#text animation tutorial

Okay sorry in advance I’m really bad at explaining stuff but I will try my best!

Before you start make sure you have some good typography fonts to choose from good font = good typography. There are loads of sites you can download them from I get mine from here.

1.Okay first you want go to file > new then set what ever size you want your canvas dimensions to be for this mine is 300px by 500px.

2. I wanted to animate 'photoshop text animation tutorial' but because I wanted to animate all 4 words separately. I had to write them in different text layers and then align them where you want them to go in relation to the other words if that makes sense.

3.Before you do this next step make sure you make the text the right size and color because after this step you won't be able to change its color or make it smaller. First thing you do is create video timeline not frame animation!

4.Convert all the text layers (separately) that you want to slide in, into smart objects.(Do this by right clicking on the layer)  Note: If you convert a text layer into a smart object text warp wont work!( What I used to create the effect for 'tutorial')

So far it looks like this:

5.For the first word I wanted to make it slide in so click the little arrow thingy next to the text then layer create 2 points on the transom bar. (To make points click the diamond thing next to transform) Put one at the beginning and one further apart it doesn't really matter where you can always change it later:

6.Now to make the text slide in to position I clicked on the first point and then pressed ctrl+t and moved the text out of the canvas.I done the same with 'animation':

7.To get the effect where the 2 words hit and seem to squeeze out another word (sorry I don't really know how to describe it) I moved the second point further back and made another point. With this point what I done was pressed ctrl+t again and moved it half way between the word 'text' and done the same with animation so now I have this:

8. Now with the word 'text' I moved the layer to appear where the second point of 'photoshop' is. I then made 2 points one at the beginning of that layer and one where the last 'photoshop' point is:

9.At the first point I pressed ctrl+t then squashed it together so it looks like this:

10. With the word 'tutorial' I didn't convert it into a smart object because I wanted to use text warp (you can play about with this) But now as you can see there is an extra option 'text ward' so again make 2 points one at the beginning of the layer and the other where the last 'photoshop' point is:

11.Click on the first point and then right click on the word and you will get the option 'warp text' it will come up with this:

12. Lastly select all the text layers and convert to smart object then go to filter > sharpen > smart sharpen:
