Setting clear, healthy boundaries is one of the most important things you can do to nurture your wellbeing and start living authentically. There are a lot of people who will try to take advantage of you, or walk all over you if you allow them to. There is nothing selfish about putting yourself first.

How can you challenge yourself to be brave today?
Therapy isn’t just about talking — it’s about working toward what matters to YOU.
Goals can be short-term, like coping with stress, or long-term, like improving self-confidence or relationships. Every goal makes therapy more structured, meaningful, and effective. 💛
At Utsaah Psychological Clinic, our therapists guide you in setting goals that truly matter to your journey — your pace, your growth.

Maybe one thing I should say is
"I need to understand better the issues regarding nurturing in a relationship with peers, with adults... but my morality requires that this analysis takes place within an environment that is very critical of abelist assumptions, of assumptions with a source in toxic masculinity"

I have to figure some things out about.... how nurturing should look in relationships with adults
But it is complicated by my disabilities, the reality that I am more likely to find access intimacy with other disabled adults, the fact that in defiance of an abelist world it is really important to me to offer access intimacy to others where I can
The reality is that in an abelist world a LOT of advice about nurturing in adult relationships is incredibly oversimplified by abelist assumptions about what kinds of support should easily be identifiable as "only for children" "only for adults"
I /desperately need/ support around figuring out when nurturing is appropriate that DOESN'T rely so heavily around "X is for children only" "Y is for adults only"
My morals, my experience of life as a disabled person require a more individualized approach to all this
Reading #ramonaquimby to my daughter last night and there was a part that talked about future jobs. Kirsten said, “I want to be a #therapist when I grow up.” I asked her what a therapist does and she says, “you know, they talk about all the emotions.” This led to a great discussion of what #emotions we have and how we respond to them. ❤️ #therapy #childtherapy #therapygoals #ramonaandhermother
I'm so proud of my son!! He was actually taking steps by himself without help from the therapist. It makes me want to cry happy tears. Love this boy!! #therapygoals #babystepscount #love (at Children’s Hospital Colorado)
