So I wanted to post this because, among other reasons, I find the possible implications of this so funny and interesting.

A more thorough explanation of everything under the cut, but TL;DR: Suki wants to avoid embarrassing Toph in front of everyone and only has a panicked moment to come up with something.

Finishing up Women’s History Month with three of my favorite ladies of all time!

Good question!  I’ve never really thought about this before.  Here’s how I would do it:

1) Azula x Sokka (Sokkla) - it’s my OTP because they’re the two most intelligent characters in the series

2) Zuko x Jet (Jetko) - for the angst and a severely missed opportunity

3) Aang x Ty Lee (AangLee) - because I really couldn’t ship Aang with any of the other nonbenders, and I think they’d be the most positive, optimistic duo ever

4) Toph x Suki (Sutoph) - I mean, Toph did kiss Suki when Suki saved her life (yeah I know she thought it was Sokka, but still)

5) Katara x Mai (Maitara) - I’m pretty neutral on this one, but it’s a good ship

Alternative choices for 1) and 2):

1*) Zuko x Sokka (Zukka) - because I love this ship so much and it deserves attention

2*) Azula x Jet (Jetzula) - they would have made a super villainous badass team

So while I'm not really a multishipper (I obsess over maybe a handful of ships), I wouldn't say I outwardly ship them, but I am happy to support content others make, especially my tumblr friends! :)

There are really only like... three ships I actively seek out content for and that I'm curious about how different scenarios are handled, but I'm happy to read, reblog, and maybe even write about most ships (there are a few I won't and will likely make them platonic haha!), but yeah Suki/Toph seems interesting and cute!

They're both badass women that know themselves well. They don't take shit from people, and they're really smart. I can see them being great friends and/or partners if the opportunity presented itself.

I hope this answers your question, Anon! Shipping in ATLA is weird for me, because I've never really considered many pairs in a romantic lens, but I've written a few prompts and a couple of my Tumblr friends are multishippers. Anyway, thank you again for the ask, and I hope you have a great day!

Pairing: Toph Beifong/Suki

This is a tough one, anon!  I had to think about it for a while.  Here we go:

Pair 1. Aang x Katara (Kataang) - I’m sure this comes as a surprise to no one.  They’re one of my many OTPs!  Bryke made it canon, and I would too.

Pair 2. Sokka x Azula (Sokkla) - Again, this is probably obvious to anyone who follows me.  I would sell my soul for this ship!  Make Sokkla canon, PLEASE!

Pair 3. Zuko x Jet (Jetko) - I love these two boys together, and I also sort of headcanon that Zuko is not straight.  Of course, this ship depends on Jet being alive.  If I had Bryke’s power, I wouldn’t have killed off Jet and I’d make him Zuko’s fire husband XD

Pair 4. Mai x Ty Lee (MaiLee) - This is where things got complicated for me.  While I do ship Mai and Ty Lee, I prefer Ty Lee with Suki.  But then that would leave Mai with Toph, and I don’t really think that would work out.  Besides, these two are awfully cute together!

Pair 5. Toph x Suki (Tophuki?  Sutoph?) - Just because of this scene right here.  Aren’t they adorable?
