57- “I got us matching shirts!” Ty Laang
“Aaaaaang!” Ty Lee called into the apartment excitedly, pocketing her spare key. He didn’t call out a greeting and she pouted. She bounced over to his room and opened the door without knocking.
He was sitting at his desk with headphones on, bent over a notebook and writing furiously. Ty Lee observed the soda cans and empty snack wrappers. Had he pulled an all nighter studying for his exams?
So they probably weren’t going on their breakfast date then…
She called his name again but he didn’t hear her. Time for the scare tactic then, she couldn’t resist.
Ty Lee pounced on him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. He startled momentarily before recognizing it was just his girlfriend.
“Oh. Hi, babe.” Aang pulled his headphones off and smiled tiredly at her, resting his hands on her forearms.
She pouted, “How long have you been up studying?”
“Uh….” He glanced at the clock, “…All night?”
Ty Lee sighed, pulling back to rub his shoulders. He practically melted in his seat at her touch.
“Time to get some sleep, hon. But first!” She pulled away to rummage in her bag. “I got us matching shirts!”
Aang glanced at the shirt and immediately began cackling. It was a cropped picture of their Biochem professor’s face on the Gandalf meme ‘You shall not pass.’
He jumped up, energy renewed as he grabbed the shirt from her. “Where did you even get this?! I’m gonna wear it all week.”
Ty Lee giggled, “I special ordered it. I’m glad it got here on time! I knew you’d love it.”
“About as much as I love you!” He chirped, leaning down to kiss her cheek. “Awe man, I’ve gotta show this to the group chat!”
She crossed her arms. “Sleep first, Aang!”
Aang frowned as he glanced at the clock again. “Aren’t we supposed to go to that diner?”
Ty Lee scoffed and grabbed his arm to drag him over to his mattress. “You think I’m gonna make you go out after an all nighter? Just take a nap.”
“Hmm…. Only if you take one with me!” He wrapped his arms around her waist and fell back on the bed as she laughed.
She turned in his arms and cuddled into his chest. “Okay, just a short nap…”
