I hate being a system right now
I hate the reason for us having to exist
I hate how much it makes school harder now
I hate the fact were gonna have to split a group of guys to do school
I hate the fact we have a group of guys to appease our parents
I hate the fact I can't remember what happened this week because i took a break
I hate that all of us are affected by our disorders, arent some of the brain friends supposed to be better at handling it??
And I hate we cant get a lot done most days
But what i dont hate is my headmates
I hate the disorder and the reason we have it, but i love my headmates. I love how hard were all trying. I love the silly moments, I love that i will never be alone, I love our caretakers, I love our protectors, I love our trauma holders, I love our subsystems, I love how diverse we all get to be. I love the world and community we get to create together.
I hate how hard living with this disorder is, but i would never hate my headmates for doing aer best and i think thats beautiful.

"me", "singlet", couldnt love myself. couldnt stand up for myself. couldnt treat myself for a nice snack. couldnt allow myself to be happy.
us, plural? still struggling, but we love each other so much that we allow each other happiness.
my smaller sister felt she didnt deserve a pricey snack, i bought it for her regardless. one of us hated themself, and fish came to comfort them. she let them know that they arent bad, and that theyre allowed to cry and scream and be hurt. that she is here for them.
we are learning self love through loving each other. i love being plural, i love my sysmates, i love that theyre here for me and that i can be here for them. were, no pun intended, our own support system.

It's nights like tonight that I truly love my system
Those comforting nights where things are really clear and you all have that "found family" feeling and you all kind of accept (to varying eye rolling degrees) that you're in this together
That feeling makes a lot of crap worth it

i love my alters. all of them. we wouldn’t be alive right now if it wasn’t for them. i love the persecutors in our system, they’re scared and angry just like the rest of us are, they’re still relearning love. i love our protectors for being so brave and defending us. i love our caretakers for understanding our needs and making sure we take care of ourselves, whether that be in headspace or in the real world. i love our trauma holders for making it through everything and learning how to cope with us. i love our littles for staying so strong when they’re still just kids. i love our littles who really aren’t kids and help take care of everything. i love everyone who has such a specific role i cant even fit it here! i love my partners in-sys. i love my family in-sys. i love my siblings. i love my friends. we have a life outside of the system but these little people and things in my brain have kept us alive when we didn’t have anyone but the different versions of ourself we didn’t even know about yet. and they keep all of us from turning into the people who hurt us, or the past versions of ourself where we’re too scared to leave our room. i’m proud of all of my alters. they’re the greatest
