Not to sound like a decrepit, rambling corpse about it, but back in my day Word used to be a pre installed program that came with your computer, if you were running Windows.
No subscription. Just program.
On your computer. You got to use it forever and ever and never had to worry about it going away.
Because it was physically on your computer. As a program. That you actually owned. Not because you got it separately, but because it was a standard inclusion with your computer.
I'm sorry but I'll just never get over it. I remember when companies cared about their products being usable out of the box. I remember when our things belonged to us.
Old man shaking fist at cloud, wherein the cloud is the background of the Windows 98 logo.

the crazy thing is the entire episode really is about loustat and there's gonna be that corner of the fandom who will whine and catastrophize no matter what, but like the whole entire point is still loustat. it's crazy how poignant the crater left behind by louis is. the entire episode lestat is running from the gaping wound in the shape of his broken family. louis is hardly on screen and yet his shadow shapes the entire episode. even the presence of gabrielle is about the absence of the love lestat needs from louis
I can't stop thinking about the way they framed the end of that episode, the way they clearly wanted us to wonder if Lestat had been texting Louis, but then Gabi comes in, and when she is revealed Lestat begins to stutter again...
Children who have been severely abused can often develop a stutter. I have seen this in my own family. This show is telling us exactly what this is right from the very start. The framing and the reveal make this clear Lestat/Gabi is meant to juxtapose Louis/Lestat. And more clearly, how bad Gabi clearly is for Lestat. And I have to assume the show will be juxtaposing this with how good Louis actually is for Lestat later on in the season...
Lestat cannot even speak her name at first, that's how immediate and awful the stutter is. He looked like a child early on in the episode when he was texting her, begging her to come to him. How many times had he begged her before? How many times had she denied him? Oh this is going to hurt so so good...
I have been so nervous since screeners went out about my boy but after the little we saw of Nicolas de Lenfent Iâm just ready, heâs my little guy and heâs doing simply terrible and heâs perfect
I love him a lot! Book and show version and I love what Jospeh does. I want more of him and fuck me, his scenes are very strong!
You do get some light scenes too, it's not all dark!
There is literally no way he isnât, episode 7 is going to have Justin Kirk trying to force down a plate of spaghetti and meatballs for a loooooong time, calling it now
I have no idea! Remember some things about Justin's role this season:
Justin Kirk was filming up until the very last day when filming was extended
October 17th (way into filming I believe) Justin had different glasses to pick up as part of his Raglan costume. Could be nothing but interesting.
I think that he has scenes with the band in the final episode based on something someone from the show told me

