omg that’s the cutest thing ever
i often see EAH posts mention how Briar must be so happy to be able to watch her younger brothers grow up after being freed from destiny. it always made me wonder whether in the EAH universe she was meant to bear the weight of her curse alone.
in Thronecoming, she only ever refers to losing her friends, not her family. theoretically, Sleeping Beauty’s curse should include her family (in the French version, it’s one of the blessings her fairy godmother granted her, in consideration of her future). if we put that in-universe, this could mean…
1) if Briar’s brothers remained in her kingdom, she wouldn’t be separated from them. however, it’s assumed they’re future princes in other stories, so it’s likely they’ll go to Ever After High as well, meaning if they’re not in Sleeping Beauty’s kingdom at the time of Briar’s curse they wouldn’t fall asleep with her. and since there are eight of them, they wouldn’t all be off in boarding school at the same time, so some of them would be at home, which means potential for her family to be separated across a century.
2) if Briar had never left her kingdom and received her schooling at home, she wouldn’t have friends to lose in the first place. the destiny system not only traps her in her story, but also forces her to make other friends from other countries bc she has to attend EAH. and she… like… that’s messed up.
3) following that we could have had a different version of Briar, one that coped by pushing people away and never making friends in the first place. but i like this one so much more bc it’s much cleverer imo (as we know from her very first introduction, her character is built around the concept of living up every moment bc of her destiny, and that’s soooo much more interesting to me). and that contrast makes the implications all the more disturbing.
anyway yeah that’s the briar thoughts of the week
This scene ALWAYS makes me laugh it's so fucking FUNNY why does noone ever talk about this stupid plotline

Dexter: We're never gonna beat Beanstalk High at bookball!
Daring, cheerily: Oh, little brother! Don't be such a worrier! How tough can it be to beat a bunch of little beans, huh?
Hunter: Beanstalk High is filled with giants, Daring, not beans.
Daring, just as cheerily: Well then, we are in a lot of trouble, aren't we! Haha.

hey snow. babe, did you know, when you were running from your home, from your father and all the life you've ever known, that you'd be able to go back one day? did you know that when you fled into the forest from your stepmother who's trying to kill you, that you'd find a sanctuary in the form of seven kind dwarves who'd take pity on a lost child? did you know that when you were found by that huntsman in the woods that he'd abandon his orders to murder you and spare your life? did you know that when you took a bite of that poisoned apple that you'd have someone waking you from your enchanted slumber? what did you think when you learned that your own child would have to go through what you went through? and that thirteen generations later that they're still doing it, retelling that same old tale? that your descendants now are happy to go through the horror story that you went through? are you proud? are you sorry for them?
