You know what kind of bugged me about Bones? I think Zach was the only intern we got to see graduate. Some of the other interns like Arastoo & Daisy came on in the earlier seasons & Bones was on for 10. It's like the writers forgot that interns graduate eventually. Lol

You were standing over the remains in the bone room when suddenly Aubrey appeared.
“Hi, bestie, how are you?” You asked enthusiastically. You were always happy to see him. You hadn’t been friends for a long time, but you became very close very fast.
“Hi Y/N, I’ve got a little surprise for you.” He smirked. You took off your gloves and walked to him.
“I’ve got two tickets for Hamilton. I know you are a huge fan and they’re coming to DC this weekend, so I thought…”
“Wow, that’s amazing. Are you really willing to sit through a two hour and half long musical with me while I’m fangirling all the way through?” you asked, teasing him a bit. You knew he was not a big musical theater fan. He just smiled.
“Maybe we can grab dinner before the show in that Korean restaurant we’ve been wanting to go to for a while. That’s not far from the theater.” You said.
“That’s an amazing idea!” Aubrey said. You hugged him quickly.
“Uh Y/N?” Aubrey said, suddenly nervous. You looked up, right into his eyes, but he averted them and looked at his hands.
“Would you like to make it like... a date?” He asked, scratching his neck.
“Oh.” You said, uncomfortably. “James, I thought you knew.”
“What?” The tears stood in his eyes. You took Aubrey’s hands in yours.
“I’m gay.”
“Oh.”
There was a short uncomfortable silence.
“You can have the tickets and go with someone else.” Aubrey said.
“Don’t be silly, James. If you’re still okay with it, I’d love to go with you.” you told him. “I really love our friendship and I wouldn’t want to throw it away for anything in the world.”
“Really?”
You wrapped your arms around his middle and buried your face in his chest. He hesitated for a short moment, but wrapped his arms around your shoulders.
Maybe he could live with the idea of being just friends, but it would take some time.