i just finished the first ep and i feel completely sick at the ending...i struggle to see how the writers continue to use vampirism to justify it in interviews. are we meant to be at all sympathetic or understanding of a character doing that behavior with someone so clearly unwell? even as the eps go on? or is it pretty much if you feel sick now/you'll feel sick later in your opinion? i tried to keep this vague as i know everyone has not watched.
If you're on about Gabrielle then good. That is meant to be uncomfortable.
I'm glad they've been more upfront about her abuse to Lestat because people will (willingly imo) ignore it and have done when they talk about her book version. Gabrielle is fascinating character and she's not some victim that people brush her with in regard to Lestat. I talked a little about it
My show-only friend had the same reaction as you, she nearly stopped watching. I talk about that here
helen wasn't trying to look like raglan. she was wearing a disguise because shes a spy. that all it is. she wouldn't need to look like someone who is having a cameo in a future episode. raglan has no reason to swap with helen and the glasses don't show that its silly to think that. helen was about to leave her flat and attempt to drive to the site of that old school unnoticed. she was trying to see her sister in the mirror and wondering if she now wears glasses or has shorter hair. its about her sister not raglan. you fell for a red herring.
Hi anon, I donât know your intention but I really think you should kinda mind your tone? Iâm going to try and breakdown my reply to answer all your points but in a friendly/civil way 'kay :)
We all have our different thoughts. I think it's very very clear Helen was trying to look like Raglan. Why? I donât know for certain. Iâve seen the entire season and that scene is literally so randomly put in and never addressed. Plus, she looks uncannily like him when she does that!
Iâll summarize from this post but she makes her glasses look like his by pushing the lenses out, she smooths her hair to look more masculine, her features are hardened and made to look angular when hers are more rounded and soft and she has a warmer look. In that scene I think she looks harsher. Unlike herself. She looks very different.
(pics from the same ep)
Not to be pedantic but Raglan doesnât have a cameo, it's a guest role. He is in a huge chunk of the episode and one of the main parts of it. So it isnât âsomeone who is having a cameoâ plus Raglan has an entire book about what he does and Rolin has said that they are building to TOTBT so I think it makes sense we see hints of it? Not to mention we already have from IWTV S2E06.Â
Raglan does have a reason to swap with Helen or anyone high up in the order. He lays out his intentions in IWTV s2. He wants to run the order. I think weâre getting a more expanded view on him from the books and thatâs great, I love that!
Did we see her wear that disguise outside of that scene? No. Not in the past or future episodes. Reminder: I have seen the full season, I know :) AnywayâŚShe could have worn a better disguise, we legit see a brown wig on a stand next to her in the mirror so if she was trying to disguise herself why wouldnât she just put that on? Why destroy her glasses, smooth her hair down? You get the gist. She would have been more unnoticed if she wore the wig but she didnât. She didnât wear any disguise so that point doesnât make sense to me.Â
Nonnie, how can she be trying to see her sister? If theyâre identical twins (and I think the show was trying to say they are) then she wouldnât need to alter her appearance. Her and her sister would look identical provided they had no cosmetic surgeries. They were split up when they were children, when they had long dark brown hair and no glasses so why would putting on glasses, smoothing her grey hair down be her trying to see her sister and wondering about her appearance? Sheâs her twin, she knows what she will look like. Also: the dark brown wig is right there!
If she wanted to do that, wouldnât she put someone on that would make her look like the last time she saw her sister?Â
It could be a red herring. Iâm fine if it is. Its just fun the theorise.Â
Also its not âsillyâ to think anything. Its a theory, chill out. Enjoy the season. Next ep is my fave.
if you wanna know helen's real name, its under the cut. there's a tiny detail about her twin too thats won't give anything away.
Do we think Helen has been body swapped with Raglan James?
My points:
she takes glasses that looks like his, pops the frames out so they match his glasses. This is VERY purposeful and his glasses have a distinct look, the way she's looking at them before she pops out the lenses is quite interesting , looks contemplative to me.
has similar hair colour but smooths it down to (in my opinion) make it look masculine,
she's wearing neutral clothes in a very similar colour scheme to what he wears in talamasca (grey),
the mannerism are not what we've from her or what we will see in future episodes. We see her with a harsher expression when normally her facial features are quite soft while Ragaln's is quite angular and sharp and it looks like that's what she's trying to do her, even with pursing of her lips. It looks like she's trying to sharpen her features, make them more angular. More like Raglan.
She looks like she's examining her face. Even when she takes off the glasses, her face is down, she's trying out the new disguise. Her expression still remains quite harsh.
THE MIRROR, there's two reflections that we can see but its a three mirror vanity. It reminded me of Mulholland Drive the mirror scene. It's a scene about identity and memories, it is reflecting the split personality of Naomi Watt's character, and it looks visually similar and I hope they took inspo.
The mirror in Talamasca is a three mirror, there's a disguise (wig) blocking one of the three sections. Could be reflective (see what I did there?) about Helen's identity taken over and a new person (Raglan) has control.
You can't deny that Helen looks SO MUCH like Ragaln here, its so purposeful.
I think Helen has body swapped with Raglan.
Note: I've seen the entire season, there is a Helen reveal coming but its NOTHING to do with Raglan but its interesting that his episode is the next one and she is making herself look like him. She's obviously high up in Talamasca and lets remember this line from IWTV S2:
Raglan seemingly wants to run the Order and knows body swapping is the way to do it. Helen is the leader of the New York Motherhouse trying to rid the London one of its corruption, she'd be a great swap for Raglan if thats what he wants.
as the resident Justin Kirk obsessive, that was NAWT how he plays Raglan. I know that man inside and out, I know his performances and his mannerisms. Justin was playing a different character.
I think we've seen Raglan swap before in Talamasca.

oh sorry Armand messing with Nickiâs mind to have him chop his own hands off though Iâm almost certain thatâs been jossed by someone else for show nickimand
You don't really see much of Armand Nicky.
Nicky doesn't take well to vampirism and you see that very clear and very strong. It's hard to watch but Joseph does a fantastic job. Do I think someone might have been in his head too? Yes. I'm not entirely sure it was Armand or just Armand.
This isn't a spoiler, it's just a feeling I have on the episodes.
