six impossible things

I mean, King Richard's title is Lionheart and he has a problematic younger brother. Leona would clearly be the future Prince John, who doesn't want to follow his destiny and he and Falena are in a Raven/Apple situation where the villain character is the actually the good one + Ruggie and Jack working as subversion of the Sheriff and Guy of Gisborn.

Also: While they would already be enemies given their story, Leona having the aesthetic of the sly, flirty in a loser way,lazy leather-clad just like Sparrow would up their beef to an eleven (and they're probably cousins through Marian too, which makes it even funnier)

i kinda hate using the Lion King story in the EAH continuity bc it isn’t a fairytale, but i feel it’s necessary to explain why they’re like… beastmen. the Lionheart thing works for Falena/Leona by extension, but Ruggie’s hyena qualities are pretty inseparable from his character and Jack is quite literally just a wolf dude.

i haven’t thought of Leona in terms of paralleling Raven before bc he’s (unlike Raven) not above morally questionable means to achieve his ends. he’s also very much motivated by a combination of jealousy and rage (among other things ofc). tho i think i did at some point talk about how he would initially not support Raven’s cause due to his current state of passive cynicism. i mean he did have some personal growth after his little Scar stunt in the main twst story but i’d argue that wouldn’t be enough to change his beliefs about society as a whole… so while i still classify him as a Rebel, it would take a bit of time before he gives any credit to the idea.

in fact i think that’s the problem with most of the twst cast, esp the OB boys—they’re so disillusioned, they’re already predisposed against any idealistic hopes rip

ANYWAY back to your point—i love the idea of Leona having beef with Sparrow nevertheless. like i just know that man hates every male EAH student

I'll tell you the truth, since EAH is full of werebeasts, I think Ruggie and Jack's hyena-wolf nature might just be the magic touch. Ruggie loves to steal and his hyena form could work so well for the Sheriff of Notthingam,just as the wolf form would aid Jack in his attempt to kill Robin Hood as in the very first ballad of Guy of Gysborn.

ANYWAYS I HAVE SOME OPINIONS ON WHERE THE KIDS WOULD FALL IN THE ROYAL/REBEL CONFLICT. Tell me what you think!!!

So, let's start by saying that I'm working from the assumption that we are in a situation at the beginning of the series where some characters who became could be Rebel,havent found the bravery yet so are listed as royals,so i think that:

Heartsabyul Boys: Riddle would be a royal for the same reasons as Lizzie, namely extreme loyalty and subservience to his mother and tradition.

Ace is obviously a rebel since he is the one who creates the first inflation in the dormitory, and with him,and with him Deuce since he had a difficult past probably sees the rebellion as a way to redemption.

Trey and Carter would be royals, the first out of solidarity with Riddle as he understands his situation, and the second because he is the third born so in fact he does not have any great burden of destiny.

Savanaclaw Trio: The savanaclaw trio would obviously all be rebels given their social disillusionment BUT, and that's why I proposed the Robin Hood thing, I think Leona would be very similar to Book! Sparrow where he is a rebel, but has enough disillusionment to make him a "fuck you,got mine" type,that doesn't care for Raven as a leader

Octaville Trio: The Octaville trio would be like the Lizzie/Maddie/Kitty trio where one is a royal, the other a rebel, but the conflict of interest is practically nil so it doesn't ruin their relationship. Azul is crazy as hell, so being the sea witch is fine for him + the little mermaid doesn't die in the original version, so he can basically be a mad scientist in peace. The Leech twins are rebellious, but more by nature than by ideology (like Melody), so they do their own thing but don't argue with Azul about it.

Scarabia Duo: This is a basic one, but obviously Jamil is a rebel and Kalim is a royal, and they're like Raven and Apple.

Pomenfiore Trio: The pomenfiore trio is complicated! In my opinion, Apel is a royal because, similarly to Blondie, he wants to climb the social ladder from within, so if someone gives up their place, he will replace them

Rook would be a royal, but in that specific way in which he is the Hunstman and respects the ideals of loyalty to one's master that Hunter's father boasts so much.

Vil is very difficult for me because I think he wouldn't mind being the evil queen haha. But at the same time I think he wants to get out of his shadow. I would say Rebel, but in a soft way

Ignihyde Duo: The Shroud brothers are Rebels because they are in a Cerise situation in which they pretty much have to be a rebel, since they did the big fuck up

Diasomnia Boys: So,#hot take but I think Mallus would be like Briar: He claims to be Royal but then acts like a Rebel! Given the importance of the Draconia family he want to keep the status quo, but in the long run his heart desire for rebellion and connettion.

okay so i actually did categorize the boys in the context of my own crossover in this post, but i never made dedicated posts about each of them (i definitely want to now). but i honestly agree with most of your thoughts!! ESP the Raven/Apple and Jamil/Kalim thing i could go on about them for AGES.

here’s some of my reflections:

Heartslabyul is fs majority Royal. i made Ace the only Rebel tho; i think Deuce would join him later on but i see him as wanting to “clean up by adhering to acceptable behavior” as more Royal-leaning. that isn’t so set in stone tho bc it would have to be circumstantial (plus they’d be Wonderlandian so it wouldn’t really be as important to them) ALSO Cater would essentially be a third-culture kid between Wonderland and Ever After bc of how frequently his family moved around -> he ended up absorbing more Ever After culture and so cares more about being a Royal for clout.

Savanaclaw def Rebels no notes there. Leona and Ruggie 100% would have a million reasons to hate the system even on opposite sides of it. Jack would be with them out of solidarity

in Octavinelle, Azul is so Royal coded it hurts. he has a lot of parallels to Blondie btw the twins don’t rlly care about stuff that doesn’t directly affect them but on a base level i’d classify Jade as a Royal bc he’s realistically gn inherit the family business and like clearly benefits from it, while Floyd is more Rebel leaning bc i mean really (even tho he obvs also benefits from having a high class family).

no notes on Scarabia bc i yap about them and their Rapple parallels too much already

your Pomefiore thoughts are really interesting!! i def agree about Vil; he would champion Rebels from a media/cultural stage, but he also does adhere to a lot of traditional beauty standards. so. stuff to unpack there. Epel i’m less sure of. i instinctively think of him as Rebel bc of how he chafes against Vil’s rules, but it is true that he is trying to adhere to a certain traditional standard for being a manly man. i wouldn’t say he’s really looking for prestige like Blondie tho

I've been in a haikyuu mood ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ very nostalgic.

It's funny, I discovered haikyuu thru my dad, who was trying to get me to play vball again. I did not get back into playing but it is how I got into anime and everything, first anime ever lmaooo (sorry dad <3) but yeah, HQ will probably always be my #1 series ever.
