how is regina shippable with literally everyone
stablequeen aesthetic for one of my SLs on twitter 🥺
The reunion we deserved. The only reunion that could have been important and relevant to the show and to Regina.
ImagINE this! OMG I can’t!
What Daniel didn’t know was that the little girl who sometimes snuck out to the barn to play with him wasn’t allowed to wear pants. She retrieved them from a hiding place behind a potted plant and put them on before she crawled out the parlor window, sometimes sneaking a backward glance in the direction of her father, who winked at her and distracted the lady of the house with a tidbit of gossip about one corrupt royal or another while his little daughter ran up the hill, curls for days flowing behind her. He imagined that she wanted to pet the horses and kiss their velvety muzzles, maybe even daydream about riding them herself. He didn’t know that she was playing hide and seek with the stable boy’s son, crawling through mazes of barrels and tack boxes, catching hay in her hair and dirt on her cheeks, happier in these stolen moments than the prettiest gown could ever make her.
What Daniel didn’t know was that the cold, empty eyes the duchess of the manor looked at him with weren’t reserved just for him, for the help, or even for commoners. His own mother once whispered to him between a bedtime story and a good night kiss that the eyes were the window to the soul. There isn’t much to see when one looks at a window through which nothing lies behind.
What Daniel didn’t know was that the lanky twelve-year-old with the big brown eyes who was learning from him how to treat hoof infections and keep the bugs out of the oats sometimes fantasized about marrying him. She took her dolls that her father had bought for her at the market and crawled into her closet, and acted out their wedding ceremony. She planned out every last little detail, and she called upon those details to comfort her in times of distress. The foods that would be served, the tunes that would be played, the structure of the wedding arch, her dress, his robes, the flowers that would populate the gorgeous open field surrounding them, and that would adorn Rocinante’s saddle as they rode off into the sunset, together.
What Daniel didn’t know was that the first time he kissed the beautiful teenage girl who he’d just pulled from a runaway horse, he was making her wildest dream come true. He also didn’t know that he was putting his own life in danger by kissing her in an open field, within full view of her parents’ bedroom window. When she began to look around frantically, trembling, he asked her what was wrong, she replied, “If Mother saw that, she might kill me.” He didn’t know she wasn’t being metaphorical. Neither of them knew that the duchess would no more kill her daughter than she would burn down her own manor or forsake her royal title. Resources were meant to be used, not destroyed.
What Daniel didn’t know when he slipped a gold ring on the young woman’s finger and kissed her between promises of forever and always and freedom, was that all she was sacrificing to be with him, she not only didn’t want but actively despised. Decadence was something that had been forced upon her, sometimes with words, sometimes with threats, sometimes with chains. Power and magic came with the price of humanity, and she wanted no part of either.
What Daniel didn’t know most of all, was that from the first time that he held Regina’s hand, and a shock like fire went through both of their palms, the clock had started counting down. Some would call it fate. But in truth, it was evil. The witch of hearts would never let a cockroach make off with her golden token. The dark one would do anything to see the woman Daniel loved broken. All the goodness in the world meant nothing to vultures who sought only remains.

REGINA'S STORY
INCOMING REGINA MILLS THOUGHT RAMBLE
It’s 2am and i just had a random thought about Regina’s fucked up past and my mind started creating this weird hypothetical scenario.
So you know how Regina blames Snow for Daniel’s death and that’s the main reason she hates her so much to the point of wanting her dead?
I was thinking… what if somehow (just go with it for argument’s sake), the events had played out a little differently?
By that I mean: Snow tells Cora the secret but instead, Cora doesn’t kill Daniel. However, she still manages to force Regina into getting married and being queen and manipulates her into leaving behind Daniel.
Do we think she’d hate Snow to the same extent if it had gone down this way? I think she’d resent Snow deeply, for sure, having to deal with the loss of what her life could’ve been with Daniel, and also having to deal with Leopold (DON’T GET ME STARTED ON HIM I SWEAR TO GOD-). I just don’t know if she’d want her dead. In my eyes, her wanting Snow dead in the canon plot has always been that sorta “eye for an eye” mentality.
To her, taking Snow’s life was penance of Daniel’s death. And if Daniel never died… I just don’t know if she’d take the same approach or not.
