friday 27.9.19 - 15/100 days of productivity
today was massively unproductive, again, but that’s ok. tomorrow is a new day! enjoy my notes on the adaptive immune system that I have yet to properly highlight (pen is drying) ✨
Sorry for not posting in such a long time. I've had some stress issues surrounding school as well as some mental health problems.
Anyway as I'm trying to get my life back on track, I've decided to set some reminders on my phone so I don't forget to post on here. So hopefully that'll result in some more activity from me
Also sorry for the bad lighting in this picture. I pulled an all nighter when I took this so this was taken at around 2 am. Photoshop can only do so much 🤭

A Little Update!
Let me tell you this week has been one to say the least. My classes have been flipped upside down left and right and then completely thrown away. I am taking AP US history, Spanish, literature, physics and seminary (an lds religion class) Which won’t be too much homework but with work it’s going to be a struggle. Happy to start posting again on here!

Hi your notes are beautiful and I’m wondering how you keep them so neat, often when I’m taking notes for biology or chemistry they tend to become so messy with scribbles in the margins and notes kinda going all around the page! Any tips?
http://amzn.to/2mtnw9PHi! Thanks for the question. As for making my notes neat and preventing scribbles everywhere, I would say not to be too worried about making little notes. I rewrite my notes multiple times, because for me it helps me learn the content better than if I were to re-read it. Once I’ve done my basic notes I’ll kind of map it out the pages for my nicer version, which helps keep it a little more organised. For each module of a class I will take my notes essentially four times in total:
1. From the lecture slides as standard notes where I’m free to highlight and colour code where need be (before the lecture for that section)2. During the lecture on my laptop as the professor speaks (though I’ll occasionally use a spare notebook if the lecture is diagram heavy)3. As a nice copy of my notes where I can both combine and condense the information. This causes me to read it critically and find the most important information (I’ll generally turn 5-10 pages into one nice page)4. I make flashcards, which can be used at exam time if I want to, but again this helps to be critical with what is important.
In terms of storage, I put all of my paper notes in a binder and separate them by module with standard notes before the nice notes and I keep the flash cards in a document box.
The supplies I used most often for my standard notes:
Bic Cristal m ballpoint pen (black) - http://amzn.to/2Fy3xzDRuler - http://bit.ly/2D9wS54Daiso lined paperStabilo swing cool highlighters - http://amzn.to/2D01Lp5And occasionally… Uni kuru toga mechanical pencil and Staedtler triplus fineliners
The supplies I used most often for my nice notes:
Staedtler triplus fineliners 334 - http://amzn.to/2mtnw9PUni kuru toga mechanical pencil 0.5 - http://amzn.to/2DatjvjTombow fudenosuke brush pen hard tip - hhttp://amzn.to/2ED4jKiStabilo swing cool highlighters - http://amzn.to/2D01Lp5And occasionally… Sharpie markers, a super cheap watercolour palette, Crayola supertips, artline stix brush markers and a uni broad white gel pen.
*Amazon links are affiliate links meaning I get a small commission, but tbh I just use them for the shorter url. My blog is too small for me to make any real money from them and they don’t cost you anything more anyway.(I wrote this on my phone so I’m sorry if the formatting is a little dodgy. Also sorry I wrote way too much)
train yourself to be curious -- don't just mindlessly memorize facts and flash cards -- search for the 'why' and the 'how' of things and you'll be able to understand and apply it beyond just a written test! 💛
