A photo from a couple weeks ago - I arrived nice and early one full hour before sunrise. I got set up and waited, and about 10 minutes before sunrise I notice an Sun pillar forming. This is the first time I have seen one of these in person. Light pillars are formed in very cold weather - ice crystals in the air.
