting to the back of the room, Tony's agreeable nodding to Steve's hand movements. Panning across the room, your eyes connected with the giant of a man, god? Who had been looking in your direction, your eyes met and widened you quickly averted your gaze back to the floor by Natasha's feet. Taking a second to reel from the contact.
"So precious peach has finally decided the grace the upper floors with her presence." Your boss’s voice rang in your ears as he addressed you.
"Sorry for the drop in Mr. Stark, Captain Rogers insisted."
"Well no harm done, Pepper's been trying to get you up here for years. Guess all it took was a 6ft something action figure." He cocked his brow motioning to Steve, drink still in hand as he does so.
Startled at the accusation you jump to defend yourself-
"No! T-that’s not- I didn't." The words stumbled out of your mouth and Natasha puts a hand on your shoulder.
"Персик he's teasing. C'mon, I have some clothes of yours you sent over for Wanda when she first moved in."
The two girls lead you away from the male-dominated space, you peer back to Rogers and he offers you a tight-lipped smile as your ushered away.
"Thank you by ze way, Pierto I'm sure will thank you for the men's clothing if you run into him."
"It was no bother- I owned more than enough and when Natty mentioned you two were moving in without anything I figured you could use some stuff before Tony and Pepper get you settled."
"Natty?"
"Don't you dare."
"Oh, no, no, you are never living this down, Natalia!"
The girls did a great job helping you feel safe in the tower, to the point all three of you essentially dog piled in Natasha’s bed for the night, she's probably the closest friend you've made since working for Stark, treating you more like a sister than anything.
Hours later your eyes seem to flutter open on their own, it's still dark outside as the sleep shakes from you.
As carefully as you possibly can you untangle yourself from your place on Nat's chest, stealing a pair of her slippers you migrate to the common room. It seems no one's there this time of night, the self-sustaining tower is still lit up much like all the other buildings littering the night’s sky.
Quietly you settle yourself down on one of the luxurious couches, pressing deep into the cushions. You lay your head back, neck-craning. You can't be sure just how long you say this way but a deep jovial voice rouses you from the position.
"Was it not a plentiful night for you either?"
Your head snaps the Norse god standing in the doorway,
"I don't know if plentiful, is the way to describe it...but I couldn't sleep very well, no."
He offers you this look, it's almost reminiscent of a puppy dog smile. It's almost strange to see him so... Relaxed? He's this huge avenger- a god, but here he stands before you in gray sweatpants and a... Captain America hoodie?
The laugh bubbles up in your throat, maybe it's your sleep-deprived mind getting to you, Thor watches all this happen as he hesitantly makes his way to the couch as well.
"I'm- so sorry!" The loud whisper burns from your throat, "I just didn't expect to see the shield on you."
He looks again questioningly, now down at his own attire, like he hadn't even noticed when he dressed. His smile grows wider in acknowledgment.
"Ha! Yes, Rogers and I once had a bit of a mix-up! We never really switched back, he still has mine as far as I know."
"Well, you two are the longest-haired blondes I'm sure the fans mistake you both for each other a lot."
He let out another rumbling laugh, moving closer for you to lean against his broad shoulder.
"I think, that is an improbable scenario."
"Why?"
"Well, we all have those that... Prefer some of us over the others. Roger's can be quite a bit aggressive."
"I can't imagine him not discouraging that."
"No, he does, he's quite good about it, but that doesn't stop them nonetheless."
A yawn manages to escape you, feeling weightless as Thor lets you snuggle into him.
"Well, what about you?"
"Hmm, what about me?"
"Are you fans as aggressive?"
"No, not at all. I fear... I fear I'm not always enough for them, it's been said by quite a few I should have done better to keep Loki off of Midgard."
"Oh Thor that's not your fault, you can't control anyone's actions but your own."
"I'm sure this is true, but at times it is difficult to believe. There are those who argue I should have known better and realized my brother was not entirely himself, and the others who say I should have stopped him from ever escaping."
"Well, both of those are stupid if you ask me. You've done great things on your own, and you shouldn't let others tell you differently."
"Thank you, it seems foolish but it's nice to be heard out at times."
"It's not foolish, everyone likes to be validated." It's the last thing you manage to say to the god, his arm pillowing you as you fall deeper into sleep, eyes fluttering shut. The blonde’s breathing is the last thing you hear.

You and Steve had both done every test known to every male and female fertility specialist in the United States, along with several European countries, Japan, China, and Australia. Every single one, for each of you, pointed to the same thing – infertility.
Persistent infertility. As in, the both of you are not only infertile, but will continue to be infertile despite any type of treatments any type of doctor wants to put you through. Steve doesn’t qualify for experimental treatments, and you’ve tried at least five to no avail.
Long story short, neither of you can have biological children.
The problem is, you both really want biological children. But, according to biology, it just isn’t going to happen.
“Science says so,” the last doctor had told you, voice full of apology. “I’m so sorry.”
That particularly heartbreaking appointment was in the late afternoon, but the battery of tests meant you and your husband were stuck in the shitty doctor’s office until long past when the sun had set. You were grateful how dark it was when you left, terrified some Captain America stan or paparazzi would get a high definition picture of both you with puffy faces along with snot and stray tears still running down your face. It was late when you got back to your secluded high rise, neither of you hungry nor willing to feign it enough to order something. You didn’t know about Steve, but the sadness had somehow overwhelmed every single one of your senses – making your taste buds pointless and limbs numb. Silently, the both of you got ready for bed and held each other as emotional exhaustion acted as a second weighted blanket and lulled you both to sleep.
It was the next morning when you thought of what you had dubbed “the plan.” You had gotten up before Steve (unusual, as you’d been together long enough that wallowing in self pity was a shared activity) and sat at the kitchen table with unbrushed teeth, messy hair, and the sort of determination that comes with a self-reflexive ultimatum: if “the plan” didn’t work, you’d stop trying. You’d tell Steve that you’ve come to terms with your inability to conceive and continue your journey to start from the assumption that there was nothing either of you could do to make it happen. It’s a heartbreaking reality, but it was one you were willing to accept.
It took a few days to work up the courage, to find the right time to broach the idea with the man you chose to spend the rest of your life with. The perfect moment ended up being when you were both eating dinner, Steve telling a story about something ridiculous Peter had done on a mission (turns out, flirting with a fellow agent undercover as a full service sex worker is not a good idea). You were both happy, incredibly so, and you knew whenever your husband talked about the kid it ignited the special light inside of him that wanted to be a father.
It was the tail end of the story, he was two beers down (a special mix Tony had concocted that balanced with Steve’s serum-induced metabolism), and he was happy. So with a deep inhale and sustained eye contact, you rambled with your prepared speech that covered a few of concerns you knew Steve would have and informed him of your personal deal.
You finished quickly – words tumbling out of your mouth before you knew they were being spoken. Your heart beat loudly in your chest, blood rushed to your ears. You were terrified.
That was, until Steve gave his reply a few hours later.
(He asked if he could table the conversation for a little while, wanting to “think it over.” Of course you told him it was okay, especially since you knew there was dessert still waiting to be eaten in the fridge, and you were still very hungry.)
You imagined a lot of responses from your husband, the worst of which sounded like the beginning of a particularly sad Shonda Rhimes television show:
“You want to what?” Steve nearly screams. “You want to invite Thor Odinson in our marriage bed so that we can have a child!? No! I won’t allow it!”
You fall to the ground, sobbing, clutching your phone as you scream back. “I want what’s best for us! For our family! For our future child!”
Steve storms out of the bedroom, turning back to your crumbled figure just before stomping out. “I’m calling a divorce lawyer. I want you out by Monday.”
You expected you’d have to convince him, would have to coax his clenched jaw towards your face so he’d know how serious you are from the look in your eyes. Maybe you’d have to wait days, weeks, months before he’d agree, would have to have long conversations with him and his colleague about negotiations and boundaries and whatever else.
What you didn’t expect was for Steve to agree not only immediately, but enthusiastically.
“T-that’s it?” you asked. You both were in bed, reading separate books before you’d each turn off the lights and go to sleep. He was reading something about battle tactics during Vietnam while you were thumbing through a book about the history of swearing.
Steve did not look up from his novel. “You want to have a threesome with Thor in the hopes it’ll give us a baby?”
You looked to him, brow furrowed. “Yeah?”
Now he puts the book down and turns to you. “The worst thing that happens is we have sex with a literal deity?”
At first you think he’s joking but, nope. He’s serious.
“Uh, yeah,” you reply again.
Steve shrugs before going back to his book. “Then yeah, but you have to call him.”
You blink a few times – shocked. Pleasantly shocked, but still shocked. “That’s…a deal. Yeah. I can, I’ll talk to him.”
Steve smiles, turning back to you once more and giving you a peck on the cheek. “Sounds good, babe. Let me know what he says.”
You nod, still a little surprised. “O-of course.”
With that, the conversation ends, and you need to figure out how to contact the man in question.
