This beautiful decorated page comes from the manuscript Stundenbuch der Maria von Burgund. It was produced around 1477 and is a devotion book for lay-people. It was very lickely commisioned for Mary, duchess of Burgundy. She was one of the richest women of her time. The manuscript is beautifully decorated and shows the richness of the burgundian court. The book contains 20 full-page decorations and many more smaller ones. This decoration is an image of Saint Katherine.

Contains a bombastic mistranslation that is repeated - and loved - all over the social media world: "No feeling is final". Original German is: "Kein Gefühl ist das fernste." Literally: "No feeling is the most remote" or "most distant." Now someone please tell me how that "most remote" ends up being "final". Typical Rilke: all wishy-washy in some muddled emotional swamp.
