So ... WHY did you poison him, stab him, blugeon him about the head with one of those sausages the length and weight of a bowling pin, shoot him with a crossbow, push him out a 5½ story window, and run him over with a 2005 Honda Civic?

DISCLAIMER: The theories i'l present for characters that have not a confirmed death cause yet are the ones that i personally think are more likely , not the most popular. Obviously this is a list up to Season 2 so many things will definitely change once season 3 rolls out. I'm also open to hear more theories about the characters whose Death causes are unconfirmed as of now!

Alastor - Shoot by a Hunter who mistook him for a deer CANON

We start with the death that we knew since pilot days. Imagine the panic of the hunter seeing he shot down a person, then they discover said person was one of the most prolific and disturbing serial killers Louisiana has ever known. And that police probably won't give a fuck because he was a mixed man, ahhhh the RACIST 30s...

Angel Dust - Overdose CANON

While we have yet to see the death on screen (and i'm personally dreading that moment with every fiber of my being) this is another death we knew since, not even pilot days BUT ADDICT days. The only thing that is in doubt if it was an accident or a willing suicide. Angel willingness to survive (At least until he got mind raped, hence depriving him of the only thing he thought was still his) and Addict's lines always made me doubt the suicide route, but if the theory of Molly dying before him is true, well i won't rule the willing suicide out either.

Sir Pentious - Suicide out of Guilt UNCONFIRMED BUT IMPLIED

Pentious's guilt was very well and Alive not only after his death, but after ASCENDING TO HEAVEN. Matching that with the fact that the official year of his death coincides with Jack the Ripper murders, and the fact he seems to instantly think of suicide as a way out in Heaven, i think is fairly reasonable that the guilt ate him out alive so badly that he terminated his own existance.

Husk - Suicide by Jumping from an High place or in a body of Water THEORY

I find this theory particularly interesting for few reasons: First of all his demonic form. Viv said that his cat form is mostly due to him being cunning and sly in an old interview, but also a punishment because he hates the way his body shows his tells, a giant problem for a gambler like him, and the more cat mannerism because it makes him feel like a pet. Thought, why a cat with wings? The theory of him jumping off or falling off an high place as the action that ended his life is a pretty popular theory, it would make sense for hell to mock him for his death by giving him wings. Thought the scene in love in a bottle when he sings "You're jumpin' for the water, and it's all 100 proof" while surely reffering to how bad his alcholism is, what if is it meant to be a double entendre? What if he literally jumped for the water to end his own misery back in life? it would make his cat form even more humiliating and damning since you know, cats don't like water... As of now i definitely think he took his own life due to how plainfully obvious his self loathing is in season 2 was.

Nifty - Lobotomy gone Wrong THEORY

Nifty, my beloved unhinged chaos goblin who has also the possibility to have one of the most heart wrenching backstories of the show. Remember the old human drawing of her covered in blood crying about Killing them? Did she kill her children and her husband? did she kill her husband and his mistress? whoever it was, a plurihomicide and a rule out for insanity in 1950s would have definitely made her end up in an asylum. And what did those BUTCHERS did to "CURE" people back then? sticking a fucking needle in your eye to try and destroy one of your lobes so you would basically become a mindless zombie. It would fit also her cyclop figure, imagine her eye was damaged so bad in the process that she bears the symbol of it also after death.

Cherri Bomb - Explosive Accident THEORY

While is a bit unoriginal to think that Cherri's demise was caused by the thing she loves most, i actually find it endearing. Imagine you died because you were reckless with explosives, maybe during a riot given her rebel personality , by the hands of your same weapon and you just become even more enamored with it after death. Like that fits Cherri to a T . I also saw someone pointing out that the X sign on her eye and heart might be an hint that she had gotten hit by two shrapenel during the explosion , one in her eye and the other right in her heart. This is most likely the reason Cherri died, is moreso the context we are missing, i mentioned the riot idea but also just her tinkering and experimenting with a new explosive or making stuff explode with her friends would be a realistic context.

