did you notice that roman weiss (the same company that published hate&ashbury) also published interview with the vampire book in the show. I feel like that entirely diminishes the Roman weiss is marius’s company..
Hey, 👋🏾
So yes, I noticed a long while ago that Roman Weiss published both Daniel's memoir, Hate and Ashbury, and the Interview with the Vampire book:
💬 0 🔁 74 ❤️ 349 · And add one more point on the "Marius is the one who erased Daniel's memories" theory/prediction for me.
And yeah, Mari
And no, I don't think that diminishes the possibility of Roman Weiss being Marius' company, but backs it up even more, in fact, which I go into here:
💬 1 🔁 21 ❤️ 78 · Roman Weiss, in fact, specifically published Daniel's memoir, Hate and Ashbury. This post by @alwynwitch talked about it
And here:
💬 0 🔁 11 ❤️ 51 · Reblog by @cbrownjc · 7 images · I saw your post about the Amsterdam mother house being behind the publication of the boo
To make it short: Per the book canon, Marius' own maker, Teskhamen, was one of the three main founders of the Talamasca organization. And Marius himself has had direct contact and gotten help from the Talamasca at times as well.
If the show sticks with this, and I have no reason -- so far -- to doubt that they will, then that would give Marius the connection for the Talamasca to seek Marius out to publish the Interview with the Vampire book for them.
Because, again, remember, it was the Talamasca that got the Interview with the Vampire book published. Or, more specifically, the Amsterdam Motherhouse branch of the Talamasca, who did.
And Marius, being the one to handle the publishing of Daniel's memoir, is also pretty self-explanatory, IMO, given Daniel's connection to Armand. And especially if my theory that Daniel's memories were blocked and erased by Marius, and not Armand, turns out to be correct as well.
I also don't think it's a coincidence that both books are essentially memoirs based on the recollections of two characters who we know have had their memories blocked, erased, or altered.
And I mean, come on, that name, Roman Weiss?
Weiss means "white" in German. As a family name derived from a personal nickname it referred to persons with white hair, beard or skin.
Definition from here.
And, of course, I think the first name "Roman" is self-explanatory, given how proud Marius, in the book at least, is of being Roman.
So yeah, Roman Weiss publishing both books, IMO, strengthens my theory and belief that Marius is the one behind the publishing of both books and the one who owns the company, and doesn't diminish the possibility at all. 🙂

The creation of the revenants is so beautifully close to the book lore, closer even that IWTV depicted it (or show!Louis knew it I guess).
Helen and her glasses... well I reblogged the post by @romaroy the other day, and it is very interesting, especially given the backstory. And how it makes her look.
Also - the wig looks... IDK. Black hair, the way it's styled.... Doris is that you? 😅
(Also this reminded me of the movies "Split" and "Glass", actually. Different personalities or personas merged into one?! And the whole demeanor is so different here.)
Episode 4 was a lot of fun, especially. And it more or less opening with Helen asking if the gardener had seen her before?! Interesting.
But of course the most interesting parts in 4 were Guy and Jasper... and Raglan.
At the beginning of the episode Jasper takes Guy into the basement to show him his revenants, and tells him a story of Bacille. Bacille, who, in 1271 Romania gets banished for going "vegetarian". He turns to the Talamasca to find out who is responsible, and the Talamasca agent finds out it was Morgut who had him banished in 1271, and is now heading a coven in Bolivia. And Bacille kills all those 17 vampires.
Now Jasper... for him this story seems to be personal, a young boy is shown being killed with the flashback (Guy later infers that this must have been Jasper.).. but he then does something very interesting - he calls the Talamasca agent who found out the name "greedy", and that he isn't the "exception but the rule".
Jasper notes that the power in their world isn't blood, but information. And that the Talamasca ... kept "them" in line through that information - and that "they" let them.
And then ... the Westcroft - the only vampire coven in town.
A hotel as a front for a coven.
It brings back memories of Louis' Azalea for me, and is a perfect explanation for the in-universe canon suites that are kept everywhere for vampires (in the books Lestat has several on "stand-by").
Jasper also heals Guy's forehead wound with some of his blood, and it sets up perfectly the context for what happens at the hotel a bit later.
