Hi, not black either but why can't you just write them like you would anyone else? Vitiligo or being black shouldn't really change how you write them

I'm making a story with a black character and a character with vitiligo. I, myself am white and don't know much about how to convey POC in a story format. I would like to do these characters justice so if your a person of color, I would love your advise on how to portray these characters. Theirs names are Anastazia (Fully black) and Ayesha (Mixed/Vitiligo)
IS this a good description for POC's skin tone?
'He had light brown skin that seemed to glow in the golden light of the lanterns.' (This is Jasper)
'The woman was darker skinned than Jasper, A rich mahogany that fit the woman quite well.'
Can I outright say his skin was brown? is that offensive?