The next morning, you learn from the detailed calendar Tony’s assistant keeps that Thor’s on Migard for the rest of the month, doing…whatever. Honestly, you have no idea what he’s doing, and – even more honestly – you don’t care. Short of saving an entire population from destruction, you’re sure he can make time for you.
Luckily you find him easily, watching some reality show about weird white people in the living room of a common floor. You take deep breaths for stepping into eyeshot, asking if you can sit next to him (he says yes) before you start what is likely the most uncomfortable conversation of your life.
Somehow, though, Thor beats you to it. “If you want me to help you and Steve conceive, just tell me the date and time you want me in your bed.”
Even more so than when Steve accepted your recent proposal, you’re surprised by Thor’s forwardness. “Um-“
Thor smiles, putting a comforting arm around your shoulders before pulling you close against him. “Listen, I’ve done this with many families on many planets. I’ve never done it on Earth, but I’m willing to give it a try for you two. You deserve a child, and I’d be happy to help with that.”
You wipe a stray tear before allowing yourself to be enveloped into Thor’s massive arms. “Thank you,” you tell him after your heart had stopped beating at your ribs as if they were boxers going for the championship title. “Thank you so much.”
You feel Thor smile against the side of your head. “Of course, anything for you.”
You return to Steve with your findings, who agrees to set it up for the next night. The few hours before the mythical man is scheduled to arrive are an otherworldly combination, as if you had put giddy excitement, gut-wrenching fear, and determined optimism in a Nutribullet with bananas and strawberries and vanilla Greek yogurt and served it with-
“Honey, he said we both have to eat before,” Steve pulls the breaks on your train of thought, nudging your plate of food towards you with a small smile. “I’ve known you for long enough to know what you overthinking and forgetting to eat looks like.”
You nod and sigh, biting into the seasoned steamed vegetables. “Sorry, I-“
Steve shakes his head, swallowing whatever from his plate he was chewing. “I’ve also known you long enough to not need you to explain. Just eat.”
He’s right, you think as you clear your plate. You’ve known Steve for over a decade, dating for nine of them and married for seven. He met you through Natasha, who knew you from your work as a professor studying the differing effects of veterans and civilians (how she found you is still a mystery) and invited you to a conference that Stark was funding and therefore required the Avengers to make an appearance. He knew everything about you, and you knew everything about him.
For the first time in a long time, you wonder whether that’s a good thing, or a bad one.
When Thor arrives, he directs the two of you with ease, accepting a glass of expensive red wine as he follows you to the expansive bedroom.
He makes you strip first, tells you to lay in the center of the bed with your legs spread over the end and arms at your side. Steve’s next, already half-hard as he takes his position by your head, on his knees so he can watch the show in front of you. He’s naked, erection hard against his chiseled stomach.
“You’re so beautiful,” you tell him, blissed out before anything had ever begun.
He smiles down at you, same look in his eye the same day you got married. “You, too babe.”
Thor lets you have the moment as he undresses himself, letting you wrap a hand around Steve’s cock as he slots himself between your legs.
“Mm,” Thor hums, tracking your every move with a precise eye. “What a pretty cunt you have…”
A deep moan from you cuts him off as he kneels and licks a wide stripe up your dripping center, his large hands moving under your knees to bend your legs to your chest.
“Oh!” you cry, one of your hands moving to clutch his long blonde hair. “Oh that feels so good!”
You can feel Thor smiling into your folds as one of his perfectly calloused fingers slowly enters you, reveling in your now-mindless acceptance of pleasure. “So tight,” he moans. “Can’t wait to feel you around my cock.”
It doesn’t take long for your brain to fry, losing your ability to do anything but moan and sloppily jerk off your husband as Thor begins to fuck two fingers in and out of you at a bruising pace.
Steve watches you intensely, takes over jerking his own dick when you lose control of the muscles in your hands.
Thor scoffs, rolling his eyes you pout when his lips leave you.
“C’mon, love,” he murmurs into your inner thigh. “Don’t neglect the man.”
Nearly panting, you wrap your lips around Steve’s cock while Thor continues eating you out.
“Fuck you’re so good at this,” Steve hisses as you start to gag on him, running your tongue on the underside of his cock.
You do your best to smile as one hand moves to play with his balls, eyes screwing shut as you turn all your attention onto your husband’s cock.
“That feel good?” Thor asks, hand around the base of his cock. He grunts when Steve nods, his head thrown back in ecstasy. “C’mon, Stevie. Tell me how good your wife’s mouth feels on your dick.”
Steve swallows what little spit is left in his mouth before trying to remember how to speak. “It f-feels so good,” he’s breathless, chest straining as he tries not to come. “Wet and t-tight, the best thing I’ve ever felt.”
Thor grunts deep in his chest, as if he’s restraining himself. “Keeping going – and tell me when you’re about to cum.”
Steve moans when he hits the back of your throat, both hands now tangled in your hair. “F-feels so good, like she’s sucking the life out of me through my fucking dick- Oh fuck!”
You’re deep throating him now, breathing through your nose as you gag.
“T-Thor,” he moans, voice strained. “I-I think I’m-“
“Stop,” the man at the end of the bed commands as he continues fucking his fingers in and out of you. Reluctantly, you do as you’re told, ceasing all actions and giving Steve the most pitiful look you can muster.
“C’mere pretty girl,” Thor murmurs, leaving one last kiss at the most sensitive part of you. “It’s time for me to fuck you.”
You and Steve both moan deeply as he lifts himself to his feet and aligns himself with your center – hardened cock bobbing against his stomach. The sight is enough to make your center tighten, skin on fire as you wait for him to gift you reprieve.
“Such a perfect little pussy,” Thor mumbles to no one but himself, grinning wide as he enters you.
Little words are exchanged after that, Thor focusing on the feeling of your cunt instead of talking.
“Oh Thor-“ you moan, pulling away from Steve to throw your head back once more. “Oh shit holy-“
Thor just laughs, leaning down so he can kiss you. He places one hand next to your head for balance, the other moving to jerk Steve’s cock for you. His whole body works like a perfectly build machine, hips and hand working in tandem to get all three of you off. His movements are languid and purposeful, as if each muscle contraction and release was planned long, long ago in some expert fashion.
As Steve moans once again that he’s close, you remember what Thor had told you the day previous – that he had done this for other people attempting to build their families. In an instant, you were struck with the fear that this was somehow mechanical for him, something he was doing out of some sense of duty with half his brain focused on what he was going to have for dinner or what fruit was in season – something mundane and minutely distracting so he could phone it in and take the credit when the pregnancy test came back positive.
Thor notices you’re drifting away, grabs you with one hand and coaxes your eyes to meet his. “Don’t worry about anything, baby,” he tells you, voice low in his chest. “Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
It’s comforting – you can’t describe why, don’t even understand why; but even if you could, Steve’s begging cuts your train of thought short.
“Fuck please,” his voice is high and desperate, anything left of his precious Captain America façade torn to shreds by the possibility of denial. “Please let me come!”
Thor just shakes his head and smiles, putting him through the same torture as he did before but continuing fucking you – ignoring Steve’s cries as he rubs at your clit.
“Ignore him, baby,” he murmurs to you, “C’mon, focus on how good it’s gonna feel when I make you come.”
That’s all it takes for you to lose yourself, to throw your head back and buck your hips up and scream as loud as your exhausted lung will allow. At the last second before you reach your peak Thor moves away from you to grab the back of Steve’s head, pulling the man into a deep kiss.
“Fuck,” Thor groans against Steve’s lips. “Fuck you’re both so gorgeous I’m, fuck, I’m gonna-“
Thor releases himself inside of you with a deafening shout, moaning into Steve’s mouth as his come spills out of you. You’re speechless, watching them kiss above you while you pant.
For a moment there’s silence – the thick scent of sex and the wet sounds of their mouths and your pussy being the only things that fill the air. The only thing that cuts through it is Thor’s gruff voice instructing Steve to take his place between your legs.
The shuffling is awkward but gives you a minute to breathe, the clouds in your brain clearing with a few seconds of being left alone. Unlike Steve, Thor lays next to you on his side, one hand framing your jaw as he kisses you deeply.
Steve takes a moment to admire Thor’s cum dripping out of your pussy, resisting the urge to kneel down and lay his tongue there and drink it all down.
He swallows what little spit is left in his mouth as he enters you, body trembling as his eyes roll to the back of his head. The feeling of your pussy – though familiar – is sublime; mixed with the feeling of Thor’s cum inside of you makes him want to cry from the overwhelming pleasure.
He doesn’t, though, he somehow gets his brain and cock to reconnect so that he can fuck you despite his entire body screaming. You’re sensitive – if Steve couldn’t read your body language, your screaming moans and eyes screwed shut would tell him. It’s a precious thing to see you in such a feral state, to see you fucked out and desperate and begging to be pushed over the cliff again and again and again. You’re normally a very professional woman – always put together and well-spoken and knowledgeable in any subject necessary. To see you incoherent, lost to the pleasure – it’s something special Steve is determined to remember for the rest of his days.
“Such a good boy,” Thor tells him when he notices Steve’s concentration fading. “You fuck your wife so well for me,” he turns to you, leaving a kiss at the corner of your panting mouth. “Doesn’t your husband fuck you so good?”
