Just found out that white man who owned Destination BBQ or whatever the hell the name is, not only fired Walter Johnson but then tried to trademark the name "Tendernism" for himself. Only to immediately find out that a Black lawyer, Kenneth Harris, had already trademarked the word with intent-to-use in Fall 2025. Kenneth then gifted the rights to the name to Walter free of charge.

Now Walter plans to open a food truck, visit other hidden gem BBQ places across the US to highlight them, and share the culture of barbecuing how WE do it.

I expect to see Keith Lee headass and Jordan Howlett visit his upcoming food truck the same way they visited the restaurant that Walter popularized by his viral catchphrase, mouth AND eye watering slide-off-the-bone videos of his bbq.

This reminds me of how Left Eye foresaw just how important and vital the Dot Com era would be for artists and therefore bought as many domain names as she could for her artist friends and gifted the domains to them in the hopes that they would own their own sites.