Jasper claims before Guy goes in that he wants to bring the Talamasca down - talking about how "that book" contains all the whereabouts of every vampire, and that there are "not enough" vampires in the world.
And that the Talamasca... break families apart.
Now, if that is Jasper's real backstory... then Jasper was a kid in the 1920s. And was turned later.
And I find that VERY hard to believe. Because if he was like... 12(?) in the 1920, and was turned in his, what, 50s, 60s? then he was turned only in 1960 plus.
Making him a mere 60 years old vampire.
A 60 years old vampire running/overtaking the London motherhouse. Sure.
There is of course more, and here we get to the lovely Raglan.
Who was a JOY this episode.
Not only does he pick Guy's pockets for the medication, but his comments and whole demeanor made me cackle more than once.
I absolutely loved that Raglan was able to clock Guy's abilities right away, and called it, too. And that he implicitly warned him about Amsterdam and made clear he was looking out for his own interests first and foremost.
Now Guy accompanies Raglan to the transaction - and what a transaction it is.
Not only is the whole thing gloriously gory (because of course shit goes wrong), but it is also perfectly underlined with Pat Banatar's "We belong" LMAO.
In any case, Raglan gets shot, but he gets what he was after - a suitcase full of vials of a 600 years-old vampire's blood.
Now... if you know the story of "The tale of the Body Thief", then you know that Raglan will, ultimately, end up "stealing" Lestat's body, for immortality... and power. (And his money)
Ragland loves power.
He revels in it, the canon expression of flaunting his (stolen) wealth and power on the cruise ship is his downfall, but never is it more clear, imho, as when he takes the vials of (already) powerful vampire blood... and only holds it up implying he has everything he needs to... heal his shoulder.
"This is all the hospital I need" indeed.
Not to collect it (or any vampire blood) to turn himself, no... if it were that, then it was made more than clear this episode that he has more than enough access already.
But the truly most interesting scene comes shortly after, when Jasper arrives in the hotel suite... and finds the "ancient" vampire that they (not even completely) drained to get the vials of blood.
Jasper calls the vampire in the bed "600, 700 years old. Born before the printing press, before the discovery of the New World".
Which... how would he know that? This age frame? How would he know where that vampire was born? Did he read the mind? Does he know that vampire? If Jasper really is only 60 years old, then ... that is a massive display of power - and experience.
Which leads to the next part - his little rant speech against the Talamasca:
"The Talamasca watches? They're always there? They keep things in balance? Bullshit. This, this goes against everything we believe. What good are they, if they can let this happen right under their noses? Back when the Talamasca started, vampires like him, they had a seat at the table. They were there in the beginning. And when there's more of us... they'll be there again. You watch."
And then he just kills that... "ancient" vampire. Just like that.
Imho there is NO WAY that Jasper is only a few decades old.
Not only does he know too much about the old Talamasca, no, he also slips, imho: "this goes against everything we believe". And: "vampires like him".
Oh, so vampires a few hundred years old had a seat at the table when the Talamasca started????
Yep. That tracks with canon.
Because the Talamasca were founded by vampires and ghosts (Gremt, Hesketh and Teskhamen (Marius' maker)), triggered ultimately by an encounter of a ghost with Pandora.
In the year 752.
I think he ... is hiding in plain sight.
Which is why he also knows the old lore, of the iron head cages, making controllable revenants, and so on. Can kill supposedly ancient vampires. Can overtake and run a Talamasca motherhouse.
If I am right, then the reveal wrt this will be only something for the upcoming seasons though... there is no way they will do this reveal this season. So... we'll see. Eventually 😈
Honorable mention: twins, twins, more twins. A twin named "Rose", and the fitting music: "Ring of the Roses", WHICH, in turn, is extremely interesting not only through the name connection, but also by the connection to the "great plague"...
Mega quick and mega messy thing I did because I needed to get it out of my brain. Dunno if I'll ever come back to fix it. (*I came back and fixed some small parts. Didn't help but now it just doesn't bother me as much)
Based on The Reluctant Bride by Auguste Toulmouche. (I guess we can call this one The Reluctant God of the Grove).
I couldn't decide between modern day Teskhamen and his BBQ self so now he's just a "halo of white hair" with crispy hands.