“Y-yes,” you reply after you take a second to process what he’s asking of you. “Steve’s so good at fucking a baby into me, makes me feel so good I, oh!”
Something in Steve snaps as he listens to Thor, elicits something primal that makes him dig his fingers into the pit of your pushed-up knees as he pounds into you without mercy.
“Gonna-“ Steve moans. “Gonna fuck our baby into you, gonna make sure everyone knows how good I fuck you, fuck!”
Thor just smiles all big and toothy, looking between your face and Steve’s. Just as confident as before, he trails the same hand as before between your breasts and down your stomach, rubbing at your sensitive nub once more.
“You can do it, baby,” he whispers to you, coaxing another orgasm out of you with skilled fingers. “You’re so beautiful, I want to watch you come again. You can do that, right? You can come again for me?”
You shake your head, too overwhelmed to form coherent sentences. “I, I- “
“Shh,” he trails his thumb – still soaked with your slick and his precum – “It’s okay, my little dove. You can do it once more for me and Steve. C’mon, you can do it with him, right?”
You don’t speak, don’t move, don’t do anything – too focused on the feeling of Thor next to you and Steve on top of you and Thor rubbing at your clit and Steve fucking your pussy and the warmed sheets between your fingers and the sweat pooling between your breasts and-
“Fuck!” Steve’s screams mirror your own internal monologue. “Fuck I’m-“
Thor uses the thumb that was just under your lip to grab Steve’s jaw, forcing their eyes to meet just as he had done many times before. “Come for me.”
You and Steve’s orgasms come at the same time, the both of you twitching as you fall slowly, deliriously, from the shared delicious high.
When the French coined folie a duex, you’d always assumed it was about some madness that happened to manifest in two people. But what is defined as “madness?” Could it be the sweet satisfaction that flows through each of your veins like gold? Could it be the vacant contentment behind Steve’s eyes? Could it be the vacant content behind yours?
Somehow, Thor maneuvers the two of you so that all three of you can lay there, out of breath and sweaty all over as each of you stares at separate spots on the ceiling.
You’re the one to break the silence, stuck between the two men in the center of the large bed. “Do you think it worked?”
Steve turns towards you, leaning on one arm while the other spreads itself over your stomach. “I think so.”
Thor turns over next, mirroring Steve’s position. Free hand, though, goes to cup your face, pulling you in for a quick peck on the lips before guiding you to Steve for a much deeper kiss.
“I think so, too,” the large man says eventually, watching as you and Steve remain locked together. He doesn’t think either of you can hear him, but he smiles at the softness on both of your faces nonetheless.
Notes; This is set in the same universe as Iron. There will be mentions to it but so I’ll add it here. But in case you don’t want to read it, reader is a fae. Her, Thor and Steve are in an established relationship.
You’d been on Earth for years. Had relationships with both men and women alike throughout the years but had never allowed yourself to feel the way you did with Thor and Steve. You’d never allowed yourself love any of the others as you allowed yourself to love them.
Perhaps this had something to do with the fact everyone else had abandoned you in your lifetime. Not your boys, they’d gone out of their way to stay.
Perhaps it had something to do with the fact, the others were all mortal and a part of you knew that one day they would all die. But not your boys, your boys were cursed to the same immortal thread you were.
There were a million thoughts that could be the reason but there was only one reason. You were never fully in love with the others. It was different with your boys.
You loved your boys. They loved you. It was easy like that. You didn’t have to pretend to be human, you didn’t have to pretend to be normal. You were able to be you with them and they brought out aspects of your personality you hadn’t seen in years and some you didn’t know you even had.
The world was not as dark a place with your boys. They’d brought a light back to you and the world around you, something you hadn’t seen or felt in the decades before them.
“Okay, cancel any plans you had for tonight-.” Steve started as he entered the room with three black bags. “What are you two doing?” He questioned, stopping in the doorway with a confused look.
“Reading.” You answered, looking away from your book. “Are you feeling okay, Stevie?” You questioned him, tilting your head to the side.
“Are you feeling unwell, Steven?” Thor questioned him, looking at Steve in concern. “Would you like us to request Banner’s presence?” Steve continued to stare at the two of you in complete and utter confusion as he stuttered out failed attempts of sentences.
“Stop doing that. Both of you. You're either going to kill yourselves or seriously injury yourselves.” Steve said, dropping the bags and rushing towards the both of you.
“I’m not going to break anything.” Thor denied him, floating out of the man’s reach.
“Y/N, stop that. You’re going to give yourself a brain haemorrhage.” Steve fussed, looking at you in worry.
“I’m not even doing anything.” You whined.
“You’re reading a book upside down while floating. Why?” Steve questioned, running a hand down his face.
“I wanted to read; besides it won’t kill me. Worst case is I pass out.” You shrugged.
“And why is Thor floating?” He further interrogated.
“I was bored.” Thor stated, coming closer to you. “And now I’m not.” He smiled, wrapping his arm around you.
“Can you both please come down? You’re going to give me a heart attack.” Steve begged you both.
“What’s in the bags, Stevie?” You questioned, pointing at the discarded bags by the door.
“I’ll tell you if you come down.” Steve bargained with you. You and Thor shared a look and then nodded. You gestured for Thor to hover above the bed before you released the magic, you’d placed on him and then floated down next to him.
“Now do we get to know?” You asked him, folding your wings into your back.
“We’re going out tonight.” Steve announced, picking up the bags. “Tony is throwing a costume party tonight and I thought we could make a date out of it.”
“That sounds like fun.” Thor said.
“Yeah that could be great fun.” You agreed. “What time does it start? Do we have enough time to get costumes?”
“No need.” Steve said, lifting the bags in his hands up. “Tony has graciously decided to provide everyone with costumes.” He said, handing you both a bag.
“Why do I get a bad feeling about this?” You questioned, looking at the bag with narrowed eyes.
“Because it’s a gift from Tony.” Steve sighed.
“I don’t understand why the two of you are so worried. I think it’s a marvellous idea and who does not enjoy a surprise?” Thor questioned, eagerly unzipping the bag. You and Steve followed suit and opened your bags with slight trepidation.
Steve pulled out a green hat, Thor pulled out an acorn styled one and you pulled out a green dress.
“I’m going to kill him.” You stated.
“Look who’s here!” Tony cheered, raising his drink towards the three of you.
“Look it’s a dead man.” You responded in fake cheer.
“A dead man? No, I am Batman, you uncultured swine.” Tony mock gasped, handing you a drink.
“And Batman couldn’t pick anything better than Tinkerbell?” You grumbled, taking a long sip of your drink.
“I think I chose well. The three of you look great.” Tony said.
“See, my loves, I told you there was nothing to worry about.” Thor boomed, drinking out of the flask he’d brought.
“I guess it could have been worse.” Steve admitted, taking a sip out of Thor’s flask.
“Oh yes it could.” You laughed, turning the boys towards the entrance. In walked Clint in a Robin Hood outfit complete with plastic bow and tights. “Jesus Christ Tony.”
“Hey, I gave him real pants, just like I did with your boys. Not my fault he chose the tights.” Tony said, raising his hands in innocence.
“Nice pants, Robin.” You smirked as Clint reached you all.
“Don’t start. Natasha’s already said every joke you can imagine.” He groaned, grabbing a drink.
“That’s because you look ridiculous.” Natasha smirked, quickly popping up behind him. Natasha actually looked quite happy with her outfit and glided over to the five of you with pep in her step. Tony had chosen well for Natasha giving her a Black Swan, Natasha was even wearing a pair of pointe shoes.
“Rude.” Clint grumbled as the rest of you laughed.
“I’m going to get another drink.” You said, kissing both boys. The party had been going for a few hours at this point and most of the guests were very drunk. The three of you had taken refuge on one of the large couches in the back, content on enjoying each other’s company and merely watching the drunken antics of the guests.
“Hurry back little fae.” Thor implored as you pulled apart.
“Of course.” You smiled and made your way to the bar. As you grabbed your drink you took a moment to lean against the bar and jut watch your boys for a minute. Steve had had a bit too much drink and was leaning against Thor, who had his arm wrapped around Steve’s waist.
“What’s got you thinking so hard?” Clint questioned you, sliding up next to you.
“I’m not thinking that hard.” You denied him.
“Yes, you are. When you start thinking really hard, you get a crease right here.” Cling said, poking you in the forehead with his plastic bow.
“Stop it.” You laughed, knocking him with your elbow.
“Seriously, what’s on your mind, Tink?” Clint asked you again, throwing an arm around your shoulders.
“Just, just realizing I never thanked you, Clint.” You said, looking over at him with a soft smile.
“Thanked me? Thanked me for what?”
“For this life. For saving me all those years ago and for being my friend. It’s because of you I have this life and this family. It’s because of you Clint, I have my boys. Thank you, Clint.”
“The good scotch always makes you a bit sentimental, doesn’t it?” Clint said, making you laugh heartily.
“Yeah it really does.” You chuckled, resting you head against Clint’s shoulder as he pulled you closer. “But I still meant it.”
