Nothing happens over night. Take a flower for example. We plant the seed in the soil, we water it and we watch for a little sprout. Next thing you know a little bud has formed and you're filled with anticipation and excitement. waiting to see the beauty from this tiny little thing we've cared for for so long. We can be patient with this process because we know in our hearts that it takes time. we're taught to treat things with care and all good things come to those who wait.....if that's the case, why cant we all treat ourselves like that flower?...better yet why not treat our selves like a seed...the soil being our hardships hoping that the sunlight reaches us. Let the rain be our tears of happiness, of sadness, of strength. Let the bud be the inspiration that we are all still growing into what will be this beautiful colorful delicate thing. You are strong you amazing whatever you are going through right now...it doesn't define you hell in 3 weeks from now itll be a distant memory and you will be stronger because of it. <3
When life hands you lemons but no sugar
Ever disclose to someone and they say it’s ok but their body language betrays them? Telling a whole different story......nothing has ever made me feel more unwanted than getting close to someone and feeling them scoot away from me the second im getting a little too close for comfort and things are heating up...or that same person refusing to touch you without some piece of fabric still being there like some kind of security blanket..
It’s a Small World
So I’m day 3 into my new job as a pharmacy tech and let me tell you guys if you’ve ever felt alone in your battle with herpes let me tell you the amount of people out there with us is outstanding.
I don’t really want to use the word amazing because having herpes isn’t amazing or glorious by any means; but it’s amazing that everyday I get to interact with these people.
Who knows maybe one day a newly diagnosed person will make their way to my counter and I’ll be lucky enough to cash them out offer a friendly smile and whisper hey me too you are not alone. If I got to do just that for one person it would make my job 100% worth it.
So here’s to being that 1 in 8 but also let’s toast to being able to meet so many awesome people in this community that we’ve been so fortunate to stumble upon.
Let’s try our best to create even the smallest of differences by offering each other some support when we really need it most. Here’s to the next person that will be newly diagnosed you are just as wonderful as you were yesterday. Welcome to the journey
I Hate the Stigma
So I’m having this crisis....no one understands herpes and quite frankly it’s pissing me off. Yes I have herpes,yes I have breakouts, yes sometimes I feel gross and depressed about it...but more often than not I’m really gosh darn happy and living my best life yet. So why should the greater population be able to say we’re less than? I mean honestly, they don’t because let me tell you we are bad asses! Please people, educate yourselves ask questions have a heart and use your head. WE WILL NOT BE DEFINED! Quite frankly I’ve always hated how we compartamentalize people just because they aren’t “normal”.