Marius-centric comic. The following 9+ pages are closely based on Prince Lestat and The Vampire Lestat. (CW for violent imagery including a vampire turning)
to be continued
I initially didn't plan to spend THIS much time on this part of Marius' Story in TVL; the concept of this comic is to show some parts of Marius' life with the connecting theme of flowers, in quick succession.
Not sure how many pages the rest of the comic will have since I keep adding stuff.............. will probably take awhile.
A little theory why I think William Fichtner is Teskhamen and how it adds to Justin Kirk being Marius De Romanus NOT Raglan James....
(short post and thanks to @nalyra-dreaming and @chicalepidoptera @jerydmenckunt for listening to my ramblings)
If you haven't already I have a very detailed theory on why Justin Kirk is NOT Raglan James but Marius De Romanus in disguise
Now for this one-
1 - Justin Kirk filmed in the UK mid Jan and I recently had it confirmed that this was “pretty much” Talamasca. Justin said it was “Top secret…a lot of fun…outside of the country and from a work perspective a great one…likely to come out spookier season” (x)
Talamasca is filming and I have a friend who knows someone working on Talamasca. I asked if Justin was working on it and they said they "aren't allowed to say" which is typically industry speak for "yes but I have an NDA". This is hearsay but it does allign with what Justin was saying.
This was recorded the a few days before 19/01/25 so he hadn't not long returned at the point of recording, Talamasca was still filming
2 - That got me having a little nosey around the crew instagram accounts- specifically the hair, make up and prosphetics and I found something that could be interesting.
(note for those that don't know, these trailers have photos from filming on the walls, its very typical of every production)
One photo was blocked out (x)
BUT then a few weeks later, when filming wrapped, it was posted without the block. (x)
This is it zoomed in:
You can see Elizabeth McGovern wearing a similar outfit from when she was on set filming and William Fichtner in the other highlighted photo. This is 100% from the set.
(image cred x )
3 - Look at the photos closely and you can see a character burnt . I think this is Teskhamen and William is actually that character!
This looks like William to me and it looks very burnt and maybe in a grove ish setting. The place where Marius was changed. It’ll be ballsy to do a Marius reveal in a spin off but it could work and I have faith in this more than I do Mayfair plus they've already shwon there's characters from the main show coming over for a visit. (x)
The mouths look the same to me and given that the photos are close togeher I think we are looking at the same person but the darker one looks very forrest/grove/cave like and Teskhamen is known as The God of the Grove!
4 - Teskhamen is the founder of the Talamasca, the maker of Marius and known as the God of the Grove. I can’t see him in IWTV BUT it makes perfect sense for him to be in Talamasca given that he founded it! (x)
5 - So back to Justin and Marius. Rolin and Justin have worked together for years- Justin could even be considered his muse. Casting him as a character like Raglan is so ooc for Rolin as detailed here and in the Marius theory post.
When Rolin has cast Justin, the roles have always been roles of prominence and long-lasting ones that go above one season
6 - And the podcast- why would Raglan be with the Talamasca series when he will likely be a temporary character and hardly have something with another series that would be “Top secret…a lot of fun…outside of the country and from a work perspective a great one…” to quote JKirk
So I think Justin Kirk is Marius de Romanus and William Fichtner is Teskhamen

The toxic dynamic between Marius and his maker Teskhamen
Teskhamen wanted Marius to be kidnapped, raped into vampire existence and to save the vampire tribe/become the keeper of Akasha and Enkhil. Marius seems only to blame the druid priest Mael for this. Teskhamen seems fascinating and friendly to Marius, but I'm here to argue he is manipulative as well. I will analyze their reunion in Prince Lestat.
Marius thinks all those years (2000 years!!!) that Teskhamen is dead. His maker never let him know he actually survived the burning. Or offer any help with Those Who Must Be Kept. But then he approaches Marius. Why? Of course, you have the vampire crisis, Amel coming into consciousness and the changed structure of the Talamasca. But I think there is another layer: for the first time ever, Marius wants to sit this crisis out. He wants to hole up with Daniel (hunting together, watching movies) and wait till the storm is over.
