Today’s Adventure
Mount Nebo State Park in Yell County, Arkansas, is a historic park atop a 1,350-foot table top mountain with panoramic views of the Arkansas River Valley. The drive up Highway 155 is challenging with tight switchbacks, limiting RVs over 24 feet.
While Mount Nebo State Park is often associated with the nearby mountains, it is technically located in the Arkansas River Valley. It serves as a transitional zone between the Ozarks to the north and the Ouachitas to the south.
Mount Nebo is often described as an "island in the sky" because it is a synclinal mesa—a flat-topped mountain that sits isolated above the surrounding Arkansas River Valley.