“You don’t need to thank me, Y/N. Trust me when I say, you deserve this. You deserve this family and you definitely deserve those two.” Clint said, squeezing your shoulders. “Speaking of them, I think you’re being missed.” He added, pointing across the room.
Looking up you immediately turned to where you boys sat and saw your boys watching you. Steve raised the flask as Thor gestured you over.
“I’ll see you later, Clint.” You smiled, quickly kissing his cheek before flitting off to the boys. “Well hello to you too, Peter.” You giggled as Steve pulled you down onto his lap. “You’re in a touchy mood, aren’t you?”
“You both just look so good tonight.” Steve murmured, tracing his fingers around the base of your wings. A loud purr like hum escaped your throat as Steve touched the sensitive base surrounding your wings.
“Perhaps we should take Steve upstairs. Help him lie down.” Thor suggested.
“I think that’s a fantastic idea, hon.” You smiled, standing and pulling the two to their feet.
“We could go to that gallery tomorrow.” Steve suggested. “You know, the one that opened up near Beanies?”
“Yeah and we can get coffee after.” You agreed. “Hair tie.” You said, holding a hand towards Thor. “And maybe coffee before.” You continued.
“I agree with that plan.” Thor said as you tied his hair off. “Coffee sounds a fantastic addition to our date.”
“I don’t know how you two can drink so much coffee.” Steve said, taking the hair tie you offered him.
“It wears off too fast to do any real damage to our systems.” You assured him, turning and kissing him quickly. “Just like how your system burns off the liquor so quickly.”
“I don’t care how quickly it burns off, it still makes me feel like shit.” Steve complained as the three of you all shifted so you were laying down in the bed.
“You’ll feel better in the morning.” Thor promised him. “And if not we’ll make the pot extra strong.”
“Let’s do that anyway. The morning is going to be rough either way.” You grumbled, curling into further into the boys warmth.
“Get some sleep, if you’re still sore in the morning we’ll run you a bath with one those bath bombs you love so much.” Steve promised you, pressing a kiss onto your temple.
“You love them too you giant.” You mumbled, pressing your face into Thor’s chest. “I love you two. My giants.”

Aesthetic Prompt (made by @until-theend-oftheline)
“There she is.” Steve mutters quietly. His hands clench into tight fists as he watches you move into the quaint coffee shop.
This is his favorite spot. He comes here every chance he gets and spends a few precious hours scribbling and doodling in his secret sketch journal. He doesn’t have it with him today. For good reason, too. Today is for business.
Thor looks up from his spot across from Steve and watches as his eyes light up as you wave over at them. Thor smirks, finding it all very adorable that Steve seems to be perpetually unable to see what’s right in front of him.
Thor can see it in the way his cheeks flush lightly and the sudden blue sparkle in his eyes. The Captain is so into you and he doesn’t even realize it.
You shove your umbrella into the wooden stand then move towards the two largest men in the small converted brownstone. A hot spot for the young men and women in the area which you definitely qualify as, the coffee shop has a comfy atmosphere. All the fixtures, counters, tables, and chairs are mismatched chocolate brown woods. Some chairs do have cushions, and these are always taken first thing in the morning.
Steve avoids those tables anyway. They’re at the center where the hustle and bustle of the constant crowd streaming in and out gets annoying. He’d learned his lesson when his elbow had been bumped several times, ruining a few of his sketches. He prefers the table at the far back of the shop where he can both look out at the falling rain and keep an eye on the door to see who comes and goes. And in this corner, away from the free books to read and the self-serve treats, Steve can sit for hours undisturbed, half hidden small shelving of books for sale.
His favorite table has four, what looks like hollowed out tree trunks for seats. They’ve been sanded down and varnished but the natural wood is beautiful, and he likes the way the lines swirl. These are also the only seats that he feels are safe for Thor to sit in. The guy is massive.
As you approach the table, adjusting your very worn brown satchel off of your shoulder, you can’t help but smile at the contrast between them and the rest of the young patrons. The two men who look at you with soft smiles do not fit in. One, a 1,500-year-old God and the other a hundred plus year old veteran look slightly out of place.
“Sorry, I know I’m late.” You sigh your apology and settle into the seat to Steve’s right and to Thor’s left. You quickly put your satchel between your feet for security, still wiping at the rain on your red bomber with your free hand. The chill in the air is strong enough that wearing a slightly heavier coat is appropriate. Thor seems to agree with you as he’s wearing his favorite dark red coat too. Steve doesn’t seem to feel the chill because he’s wearing a pair of jeans and a long sleeve, heather gray shirt with the sleeves rolled up to expose his muscular forearms.
You force yourself to look at Thor, wanting to just sit and stare at Steve.
“Not at all. We just got here ourselves.” Thor lies. He looks over at Steve who’s watching you with a furrowed brow.
“Excuse me!” He waves one of the servers over, a pretty redhead with bright green eyes, a heart shaped face, and pouty pink lips. She flushes but hurries over.
It is Steve Rogers calling her over. You’d feel flustered too if you worked here and got called over by Steve Rogers. Of course, you live with him so it’s normal to see him every day. But if you’re honest, even when he calls you over at home, your heart skips a beat when those blue eyes meet yours.
Actually, it kinda upsets you that the waitress stands much too close to him as she reaches your table. He has to pull his arm down into the circle of his chair to keep from grazing her stomach.
“Oh, hi, Steve. I didn’t know you were here today.”
What a liar! You eye her with as neutral a gaze as you can, but you feel the uncomfortable twist of jealousy in your stomach.
“Kate, can we get a few spare towels if you have them?” Steve looks up at her and gives her a smile that might have aimed at being polite but feels a little too flirty for your liking.
This Kate puts her perfectly manicured hand on his right bicep and rubs it with her dainty thumb. “Of course, Steve. I’ll be right back.”
The waitress turns, and leaves and you slump back in your chair an involuntary pout twisting your own lips.
“She was awfully friendly.” You throw at him hoping that he can’t hear the jealousy there.
“Kate? Yeah, she’s great.” Steve smiles at you then turns to look at Thor who sits shaking his head as he frowns at his comrade. “What?”
Thor turns his gaze on you and sits forward, resting his elbows on the smooth wooden table. “I know it’s a little strange to meet out of the compound, but we thought it might be better if we talked about this away from the others. With Tony and Pepper so close to getting married we didn’t want them to worry about some unknown threat.”
Okay, business. You like focusing on business. It helps distract you from the waitress and her stupid manicured hand all over Steve’s bicep.
“When did it arrive?” You ask, serious tone renewed as you concentrate on the task at hand which successfully drives the redhead from your mind.
You lean forward, mirroring Thor’s posture to bring you closer to him so that you can speak low. You don’t want to be overheard.
“A week ago.” Steve says, tapping his fingers against the table.
You look at him and find his blue gaze darkened as he frowns at the woodgrain. If there’s one thing that he hates it when people threaten his friends. The people he cares about? His family? You don’t want to mess with the Avengers. Especially with threats? Steve is no joke when he’s angry. And most people were afraid of Dr. Banner when he got upset.
“Have you told anyone else?” You ask him, wanting so badly to reach out and place your hand over his to settle his fingers.
“We thought it best to keep it between as few of us as possible.” Steve says with a shake of his head.
“We’re not sure where this threat really came from and we don’t want to alarm anyone if it is just someone’s idea of an ill-timed joke.” Thor agrees. “You are the expert when it comes to the forscenic sciences. Is that not right, Captain?”
Steve watches Thor with an amused grin which you also can’t help but share.
“Forensic.” You correct him kindly and Thor clears his throat.
“Is that not what I said?”
“Close enough.” Steve admits and turns the full power of his grin on you.
For a horribly pleasant moment, your heart thumps loudly in your chest as the curve of his smile lights up his face. All darkness cleared from it, you see happy Steve and you want him to stay that way. So, without another thought, you nod.
“I’m in.” You swallow hard, staring at Steve still before you force your eyes away back to Thor. “Where’s the letter?”
“Y/N? Are you sure you want to do this? It could be really dangerous.” Steve says with worry, his happy smile gone, replaced with a small frown as he reaches towards your hand on the table but doesn’t quite reach it.
“Tony and Pepper deserve to have a perfect wedding day. If I can help give them that, then I want in. Besides, no one threatens my family and gets away with it.” Your anger really does bubble up, filling your chest with heat that has nothing to do with how Steve’s hand is only two inches from your own.
His eyes sparkle and he nods at Thor who reaches into his jacket pocket to retrieve the letter but then freezes as Kate returns.
“Here you go, Steve.” She says a little breathless, handing him not one or two but a stack of six dry hand towels.
Steve smiles up at her, much too excited. Why can’t he stop doing that?! Does he smile at all the girls he meets like that?
“Thanks, Kate, you’re a lifesaver.” He gushes.
You turn your gaze away from them and look instead at the empty seat across from you with half a mind to get up and leave. It would be stupid because how the hell is Steve supposed to know that you like him? You haven’t told him. Or anyone for that matter. So, he’d be super confused as to your reason for storming off. But you want to do it. You place your hands on the side of the chair, intent on getting up to leave when you feel a light tug to the left side of your head.