But then his old maker is suddenly on his doorstep (again, after 2000 years of silence!!!). Because Teskhamen has chosen Marius for the task to carry the burden of vampire survival and he is here to remind Marius of his duty and the purpose he was made for. He does it with a lot of flattering and making sure no difficult questions are asked. Though soft-spoken and friendly, this creature is full of manipulation and bullshit.
This is how he approaches Marius:
"Marius," he said. "My beloved, my savior of long ago, my friend."
"I know you?' asked Marius politely. Even as he clapsed the hand he divined nothing but what the agreeable and open face reflected: friendship. No danger.
During the conversation he is constantly flattering Marius, saying he is his savior, that he never had known a being like him, he compares him to the sum of sunshine on marble floors. Just friendly? Or a tactic to de-escalate the situation so Marius will not be angry with him? And, even more importantly, will do what he wants him to do?
Marius is deeply emotional which shows how much this meeting means to him (so why did Teskhamen not get into touch earlier?):
Something quickened in Marius, something he had not felt in a very long time. [...] But Marius was changed. Changed forever.
Teskhamen tells his story, which includes the founding of the Talamasca in 748. But the important questions are not asked. Why did Teskhamen never tell Marius he was still alive? Why did he not share his knowledge with him? Why didn't he check in with him to see how the task of taking care of Akasha and Enkhil was going? Why didn't he offer his help? See if Marius needed anything to carry the burden? Clearly, it would have meant a lot to Marius. (And remember how Marius abuses Armand in a similar way, letting him believe he was dead for centuries.)
Marius doesn't ask these questions. Instead, he seems to react exactly like Teskhamen is hoping for:
Marius shuddered. He had so hoped somehow this would all pass without his active acknowledgment, that somehow his time of holding the survival of the tribe in his hands was past. Had he not cared for the Mother and Father for two millennia? But he knew now he could not remain on the sidelines any longer.
No, Marius, you only cared for Akasha and Enkhil for 2000 years, of course it is not enough. The vampire Teskhamen choose you to carry the burden and you cannot suddenly step out, take a break or retire. This is why your maker has shown up now. Marius probably doesn't notice, because of his vanity, need to be in control and savior complex (that Teskhamen is exploiting skillfully).
But Marius realizes:
"And you're not one of us?" Marius asked. "You are not coming yourself?"
No, Marius, he is not coming. This is not an emotional reunion after which you two will fight the world together. He is here to remind you of your duty, the task he put you on 2000 years ago. Not to get involved himself. Especially Daniel is grilling him over this and see how Teskhamen responds:
"We ourselves made no decision."
"Because you didn't have to," said Daniel. "Isn't that so?"
Teskhamen shrugged. He made a little gesture of agreement with his hands.
[...]
"I don't know," said Teskhamen softly.
[...]
Teskhamen put up his hands again but this time defensively. "Daniel," he said gently. "I honestly do not know."
No, he doesn't know, he doesn't want to make difficult decisions, he is just here to make sure Marius will act and make the decisions for him and the whole vampire tribe. Then he pulls a last trick, telling Marius about the ghost of his old friend Raymond Gallant:
Marius was astonished. He was almost moved to tears.
"Oh yes, Marius, you will see your beloved Raymond again, I assure you," said Teskhamen. [...] "But allow us our old caution, our old passivity, even now."
"I understand," said Marius. "You want us to come together as a tribe, the very same thing that Benji wants. You want us to do the very best that we can in the face of this challenge - without your intervention."
Teskhamen uses emotional manipulation to get Marius in a soft spot to agree with everything he wants. Even though just before Teskhamen couldn't defend his position of passivity to Daniel. If Raymond means so much for Marius, why didn't he bring them into contact earlier? Why not right now? No, it seems like there is a condition for this meeting. Marius first has to play the savior once again.
"You're a splendid being, Marius," said Teskhamen.
Of course, Marius is a splendid being, a good soldier, who will once again carry out your wishes and take on the burden of vampire existence. This is the reason why you made him a vampire and you will make sure he stays on this path. While you can just watch and observe.
i know that the team said they were thinking nothing of the sort when they were asked about blood and gold's cameo in the talamasca but it's kinda special to me... marius' book in a show about his papa's organisation...
