Feeling pretty bleurgh today what with my stomach acting up (thanks meds!) and being tired (nothing new there…) and pain has been kicking in badly …. BUT…. Despite that I wanted to make these - Witch’s Bells.

I’ve had the materials in for a few weeks now, maybe even a month or so, but just haven got round to making them, but I always envisioned the first one being purple!

Witches bells are traditionally hung on the door, often around the handle, and it’s the cleansing vibration made by the sounds of the bells that is supposed to offer protection for the home and ward away negative spirits and energy.

These days you’ll find witches bells adorn altars, walls and mantelpieces as a form of decoration as well as the traditional way of displaying them.

I chose these mini natural grapevine wreaths as it serves a dual purpose and let’s you hang the bells on a door handle or hang by the ribbon attached using a nail in the wall or where ever you like!

I also had a whole bunch of these teeny tiny brooms that I had ordered by mistake and needed to use them somehow - and I think they look great on the wreath!

I’m planning on making an autumn/Halloween style one next with orange and black as the main colours, and I have some lovely Halloween themed charms too. I’ll post an update when I’ve done some ☺️

🚧 WIP ⚠️ Can you guess what I’m designing? Basically I decided to follow a prompt I saw - it was fairly open ended but to the point, and as soon as I read which one I wanted to do - boom - circus theme music starts up in my head and images or jesters and harlequins came forth!

In fact - I’m not just planning on this one - there might be many many more too come get all based on the circus!

I’ve always loved circus, it’s utterly thrilling, a giggle a minute and lots of tense 😬 moments.

When I was studying art & design at college, we actually studied Cirque De Soleil in Life Drawing ✍️

We were tasked with drawing the complex poses of the acrobats and trapeze artists, focusing on how the body could contort and working on shading and light. I really enjoyed it, but we didn’t half have some odd looking pictures at the end of it 😂

This particular piece still has some elements to be added yet; on of which is puppet strings…. Are you any closer to guessing? Leave me a comment below 👇 stay tuned for the final design 🧡✨