You turn your head towards Steve to see what he’s doing and your heart flips as he sits with the towels carefully balanced on his right thigh while, with one of them in his hands, he carefully pats your hair dry.
“You’ll catch a cold.” He reasons, talking only to you.
“Oh.” Kate mutters.
“Miss?” Some other patron calls.
“Excuse me.” Kate says with slight disappointment.
“Thanks, Kate.” Steve repeats but doesn’t turn to watch her go.
You reach up quickly, nervous and flustered. Your hands find his in the towel and you grab them to stop them from moving. He freezes and looks down at your face, his blue eyes inquisitively boring into your own.
“I can do it.” You assure him, so nervous you’re surprised your voice doesn’t shake.
“Right.” Steve says and quickly takes his hands back but only so that he can place the right on the stack on his lap and his left flat on the table again.
To your left, Thor chuckles. Both you and Steve look at him, nervous as hell.
“What’s so funny?” You demand, freezing in your hair drying.
“Hm? Nothing I just repeated forscenic in my head.” He laughs again and sits back, shaking his head.
You’re not sure if he’s telling the truth. Thor is really good at being sneaky when he wants to be.
Steve also stares at Thor with a furrowed brow.
Intent on moving past the awkwardness you lower the towel onto your lap.
“The letter?” You remind them.
“Right.” Thor says, remembering and once more reaches into his coat’s breast pocket and produces from it a bagged letter and envelope.
“An evidence bag?” You ask, impressed by their forethought.
“I though it might be easier for you to work if we didn’t contaminate it any more than we already did.” Steve explains as he grabs another towel and offers it to you.
You take it but put it in your lap before reaching out for the sealed bag. You lean over it, staring at the careful handwriting and read the threat. It’s simple. Not complicated or contrived. It’s straight to the point.
Felicitations on your happy day. I’m sure it’ll be a bang.
“Felicitations? Who the hell uses the word felicitations these days other than pretentious assholes?” You wonder aloud, disgusted by the threat and the audacity that some people have to try and ruin special days for other people.
Thor looks between you and Steve with shifting electric blue eyes before he very slowly raises his hand. You realize that he would probably use that word. Oops.
“Thor, buddy, come clean and we’ll call it a day.” Steve assures him with a nod.
“I would not threaten my friends on their special day!” Thor defends himself and you try and stifle your laugh, but it bursts from your lips with a slight choking sound.
Steve chuckles.
“I’m sorry.” You reach over and place your hand over Thor’s massive one, gently rubbing it in reassurance. “I didn’t mean to imply that you’re an asshole.”
“Or pretentious?” Thor presses.
But you wrinkle your nose at him, tilting your head from left to right. “Mmmm.”
He huffs at your teasing which only makes you laugh again.
“I’m only kidding, Thor. You’re not pretentious or an asshole. You’re very sweet.” You can’t help but beam at him when his frown relaxes into his soft goofy grin.
“Where the hell is our damn coffee?” Steve suddenly grumbles and waves Kate over again.
He was just laughing. What’s with the mood shift? You watch his face light up again as Kate approaches. “We had three coffees, Kate, can you see what’s taking so long?”
The redhead blanches as she looks down at her tray. “Oh…I’m sorry, Steve. I think I forgot to put the order in. I’ll go put it in right now. I’m so…so sorry. Please forgive me.”
You stare at the redhead, astounded by her distraction with Steve. She’d been staring at him so hard she’d completely forgotten to put the order in? What kind of non-professional…
“It’s alright, Kate.” Steve assures her, his sweetest smile offered as she gives him a small shy smile of her own.
“I really hope that I haven’t ruined your opinion of me.” Kate suddenly throws out, unembarrassed to be making such declarations in front of two other people. One of which is you, a girl who clearly has some kind of personal relationship with him. “I want you to think only good things of me.”
“No harm done. And trust me, Kate, nothing but good things.” He assures her with a charming half-smile.
Your half-smile! Okay…maybe that was exaggeration, but you’d never seen him offer that smile to anyone but you when you were at the compound, working.
The ache in your chest has you up on your feet, the bagged letter shoved into the front pocket of your satchel as you pull the strap up onto your shoulder. “I’m gonna start on this right away. You can forget the third coffee.”
You don’t mean to spit your words at the redhead, but you do, and you don’t even feel bad about it.
“You’re leaving already?” Steve asks, sounding slightly disappointed.
“I should get started on the letter. And I don’t want to impose on you.” You look at Thor as you speak, unwilling to look at Steve to see what expression he might be wearing.
“Impose?” Steve sounds so confused but you won’t look at him.
“I’ll see you guys back at the compound.” You turn on your heel and as quickly as you can manage, you weave your way through the crowd of people coming in out of the freezing rain.
“Y/N?” Steve calls out to you, but you don’t stop and leave the shop as quickly as you possibly can.
“What the hell was that about?” Steve wonders, turning his gaze back to Thor.
Thor sits, shaking his head again at his friend, disappointment written across his ruggedly handsome face. “You, my dear friend, are a half-wit and I hope she never gives you the time of day.”
“What?” Steve demands confused more than ever.
Thor gets to his feet. “Dear Kate, I will not be requiring a coffee either.”
“Where are you going?” Steve asks, looking over at Kate who is already leaning over to the barista and cancelling the second coffee.
“To see my girl. I will not make the same mistakes my friends make. You are a good man, Steve. Just a bit stupid.” Thor moves for the door with no trouble. Everyone parts for him. He draws up his collar and disappears out into the rain.
Steve stares after Thor, wondering what the hell he could mean but when he sees your umbrella, forgotten in the wooden stand, Steve’s heart gives a sudden jolt. He’s up on his feet, racing for the door. He grabs your umbrella and without another word, he too disappears into the darkening afternoon.
Poor Kate moves towards the table, cup of coffee balanced carefully on her tray where no one is waiting.
“What the fuck?” She mutters, under her breath, then marches back to the counter in defeat.
“Y/N?” Steve’s voice makes you jump.
You accidentally tear the letter at the top and sigh heavily as you glare at the rip.
“Damn it.” You growl.
“There you are.” Steve says with a smile. He moves towards you where you’re leaning over your lab table where you’ve been rubbing swabs on the edges where fingers would have more than likely touched first.
“Where else am I supposed to be?” You ask, still grumpy from the coffee shop debacle a few hours ago.
“Nowhere. I just wasn’t sure you’d still be in here. But you’re always in here.” He shrugs. “Shoulda known better. Anything yet?”
You put the now torn letter aside and shake your head. “The last two swab samples are finishing up now. What are you doing here? I thought you’d be sipping java with your redhead.”
“Redhead? Oh, Kate? She’s nice.” He nods.
You hate him. You officially hate him and the redhead.
“But I don’t think I can be comfortable around her. She’s tires too hard. I want someone I can lounge on the sofa with. Someone who’ll watch movies with me. Excited because it’s usually the first time I’ve seen them.” He stops beside you, turning around to lean his back against your lab table. He’s fidgeting with something but you’re thinking about the description for the person he wants to be with. You and he love watching movies together. Well, you love watching movies with him and he’s never complained about your company. “Even when they’ve seen them a million times before.”
You look up at him and feel your chest tighten nervously. “Is that my umbrella?”
You finally focus on what he’s got in his hands and he nods, frowning at you. “You left without it. You’re going to get sick.”
“Me? Not possible. I’m resilient.” Almost as if it’s on cue, you double over with a sneeze.
“Right, resilient. And what the hell are you wearing?” He asks, outrage on his handsome face.
“What?” You look down at yourself. You’re wearing your lab coat. But he probably means what’s underneath it.
You had showered and changed into your satin pajamas, dark blue shorts and a matching button up shirt with a light pink embroidered line along the hem for embellishment. Your feet are covered with your fluffy white slippers. You’re warm!
“There’s nothing wrong with what I’m wearing.”
Steve frowns, placing your umbrella on the table and turns to face you, opening his mouth to argue. Before he can there’s a ding and with an excited jump you scamper over to the autosampler and push a few buttons on the touch display.
“Anything?” Steve asks.
You stare at the screen for a minute then turn to look at him. “Yeah but…” You suddenly realize what must have happened.
“Where did you say that you found the letter?” You put your hands on your hips and move towards him slowly, stopping only when you’re a foot away, staring up at his confused and handsome face.
“On Tony’s lab table. Why?”
“Because the samples returned Tibetan soil and germicidal solution.” You wait for him to realize what’s going on, but he stares at you in utter confusion.
“The attacker is from Tibet?” He asks, seriously.
“No, Steve. There is no attacker.” You begin to remove your lab coat and throw it over your stool and stretch your arms over your head. Steve’s expression changes as he watches you stretch, his eyes moving down along your torso then back up to your face. Why are his eyes dilated? “What other pretentious asshole do we know who probably has plenty reason to spend time in Tibet?”
Steve continues to stare down at you and it becomes so invasive that you cross your arms across your chest and wait for him to answer.
