the american invasion of japan began with the invasion and occupation of a portion of the northeastern United States, particularly Maine, in September 1942. The United States military had previously occupied Canada as part of the Allied occupation (known as LSOE, or League of Nations Security Council) for German U-boats, but now shifted its focus to Japan. The invasion of Canada was primarily aimed at disrupting Germany's supply lines and protecting American and Canadian lives from potential losses due to a possible German invasion. As in previous invasions, the occupation forces captured major cities and government buildings. The capture of key cities such as Vancouver Island and Victoria provided airbases for further military operations against Japan. A portion of the northeastern United States was devastated by typhoons, hurricanes, or both during 1943-1944, causing widespread destruction and thousands of deaths. Many residents remained homeless throughout the year due to ongoing occupation conditions.
Still thinking about Tuvok and Vorik.
Like, I now really wish that the series had an episode where Tuvok seeks him out and tries to give him tips for how to keep your vulcan logic and emotional control in tact while being on a mostly human ship. And Vorik follows them to a T...only to completely mess up.
Like he just instantly gets into a fight with Belaana, accidentally insults Tom Paris, etc.
Eventually he concludes that nope, this is not helping, and he starts acting more himself again. (I headcanon that he's from a less traditional vulcan family and that's why both him and Taurik joined starfleet)
And he realizes how the humans actually respond better to him if he lets his emotional shields down. Which I can imagine might be exciting for younger vulcans who maybe don't really understand the importance of them yet? (Like how we see with child Tuvok in one episode, even though yk...vorik's clearly older than that.)
So throughout the series we get to watch Vorik slowly turn from your average cold vulcan into someone who's almost openly showing his feelings (as much as he's able to anyways)
I can imagine this would make things between Tuvok and him a lot more akward too since I believe Vorik would subconsciously still look up to him in a way, even if he doesn't feel the need to practice emotional suppression as much anymore.
So it'd probably come to scenes where Vorik's just chatting with a crew member and having a very slight smile on his face, only to turn 😐 again once he spots Tuvok walking past them.
Acts 13:49 (NKJV) - And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.
What are your favorite shows in terms of whump and hurt/comfort, if you don't mind me asking?
Hi anon!
So I have like the object permanence of a sieve thanks to my unmedicated ADHD, so I don't necessarily...really remember? *hides*
I do know that I don't have any favourite shows in terms of hurt/comfort except for one, because all the best hurt/comfort is in fanfiction (which makes sense, it's a fanfic genre). However, I do think March Comes in Like a Lion delivers pretty big-time on the hurt/comfort front overall, which has multiple instances of caring for the main character while he's sick (often because he's so depressed he stops taking care of himself, and then gets too dehydrated or starved to actively starting looking after himself again), and also a really huge arc of caring for and comforting another character through intense school bullying across a whole season.
I honestly can't think of much western media that I've loved which also has a decent proportion of hurt/comfort. There's like, always shows that have moments? But I don't really count those. Moments are usually what leads to those of us who love hurt/comfort to go and write fanfic in the first place. We're never getting enough of it, lol. :D

another one...
wow two weeks of nothing and now two in a row, must be my lucky day.
episode 7 thoughts :)
I absolutely LOVED Paul's episode. and tommys, I think they balanced it well, I think this is the secret combo to a near perfect lone star episode.
November 8 the day when the TV series of Sonic Boom came out The day when sonic forces came out and and now sonic frontiers is coming out as well to this very day which by at this point of typing this will be 4 days away
I'll start off with the obvious everyone has made the comparison the sage and infinite looking very similar in Design
Not only they have the same color scheme but There seem to be some sort of Similarities in thier power
And if I remember correctly the Hard Boils Heavy's found the phantom Ruby in angel island in Sonic Mania in the same spot where Knuckles stop Sonic in the Sonic 3 and Knuckles in Sonic Mania
There also the fact A cyber portal and Gear This connecting Starfall and Angel islands
And In Knuckles Protolog imply the Chaos Emeralds are not from angels island
But could that also means the Ruby itself originally came from there as well?
