So a friend and I were talking about the characterization of Pierrot and how, well, the general fandom seems to be looking at him.

I've had a feeling that a good chunk of people only have surface level knowledge of Pierrot, or even just get most of their "content" from fanon, rather than looking at the actual source material.

Pierrot himself during his nighttime rambles shows us, the reader, so much more. Yes, he shows MC his sweet side, smiling and showing affection. And when we make all the choices he agrees with, he plays nice.

But I stated it this way "He is playing nice because it is working. If it wasn't working, he wouldn't BE nice."

MC doesn't get to see Pierrot being scary because he's trying to do things the easy way. However, he makes it abundantly clear that he's not taking no for an answer, and that you belong to him, period.

So yes, Pierrot comes off as a cute innocent precious bean who could do no wrong, but if that's all you see, you've fallen for his little act.

He can be. And will be. Very scary. Even in front of MC. He's just usually been good at holding back. He does his best to hide his fangs, but sometimes he slips when things aren't going his way.

saw many people on twitter talking about suo's medical eye patch and how it means the eye injury is recent. and how maybe his fighting style just happened to become fitting for someone with no depth perception, a coincidence somehow.

i lean more into a) wearing medical eye patch for different aesthetic (there are official arts where he's wearing a medical eye patch bc his clothes are different style); b) he could be scratching his scar until it bleeds just to feel something :) a junior high suo seems less chill and reserved, plus nirei had different information on suo's character ("aloof and cold" and not a jokester). suo's reaction to tsuge in the flashback hints he was.. kinda antsy at the time? these days he dodges a water bottle from behind, and back then he got almost startled from tsuge approaching him with a yell.

i can kinda see him scratching his old injury occasionally, damaging the scar again, and wearing a medical eye patch because leather is too irritating on a damaged skin. and somewhen before furin learning to control the urges (by meditation), and he succeeds, so in high school he can wear a leather eye patch. he learns to tell all his muscles to relax before he goes to sleep, always sleeping in one, very reserved position, on his back and with his arms crossed on the chest, it's the only way he feels calm and safe and able to seal away the memories that his eye carries all the damn time.

I saw this on TikTok (@ emaline.vadrouill) and it’s honestly the coolest thing. Apparently, not all bats do this—it’s mostly fruit bats! Instead of landing gracefully like birds, they just kinda… flop onto their chest or belly

I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts, but I'm going to share my main thought with all. Now, I swear I listen to Noah Kahan to a healthy degree, and I think "Part of Me" is the route I want to go with most. Don't worry if you haven't listened to the song because here's the main part I mean:

"Even through the pain, I can't recall your face Just the ache of knowing everything was gonna change I got so close to love with you, my dear But I don't miss you I miss the way you made me feel"

Just this person Robert vaguely remembers. Someone that he wanted to love because that made him feel normal. Someone who was at his apartment because it gave him a reason to come back. Someone who could temporarily alleviate the loneliness with basic companionship or mind-numbing sex

They are not “just dreams”

Stop telling yourself that your dreams are dumb.

I personally hate it when I see someone talking about their dreams and then see people mocking them because their dreams are “unrealistic”. It pisses me off.

But what pisses me off more about that is that the people calling those dreams “unrealistic” are the kind of people settling down on things they hate while winning insane amounts of money. They simply know how to play the game.

But you know what? That’s stupid. We don’t know if we’ll have another life after this one, of course, we can believe we do, but at the end of the day, the only thing we can know for sure is that we only have one life.

Let’s imagine for a second here that there isn’t anything after death. No second opportunities. No heaven. No hell. Just a pure, obscure nothing. Let’s say that you would be completely alone with only your thoughts. You would think about your life at some point, right? Would you like to look back and be disappointed? Be disappointed knowing you wasted your whole life in something you didn’t even like because “it made a lot of money” or “it was more stable”?

That’s what the people that won’t follow their dreams will feel. Of course, they’ll have their own achievements, but at the end of the day, they will feel empty inside. That emptiness will be inside them forever. During eternity.

I’m not saying that’s what will happen after death, because no one knows what will happen. We don’t know if that’s what they will feel after death, but, that’s how they will feel during their whole life. Empty.

Following your dreams will always be the darker path, the one almost no one takes because it’s “too risky”. But you know what happens to the people that follow that path? The people that don’t give up even though that path is hard sometimes? They will always win. I’m not saying they will be rich or successful. I’m saying that they will feel whole, complete. They feel something the majority of people don’t feel because they’re too scared to try; They feel wholeness. That’s the only reward that makes all that path worth trying. Feeling whole because you always followed your dreams without looking back.

You should never call your dreams dumb again, instead, you should follow them. Follow the hard path, follow it knowing it’s worth it. There will be people telling you to give up, to follow the easy path as everyone else does. But you won’t listen to them. Not when you’re making your dreams come true.

Because at the end of the day, we are born with wings in a world that teaches us how to walk.

Don’t take the first step, dare to fly.