“Who?” He asks.
“I’m sure Stephen didn’t mean to surprise you and Thor, but he is the only other idiot I know that would use the word ‘felicitations’. Why can’t he just use ‘congratulations’ like other normal people? Dumbass.” You move around Steve, dropping your hands as you walk.
His hand suddenly grabs your wrist and he pulls you to a stop. “Where are you going?”
“To bed? I’m beat. I’ve been running around all day and then I spent the last six hours in here running tests on that stupid letter.” You look down at his hand around your wrist and wish he’d just grab you and kiss you. But he won’t. You gently pull your arm out of his grip. “Goodnight, Steve. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Goodnight.” He replies.
With disappointment tightening your chest, you find solace in at least the fact that the redhead, Kate, is no one to be worried about.
“It took you long enough. Do you have any idea how long I have been waiting for you to realize that you are utterly in love with our little forensics expert?” Thor gestures towards the doorway of Steve’s bedroom.
Steve looks over at it and knows that Thor is gesturing towards the kitchen where you’re busy baking to relieve some stress after all that nonsense with Strange’s letter.
“I guess I’m still as clueless as ever when it comes to dames.” Steve sighs, reaching up to rub at the back of his neck.
“Clueless you may be, but a further idiot you do not have to make yourself. No one is home. It is you, Y/N, and myself. In a moment I will leave you and I suggest you make a move. Any move. Tell her you love her, kiss her, embrace her, just do something. I can’t stand watching the two of you pining any longer.” Thor claps Steve on the shoulder and moves towards his door to take his leave.
Steve springs to his feet and tries to fight the fluttering of his heart as he takes in Thor’s carefully worded advice. “Wait, are you saying she likes me back?”
“Like?” Thor shakes his head again. “You’re both idiots.”
With that, Thor turns and leaves Steve standing in utter nervous excitement, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he searches for the confidence to make his move. He has to make it clear that you’re the one he wants. Not Kate, not any other girl he’s ever met. Just you.
You’re busy checking on the chocolate cakes baking in the professional grade oven that Tony spared no expense on in the kitchen. The smell is so intoxicating. Devil’s Food Cake is your best dish. It’s almost finished. Just a few more minutes. You’re so focused on your cake that you don’t notice as Thor sneaks down the hallway to the elevator and takes his leave.
You pull the cakes out two minutes before the ding of the timer.
Your hair pulled up into a messy bun you carefully pull the two round cakes out of their tins and place them on the cooling rack but even though you know that you should wait until the cakes have really cooled down before you start piling them up into a two-layered cake, you reach for your carving knife and very carefully cut the dome of the bottom layer away leaving a nice, flat, and even cake.
You set the slivers of cut cake aside on a smaller plate before you pile the cake up.
“What the hell is that smell?” Steve’s voice shocks you again and you jump.
“Jesus, Steve, don’t you knock?” You demand, irritated with how easily he scares you.
“I live here.” He sasses you. He stops behind you, peeking over your shoulder at the chocolate cake, smiling that stupid half-smile that he gave to Kate. It irritates you because you’d thought that was your smile. Now you’re wondering how often he smiles like that outside of the compound. “That looks good. What kind of frosting are you going to use?”
“Frosting? I’m not going to use any frosting.
“What?!” He demands, somewhat outraged.
You push the cake to the side and turn to hop up onto the counter, then pull the wooden tray up onto your lap, the cake perfectly balanced at the center.
“It doesn’t need any frosting. It’s sweet enough as it is. This is my Devil’s Food Cake!” You assure him. You don’t need to add anything. It’s already perfect.
“You can’t not add frosting. It’s not cake without frosting.” He moves closer, standing in front of you to look down at the un-iced cake, his hands on his hips.
“Fine. You want proof?” You reach over and pull the small plate with the slivers of shaved cake, grab a decent sized piece and hold it out for him to take. “Here, try it.”
Your heart stutters as he places his right hand on your left next to your hip on the counter. He eyes the offered cake then looks up into your eyes. The amused intensity of his sparkling blue eyes ties a knot in your chest making it hard to swallow. He places his other hand on your other side, his thumb gently grazing your hip as he leans in towards you.
He opens his mouth and before you can pull back, he closes his mouth around the cake and the tips of your fingers.
Butterflies tumble violently in your stomach making you feel as if you’re floating. He pulls back, licking his lips as you sit frozen on the counter, your chest burning with a sudden desire.
“You know what?” You’re right.” He admits, nodding and twisting his mouth in defeat, not oblivious of the state that he’s put you in. There’s a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. “You’re sweet enough without it.”
He pulls back fully and moves towards the living room across the meeting room as you continue to sit, still frozen on the kitchen counter.
“What do you wanna watch?” He asks. His questions snaps you back to reality and you spring from the counter, shoving the cake onto the counter as you storm after him.
He’s already sitting on the long sofa, flipping through the selection of movies on the T.V. with a furrowed brow.
“You can’t just do that and walk away from me, Steve. What the hell was that?”
“What was what?” He asks, innocently.
“What thing with-with-with your mouth and the cake and my fingers?”
“I was tasting it.” He shrugs.
“Am I just a joke to you?” You demand. Your heart aches slightly, wondering if he knows how much you think about him. Always, he’s on your mind. What he just did…that teasing…
“Well, you are pretty funny.” He says, that half-smile back.
“Oh, screw you, Steve.” You turn sharply on the ball of your foot to storm out of that living room, but Steve’s hand is once again on your wrist, stopping you from moving.
Without warning he yanks you back so that your legs hit his left knee and you tumble backwards onto the sofa, landing on your back. Slowly Steve leans himself over you, lifting your legs with his right arm so that you’re lying on the sofa completely.
“What are you doing?” Your pounding heart tells you that you know what he’s doing. But you want him to say it. You want to know you’re not wrong.
“Making my move.” He explains, quietly.
Before you can reply he leans down and presses a sensual kiss to your throat. You gasp and try to remember how to breathe.
“How long have you liked me, Y/N?” He whispers against your throat, his breath tickling your skin and making it erupt into goosebumps.
You have trouble finding your voice for a second. “A long time.”
Steve kisses your throat again then pulls back, licking his lips as he stares down into your eyes.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He reaches up, caressing the sides of your face as he works his right knee between your legs to lay himself on you a bit more comfortably.
“I was afraid that you wouldn’t like it, me liking you. You’re way out of my league.” You insist.
Steve smiles your half-smile and he shakes his head. “Trust me, Y/N, if anyone is unqualified, it’s me. I’ve loved you since almost the first moment I set my eyes on you.”
Love?!
“Can I show you?” He whispers, leaning down to whisper against your lips.
You’re so intoxicated with him and the way you can taste your cake on his breath.
“Show me.” You plead, and he closes the space between your lips, kissing you with so much desire that you’re sure he’s wanted you just as much as you’ve wanted him.
His hands trace the shape of your hip before he hooks his hand around your thigh, slides it down to rest behind your knee and lifts your leg to wrap it around his waist.
As Steve presses himself between your legs, drawing a muffled moan from your lips, you’re sure of one thing; When Steve Rogers decides to make a move, he makes a move.

One more supernatural themed story coming in the next few days!
You were the only one of your kind on Earth. You might even be the last of the fae on Earth, but that didn’t bother you. It made you feel unique rather than different. You could do things no-one else could.
You’d met Clint years ago and knowing what you were and what you could do, he’d introduced you to The Avengers. This is where you met Steve and Thor. They were the sweetest men alive and they loved you.
Your relationship was perfect, well, except for one thing.
Your boys were giants. That was what you swore every day, even if you knew the reality. While most people did see the men to be quite tall, 6’6 and 6’2 respectively, when it came to the three of your heights everyone knew you were just short.
Your kind weren’t exactly known for making people tall enough to ride a roller-coaster, but for your kind you were quite tall. Being fae wasn’t a bad thing, no quite the opposite. Sure, it came with some minor setbacks, standing at 4’11, iron and the fact many people associated you with a little blonde in a green dress.
But your boys didn’t care. Neither did the team. Because you were Y/N, you were just Y/N to them.
“What are you doing?” Steve asked, startling you at the sudden noise. Tightly gripping the shelf, you narrowed your eyes slightly as you turned to face the man.
“I was trying to make breakfast, but you two giants keep putting the things up too high.” You pouted as Steve came over and helped you off the counter. He pulled the cups and plates off the shelf and placed them on the bench as you raised a brow at him.
“You shouldn’t sit on the counter, you could fall.” Steve sighed. “Why didn’t you just fly to get them? Or use magic to get the things down.”
“I didn’t think to use any magic. And besides my wing is still ripped.” You said, wrapping the non-injured one around you and gently touching the still injured one.
“Are you sure you can’t heal this sweetheart?” Steve asked, reaching out to gently touch the torn wing. “I’ve seen you do some incredible things with your magic, why not this?”
“I wish I could fix it but if I do that it’ll become weaker, until one day it just tears right off.” You explained, folding the delicate wings back into your back. “Just some shitty rule my crappy parents explained before dumping me here.”
