If I have said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Do not share your cues or programs online! You do not know these people! I do not want to fearmonger, but the internet houses all sorts of folk. It is like giving someone ammunition and then trusting them to not shoot you - you cannot be 100% sure they won't ! Of course - close friends whom you know are safe, vetted, etc are different, but even then I would be cautious.

Currently some systems are being sent incredibly graphic NSFW content, I am only aware of this occurring on Tumblr at the moment, but it could be happening elsewhere too.

Stop admitting who and what is in your system-- anything beyond names and age ranges should be considered personal information because abusers and manipulators can and will use that information against you. 

By admitting who in your system is a trauma holder, you’re allowing abusers and manipulators to know who’s most easily triggered, and there are standard “trigger buttons” and “hot topics” that are likely to apply to almost everyone.

By admitting you have certain “fictives” or “factives” or “introjects”, or whatever term you’ve chosen to use, you’re allowing abusers and manipulators to create common ground between you and them-- topics of conversation to get closer, the opportunity to go, OHHH, GUESS WHO I’VE GOT IN MY SYSTEM??

By admitting who your gatekeepers are, you’re giving abuser and manipulators the knowledge of who they need to get closest to in order to have the most power over your system. 

By admitting who is the least connected to reality, or who experiences the highest dissociative barriers, you’re giving abusers and manipulators the knowledge of who they can attack easiest without being noticed. 

By admitting what alters are most affected by certain mental illnesses or disorders (for example, if you also suffer from BPD or OCD) you’re giving abusers and manipulators the ability to use those other issues against that alter and your system.

I wanted to advise those in the community - especially the younger systems that might need it - but do not be loose with who you let know about your triggers may that be positive or negative. Especially, do not share which alters are specifically triggered by specific topics.

That kind of information is heavily personal and letting the public know about that can put you in an vulnerable place. You really shouldn’t be telling strangers on the internet things that can cause you to have psychological changes and cause you dysregulation loosely - may this be something that will cause you to switch or have a flashback.

That sort of information is best kept general if you are requesting something to be tagged (as in do not give specifics, just ask for a tag that you can filter) or kept to the specific individuals you interact with and can trust with that information.

We personally only talk about positive triggers that are on the weaker end, that are practically given from the interests that they talk about (Lucille with piano music for example), and vague mentions of triggers that we need tagged - but even for those we prefer to try to find a common tag in that topic as to keep that trigger secret to the public.

Triggers are personal and easily manipulable points for systems, so I strongly recommend people - especially younger systems - to withhold from loosely sharing them unless carefully thought over / people don’t seem to tag the content and it is a request that needs to be mad.

Our personal opinion is that especially strong positive triggers should not be shared since they do give information and a degree of control to other people beyond the system. For some of our strongest positive triggers, we don’t even tell our fiance.

If you have to share a trigger, keep it as vague as possible and don’t let individuals that you don’t trust know which alter it specifically bothers the most. That is not safe behavior and is practically painting a target sign on yourself.

Stay safe out there and protect yourselves. You don’t need to share as private and personal information such as triggers to fit in or be valid, so keep yourselves safe.

This is just something that has strongly concerned myself about this community, that is all.
