I did a thing :)
Meet Valondil Merilórë of Nargothrond
Valondil Merilórë is a high elf warden who has just recently gotten his bearings on the state of Middle Earth after waking up from a three-thousand-ish year long coma. Everyone thinks he sustained a wound from a morgùl blade during the early stages of the Last Alliance's siege of Mordor, but he got a liiittle clumsy chasing after a Nazgùl and took a tumble down a very large flight of stairs. Whoops.
His cousin Valfindes Valarion, a captain in the same battle, did manage to track down that Nazgùl and did take a morgùl blade wound. Elrond was REALLY pleased to have gotten so much experience in treating that type of wound over the last several millennia, and Valondil wasn't exactly keen on correcting his medical diagnosis.
Valondil just got to Bree after dealing with some goblin and Dourhand dwarf shenanigans in Ered Luin and is very pleased that the Valar have granted him the Undying title! (I, for some reason, decided to make this warden on +4 landscape difficulty, so I'm gonna chalk the low dps, randomly extra buff enemies and ungodly amounts of Sauron Nukes to Valondil's battle skills having deteriorated a bit from three millennia of not practicing and a fair bit of lingering dread from his time in Mordor.)
He's gonna hang around in Bree-land for a while and help out when he can. Although he did hear that his cousin Valfindes had woken from her morgùl coma several months before he did and is somewhere in Rohan.
Have some screenshots!
Bit of a close up. Val's pleased that scar healed up decently. It certainly felt like it would have been a lot worse when an orc managed to land a hit.
Side profile, if all 3 of the people who find this are interested :)
The standard warden stabby-stick is nice, but it just feels right to have a sword. Sometimes showing off with a twirl mid-swing was a fun animation for High Elf Wardens i didn't expect but I think it fits.
Naming him was a bit difficult, most of the Val- names on peregrin were already taken. I think Valondil is alright though. For the surname Merilórë I used a mix of sindarin and quenya. Meril- rose and órë- heart, respectively. If anyone knows of a shield or cape that has a rose pattern/emblem on it, that'd be great to add to Valondil's outfit!
Anyway I hope to see some of you guys around on Peregrin! It would be cool to meet the legendary Tossdir or Saephrond in my travels. Or just join Weatherstock next time that comes around :P
I will still be playing my main characters over on Glamdring, in addition to swtor and wow so progressing Val may be slower. At least i can join events now! (throws confetti)