Steve didn’t say anything as he knew your parents were a subject you liked to be left well enough alone. He did pull you into his arms and kiss you gently causing you to smile.
“Why don’t you go and wake up our prince and I’ll make us breakfast?” You suggested, leaning your head back to gaze at the man. “I’ll make those pancakes you both like.” You added, getting a soft smile in response.
“Okay sweetheart.” He said, kissing you before leaving the room. Smiling to yourself you made about beginning breakfast. it was easy. It was a task you could lose yourself in. A task where you could forget the rest of the world and the rest of the world’s problems. And you did.
“Crap.” You cursed, realizing you forgot some of the ingredients on the top shelves. Not wanting to disturb Steve or Thor you turned the stove off and climbed the counter again. You’d almost grabbed the ingredient when a set of hands dragged you off the counter. “Shit!” You shrieked in surprise.
“My lady, I do believe that’s not safe.” Thor said, holding you tight against his chest. “A fall from that height could kill you.”
“It is not that far a jump and I am not that short.” You huffed, turning in his arms. Leaning back, you had to strain your neck to look up at him fully, but you it was worth the slight crick in your neck to see the disheveled Asgardian prince.
“I thought I told you to stay off the counters.” Steve scolded, standing next to Thor. “You could seriously injury yourself.”
“I just needed to reach some things. If you two giants didn’t place them on the very top shelve then I wouldn’t have to climb the counter.” You complained, pulling out of Thor’s arms. “It’s not my fault I’m a bit shorter than you both.”
“A bit shorter?” Steve snorted, you snapped your head to the man and glared at him.
“If you finish that sentence, I will end you.” You threatened. Steve raised his hands in surrender as Thor smiled at the two of you.
“I love you sweetheart.” Steve said sweetly, pulling you into his arms.
“Yeah, yeah.” You smiled as Thor wrapped his arms around the both of you.
“I love you both, Steven and lady Y/N.” Thor said loudly.
“Love you too, Thor.” You both replied.
“How about I make breakfast?” Steve suggested, pulling back slightly. “Just to ensure no-one falls off a counter or burns the kitchen.”
“Marvelous plan, Steven.” Thor cheered, kissing him quickly before taking a seat at the table. Quickly he pulled you onto his lap and rested his chin on your head. “Though you may not like the height you are, I love how small your frame is against mine.” He murmured into your ear as Steve bustled around the kitchen.
“That’s sweet honey.” You said, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek. “But still you’re both too tall.” You added with a smile as he laughed.
“Are you sure you don’t want one of us to come?” Steve asked, walking beside you. “Because I’ll gladly come.”
“As would I.” Thor agreed from your other side. “I thought you said you hadn’t spoken to your brother in almost two centuries.
“I haven’t. The last time I saw him he was scaring townspeople and making them believe he was the devil.” You supplied. “But it’s been almost two centuries and he’s a thousand years old now, he’s probably matured since.” You added, moving in front of them and taking one of their hands. “I appreciate the offer, but I can go on my own.”
“It’s just we get worried and you said he wasn’t exactly the nicest growing up.” Steve sighed, kissing your knuckles.
“What sibling is ever the nicest?” You asked with a smirk.
“She has a point, Steven.” Thor pointed out, looking at the super soldier.
“I get your both protective, but it’s just lunch.” You repeated, hovering slightly to kiss them both. “I’m a big fae, I can handle myself.”
“Alright, I’m sorry sweetheart, you know I’m a worrier.” He said, shaking his head slightly. “Have a good lunch sweetheart.”
“Have fun my lady.” Thor said, kissing your cheek. “Do not worry, I shall keep Steven busy.”
“Sounds like you’ll be having more fun than I will.” You smirked before going to leave. “Love you, boys.” You called with a wave.
“Love you Y/N.”
It was only lunch, what could possibly go wrong?
Everything. Everything could go wrong.
You’d met your brother at a park near the Avengers Tower, a neutral place, and he’d greeted you’d friendly and suggested you go the restaurant for lunch. You hadn’t even got into the car before he’d injected you with iron and you were out.
When you woke up, he was trying to sell you to a bunch of fae hunters in his steed. You had to fight your way out of the situation and ended up with a couple iron bullets in your body. The pain was excruciating but you had to make your way back to the Tower.
Using what little strength, you had, you teleported to the outside of the Tower. Holding your stomach, you dragged yourself back into the building to hear ‘Y/N!’
Natasha ran over to you and helped you into the elevators. “What happened?” She demanded, placing her hand over one of your bleeding wounds.
“My brother’s a jackass.” You supplied with a small grin.
“We need to get you to Bruce.” She said going to press Bruce’s number.
“No, not Bruce.” You cut in, grabbing her hand. “Need Steve and Thor.”
“Y/N, you could bleed out. You need to see Bruce.” Natasha said firmly, narrowing her eyes at you.
“Then get him on our floor. Steve and Thor can help get the iron out of my system.” You told her, pressing your floor number. Natasha told JARVIS to send Bruce to your floor and to hurry as it was an emergency, just as the elevator opened.
“Steve! Thor!” Natasha yelled, sitting you down on the couch. “Get out here and bring towels!”
“Tasha, what’s going on?” Steve asked, coming out of the bedroom with Thor right behind him. The two stopped in their tracks at the sight of your bloody form. “Towels, now!” She repeated.
“And my potions kit.” You added, both boys snapping back to life at the sound of your voice.
Steve ran back into the bedroom to follow her command and Thor rushed over, kneeling in front of you.
“My lady, who did this to you? What happened?” He demanded, applying pressure to your thigh.
“I was right, my brother has changed. He tried to sell me to some fae hunters. I was shot with some iron bullets and injected with iron before I got out.” You answered as Steve ran in and Bruce arrived.
Bruce having heard the last of you explanation was in full doctor mode. “Where were you shot and did they make an exit wound?” He asked, taking Thor’s spot in front of you.
“Shoulder, thigh and stomach. I think the shoulder one got out.” You replied, groaning as Bruce began looking at them.
“We really need to get you into the infirmary.” Bruce started, applying pressure to your stomach.
“No infirmary, you just need to get the bullets out. I can heal them myself but you need to get them out. That’s the only way I can heal myself.” You said, reaching for the potions kit. Grabbing the knife out of the kit, you handed it to the doctor.
“Steve, move that table, Tash, lay some towels on the ground.” Bruce ordered. Both people quickly moved to follow his instructions. “Thor, I’m going to need you to hold down because this is going to hurt.” He added, helping you off the couch.
Thor gently took you from Bruce’s hold and sat on the floor, laying your head on his lap. Bruce set about getting bullet out of your stomach as Thor held you tightly.
“Steve, in my bag, there’s a bottle called dittany. Can you please find that?” You asked, turning your head to the blonde. Steve quickly dug through the bag and showed you the small bottle. “That’s the one. Steve, I need you to pour a couple drops on my shoulder.”
“How are doing there Y/N?” Natasha asked, taking one of your hands in hers.
“Oh you know, having my bloodstream be poisoned by iron.” You said sarcastically. “Just another day at the office.”
“Got it.” Bruce said, getting the bullet out of your stomach. “One more.” He promised.
“You are doing so well, my love.” Thor cooed, pushing the hair out of your face.
“Steve, dittany.” You gasped, attempting to jerk away in pain. He quickly poured a few drops on the wound and watched as it began to heal.
“And that’s it.” Bruce said, pulling the last bullet out. Steve moved over and poured another few drops onto the last wound. You didn’t move, only let out a long sigh at the relief you felt.
“Thank you Bruce, thank you Tash.” You murmured, suddenly feeling very weak. Thor lifted you from the ground and cradled you, gently, in his arms.
“I’ll take her to the bedroom.” He said, nodding to Steve. He laid you on the bed and moved over to grab you some new clothes. “My love, if I ever see that brother of yours he shall reap the day he was born.”
“You don’t have to do anything, Thor.” You said, watching him move around.
“He hurt you, my love, he deserves to be punished.” Thor said firmly, turning to watch as you pushed yourself up, on one arm.
“Thor, you don’t have to do anything because he’s already dead.” You stated, pushing yourself up further. “And I’m the reason he’s dead.” You added, taking a deep breath, before bursting into tears.
Thor sat on the bed next to you and wrapped his arms around you. He allowed you to cry into his shoulder and only whispered soothing words into your ear. At some point Steve came in, sat on your other side and wrapped his arms around you too.
“I’m sorry.” You laughed, tears still streaming down your face. “I don’t know why I’m crying.”
“You don’t need to be sorry, sweetheart.” Steve whispered, kissing you on the head. After several minutes the tears stopped and you just sat in their arms, enjoying the warmth they provided.
“I love you two.” You said, breaking the silence. “I love you my giants.” You continued, kissing them both on the shoulder, the highest you could reach without moving.
“I love you, my little pixie.” Steve said, leaning down to kiss you on the head.
“I love you as well, my nymph.” Thor declared, kissing you in the spot as Steve had. “I love you too, Steven.” Thor continued, leaning over to kiss Steve.
