Nylah living with him for the past two months had been going good. Not that Tahj had any doubts, he was pretty laid and didn't ask for much. And Nylah had him all to herself so she was happy. But for the last two hours, she was anything but happy.
Looking up from the screen of his laptop, Tahj noticed his girlfriend standing in the doorway of their bedroom.
"What's up, Lah?" He asked softly.
"Uh, no, I didn't. What you need, beautiful?"
Sucking her teeth, Nylah walked back out of the room fussing. "I could've been on the floor dying and you sitting in here ignoring me."
Tahj shook his head going back to what he was doing. He wasn't the arguing type. Whenever she decided to tell him what was bothering her, he would listen.
"I swear you don't listen. If you don't want me here, I'll leave. At least my sister doesn't ignore me."
"Yeah she does," Tahj chuckled.
Moments later, Nylah was back in the doorway glaring at him. Slowly, Tahj looked up from the screen and started to laugh.
"What? She does, shit, I ain't lie," he laughed.
Nylah mocked his laughter then rolled her eyes. "I'm glad you find this so funny, Tahj. You better sleep with one eye open."
Tahj picked up his phone and went to his DoorDash app.
"You want Wendy's or you want barbecue?"
Nylah stopped mid rant and hummed, "Wendy's. 2 Spicy Nuggets, fries and tea. Sweet and sour sauce."
With his girlfriend fed, Tahj was able to go back to listening to the beats Hakeem sent him and writing. She ate her food in the living room then talked to her sister. Tahj was happy she'd stopped all that yelling.
But about an hour after that, she was yelling again. Refusing to engage, Tahj put his headphones on and continued listening to beats. Every now and then, he'd notice that Nylah would walk into their room yelling and touching things but he couldn't hear her.
Next, he felt something hit his arm promoting him to pull his headphones off and sit them side. He stared at her.
"I know you ain't throw nothin at me, Lah."
Proud of herself, Nylah smirked as she folded her arms across her chest.
"Yup, sure did. You weren't listening to me."
"A simple tap would've done the job. Don't throw nothing else at me. I'm not playin."
Nylah rolled her eyes and mocked him, "What? I'm supposed to be scared. That shit ain't even hurt, Tahj."
Tahj closed his laptop and put it on his nightstand. He but his lip and watched his girlfriend fuss for a few moments.
"Aye, cut that out," he requested.
"No, I'm not. You gon hear my mouth tuhday, boo. Nope and I'm not close to being done. You been in here all day on that damn laptop like you don't have me in there by myself."
Tahj smirked then gestured with his fingers, "Come here."
"Man," he chuckled softly and pulled gently at his beard, "Come 'ere."
"For what," she sassed crossing the room to him.
Once she was close enough, he pulled her into the bed with him and onto his lap. His hands went to her butt.
"If you wanted your butt rubbed that's all you had to say, " he smirked. "I gotchu, I can do that for you."
For the first time in the last few hours, Nylah smiled. Her smile let him know that's exactly what she wanted-- attention, to be fed and for him to rub her butt.
