The History of the Temple of Horus

Built during the Ptolemaic period (237–57 BC), the temple was constructed over an earlier structure dating back to the New Kingdom. It stands as a testament to the continuation of ancient Egyptian religious traditions under Greek rule. The inscriptions on its walls narrate mythological battles between Horus and Seth, symbolizing the eternal struggle between good and evil.

I went to Egypt a couple of times, to see all the temples and tombs over there! :D

Highly recommended trip if you can make it.  The temples are pretty amazing in person.  I still can’t beleive how well they were able to create all of the images and lettering in raised designs.  That takes about 10 times as long, since you have to carve out around each letter.  No wonder the temples took so long to build.

The frankincense stores were intersting as well, some of them had about 50 different types of frankincense!  Though it wasn’t all frankincense, since it seems they call everything that lol, but most were.  When you do go, make sure to bring a camera!  If such a trip would be more than a bit of a strain on your budget, go eithrer during the really hot time of the year, or in February.  Both times the airfare is much less.  During the hot times of year, the hotels and souvineers are much less.  I also recommend starting out each day at about 5am or before, to beat the heat!