“I love you too, honey.” He said once they pulled apart. The three of you stayed in the position, quietly talking together, until you fell asleep. You were tucked into both their sides and they were cuddled around you.
And this is were you enjoyed being smaller than the two because it made you feel warm and it made you feel safe.

enjoy my 4:30 AM nonsense writing. ( this is the first thing I’ve written in over a month)
Exhaustion filled your body as you lay down. The soft pillow against your heated cheek gives you somewhat of a relief, Soon your breathing starts to shorten as sleep takes over.
Closing your eyes you feel relief as the darkness takes over, no stress, no worries, just pure quietness. The sound of the AC running helps you focus on staying in this one place.
You feel the bed dip behind you, a warm body then lays next to you. You feel the warmth from their breathing as you fight the urge to wake up. “ Shh, it’s okay go back to sleep doll” you hear the familiar voice speak as an arm wraps around your midsection.
You feel another presence of warmth from your front, pulling you deeper into your sleep. Another arm wraps around you, “ Sleep well my little dove” another familiar voice speaks as you feel their soft lips place a feather-light kiss on your forehead.
Still fighting the urge to open your eyes, you slowly release a deep breath of air, before falling back into the darkness. Feeling relaxed with the warmth that now envelopes you.

Summary: The anniversary of the incident that took half the world takes a toll on you and the men you love.
Masterlist || AO3 Link
You sat back clutching the raggedy doll with your eyes focused on the crib in front of you. Since the incident, you had barely set foot in the room, but with the second anniversary, your heart had pulled you back into the unused room still waiting for you to bring your daughter home. Uncle Tony and Aunt Pepper had created the room for you so you’d be safe inside the command. It didn’t keep your daughter safe. You’d spent nearly thirty hours in labor to finally hold her when the screams started. You had clutched her to your chest terrified already since Tony had gone missing, but when her weight seemed to vanish and only ash was left nothing was the same.
“Y/N,” you looked up from your daze meeting Steve’s somber looking expression. He was freshly shaven and you could tell the small smile was forced.
“Hello, Steve. So you never got to see it but what do you think?” you looked around the room noticing the way his eyes kept focused on the unused crib.
“It’s beautiful. She would have loved it,” he stepped further into the room letting his hands rest on the edge of the crib. “The butterflies, are they for your mom?”
You stood replacing the doll in the chair crossing to Steve. You were hesitant but slowly wound your arms around his waist from behind resting your cheek against his upper back, “You remembered.”
One of Steve’s hands moved up covering yours, “I could never forget. I should have been there with you. Thor and I both should have been there.”
“Don’t Steve. Please, just not today. This is on no one else but Thanos. He ruined everything,” you struggle to keep your composure if only for Steve. “I have to go to work but when I get off I’d love to have dinner. We’ve all been hit or miss so much lately and today I just really need you and Thor.”
“We’ll pick you up. Thor just got back from another mission and we’ll plan something.”
You slip from his grip allowing him to turn and wrap his arms around you, “Has Thor been here before?”
“Once after we came back to the compound,” you close your eyes remember finding your godly boyfriend on his knees clutching the very doll you had been holding. “I think he was singing. It was an Asgardian lullaby that he had wanted to sing to her. It was the only time he’s been here.”
“I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to get here. I can’t imagine how you must feel.”
“It’s hard but I like to think wherever they are that her uncles Bucky and Sam are spoiling her rotten.”
Steve finally gave into his pain and let his head rest on your shoulder sobbing. You joined him allowing the pain to take you as your love held you. It had been hard to hold your child knowing neither he nor Thor had ever seen her. Nor knew which one was her biological father not that it would have mattered. You were a family and Thanos had destroyed everything.
“Do you want a ride to work?”
“No, I’ll be fine. I’m going to go get ready,” you kiss Steve’s cheek. “Go check on our God and I’ll see you both after work.”
“Okay. You mind if I stay here a little while,” Steve looks around the room desperately and you only nod swallowing back another wave of sadness.
The bakery had been mostly quiet since you took over the counter. You were thankful your employees were so helpful and that they happily did the openings for you. Since the incident, it was hard for you to work mornings. So many sad people hurting and wanting to talk about their pain and you couldn’t. Your employees already planned the solution before you even could put it together. The evenings you’d close and prep the recipes for in the morning and they’d manage the shop during breakfast.
The bell rang above the door to the shop even though you’d turned the closed sign on, “I’m sorry we’re closed.”
You froze seeing a brutish man leaning on the counter twirling a knife in his hands, “Well you are as lovely as pictures aren’t you?”
“Who are you?”
The man stood tossing a handful of pictures on the counter. Some innocent ones from the early days when Steve would sit at your café tables drawing people passing on the street and Thor would help you in the kitchen kneading dough, but then it moved on to more intimate ones. The late nights as you watched Thor and Steve paw at one another for your pleasure and then spread you out between them.
“Like I said as lovely as your pictures,” he grins and his breath stinks with tobacco and you step back as he moves around the counter.
“Why do you have these?”
“I was paparazzi before losing everything. No one cares about celebrities anymore but how much would people love to see these pictures. How long do you think before they tear your shop apart? Before the world comes for you,” he moves the knife between both hands and fear curls in your belly.
“You’re blaming them for something they tried everything to stop. We all lost people that day. All of us,” you try to be strong and not give in to fear, but you have nothing to protect yourself with.
“Bullshit! Earth’s mightiest heroes and they couldn’t do the one thing they were supposed to. They shouldn’t have died you bitch,” he practically leaps at you but you were ready falling back rolling to the side.
“Steve! Thor!” you scream although you know it’s still early for them to arrive.
“No one can save you. Just like they couldn’t save my family,” he snarls and the blade slashes down planting in your arm.
You scream pulling away blood pouring from the wound. He moves quicker and suddenly hot searing pain spreads in your rib and pulling away the sensation returning again in quick succession. You gasp when the blade pulls away and he leans over you spitting into your face. He draws back once more and your raise your hands in surrender, “Please I can’t leave them. Please, I can’t.”
“Too fucking bad,” he spits bringing the knife down into your chest just above your heart. He steps back leaving the knife embedded and tears well before he looks down at you. It’s like two different people as the anger flees from his body and his shoulders slump, “Oh god, what did I do?”
“Help me,” you sob but the man bolts leaving the tinkering of the bell above the door in his wake.
You feel cold and reach for anything to covering the stab marks in your side. Your side is practically in shreds but you have to hold on. If only to say goodbye to your boys then that will be enough. You close your eyes remembering the happiness when you told them you were expecting, watching them taste your new coffee at your shop, and all the times you watched them at Tony’s parties or just relaxing in your apartment. All the times you were a family before the world burned around you.
It’s quiet and your freezing, but you refuse to allow the pain to let you close your eyes. You close your eyes pleading for Steve and Thor when the bell rings and you hear Thor, “I worry about her, Steve. Our child was taken from her and we’re no closer to finding Thanos.”
“Thor, we just have to be there. We’ve all been so lost we’ve forgotten that we’re in this together. We’ll show her tonight.”
“She’ll love the surp...,” Thor begins but quiets inhaling deeply. “Steve there’s blood.”
You whimper, “Steve. Thor.”
“Y/N!” Steve practically leaps over the counter. Thor right behind him as Steve pulls his jacket pressing it tightly to your bloodied side. Thor works the knife free from your upper chest using his jacket to cover that wound, “Baby, what happened?”
“Man,” you sobbed. “He came…came and was…was so…mad.”
“Relax, sweet girl,” Thor stroked your cheek. “We will find him and you will be alright.”
“I don’t think…think I will. I’ll be with…I’ll be with Rose,” you sobbed remembering your daughter’s soft features the few moments you had her.
“I called Tony and emergency services, Y/N. Hang on please,” Steve manages. He grips one hand in his while Thor takes the other, “We have a great date night planned. I made your favorite and Thor brought some of that Asgardian drink you love.”
You giggle, “It takes like rainbows. We made love the first time drunk on it. Do you remember?”
“We remember my fair Princess. We remember well and we will do it again but you must hold on,” Thor implores kissing your forehead.
You feel the struggle to breathe and know you don’t have long, “Take care of each other and when you find Thanos. Make sure he never forgets who he messed with. You make sure he knows.”
“We will Princess,” Thor’s voice is soft almost broken. “Please don’t go.”
“We need you, Y/N. We love you,” Steve pleads and it’s the same pain when he talks of Bucky or when he thought Thor had died.
You squeeze their hands closing your eyes. You hear them call your name but it’s in a fog and then nothing. Your body goes limp as Tony crashes through the window paramedics behind him but it’s too late. Thor lays your body on the gurney as he and Steve crash into one another uncaring if the world saw them finally break. Tony is quiet as he presses his forehead to yours hoping this is just another nightmare because he can’t lose you too. The man will turn himself in two days’ time but nothing will be the same.
Steve and Thor now both sit in the unused nursery when the sadness becomes too much to handle. They share pictures of happier times and sometimes Tony, Pepper, and all those who remain to join in. They sit in the little room that will never be used and when they find Thanos he will suffer for it the most.