Baxter - Drowning After The Titanic Sunk SEMI CANON / OLD CANON

We know still so few about Baxter, so until the series tells me otherwise, i'd stick with the old confirmed Death canon Vivienne gave us. Also because the idea of having another historical event connected death is just so good. Thought why the fuck where you on the Titanic Baxter?! Obviously his sinner form would also heavily imply this if that was to be confirmed, wondering how in the depths his body has fallen to get the body of an anglerfish? (i'll keep being delulu and believe that is due to him being trans, sorry. Hell forms mock you for many reasons not only your cause of death after all, so having his own gender identity being disputed by his own body is a very fitting and sad punishment)

Vox - Electrocuted To Death By a Tv That Fell on His Head CANON

AHHH THE DE LA CRUZ METHOD BUT MAKE IT EVEN MORE GOREY! Probably one of the funniest and most stupid deaths of the show, but the picturing is PHENOMENAL, the scream and imaginery are bone chilling. Fitting for Vox, a calculator that thought, when gets in his own head, when he thinks he has won, he gets fucked up by the most stupid thing. In his death case, by a tv hanging from the ceiling... who is the idiot who decided the placing?! So are we talking also of all the people that were in WATER with him and died just as badly too? Like they really all died like a cult.

Valentino - Untreated STD THEORY

From Val's posters, we know ìwas a performer too during his time in hell, just like Angel right now. This begged the question if he was a sex worker/Adult entertainer also in life. His moth motif hinting at a creature of the night could confirm it, and honestly i could see it. Got a STD from a client, rather himself or his pimp didn't deem necessary to get it treated, not that it was much treatment for those in the 70s but at least the bare minimum and it got worse to the point that it became fatal. The most common STD picked for it i saw was Syphilis, that not so funnily enough, in advaced states can bring damages to eyes and affect eyesight...

Velvette - Dismemberment THEORY

Yeahhh we're going grim with this one, while i also particularly like the abuse of drugs to keep thin, the botched surgery or the starving herself theories. The Dismemberment one hit me the most. Her doll demon motif could obviously be due to her fashion obsession, but we saw in other cases that the demon form can be a mix of various things. Probably she was an upcoming young web star when alive, and i won't be surprised if she was already a grade A bitch, so she could have possibly had both crazy stalkers and crazy haters and yes... you can imagine the rest. On a less grim note, it could have also been caused by an accident, maybe a stupid dare or a car crash and her body took the worst blunt of it.

Adam - Stabbed in the Back,literally CANON

While is mortal Death is probably the same as the bible one in the show, aka old age, how could i not include this one?! Poetic that he was killed by one of his 'descendants' while ragging them on because they didn't respect him - as if he wasn't massacrating his DESCENDANTS just two seconds ago. Thought i'd be honest, i miss this asshole sometimes, he was funny. Curse you Alex Brightman you made him too iconic.

Abel - Killed by his own Brother UNCONFIRMED BUT IMPLIED

I doubt they strayed much to Biblical Abel's death due to the dented Halo and the clear PTSD that Abel has when it comes to Violence. Thought i know that when the unavoidable scene of Cain killing Abel will come on to confirm it i'll cry, because i've grown maternal of this guy.

Saint Peter - Upside Down Crucifixion UNCONFIRMED BUT IMPLIED

Also for Peter, i doubt they strayed much away from the bible canon, poor guy...

Carmilla Carmine - Killed Along Her Family in a Cartel Dispute THEORY

While we know virtually NOTHING about Carmilla's life, she always gave me the vibes of having lived between the 1960s and 1980s. Her commanding skill that helped her replace Zestial as the Figure Head for the Overlords when he retired, her imposing presence, her battle and weapon engineering skills are not something you acquire in a short amount of time. Yeah she might be older than she looks and acquired all those abilities in hell but, let's be real she and her family must have done something to have been all sent down here. Being the leader of a cartel dedicated to illegal weapons manufacturing and being aided by her daughters and deceased partner is very realistic. Those things never end well so i don't find it weird that at one point her whole family just got assassinated to get rid of her and get control on her business. Would also add an extra layer on her overprotectivness of her daughters, other than her being a good mother and having already lost her partner to exorcists. What if she already lost them once? what if who ended her life made her watch while they murdered her family to torture her? Also Carmilla has the possibility to have the most gut wrenching backstory of the show.

Zestial Morde - Burnt At Stake THEORY

Zestial is definitely one of the characters i'm mostly curious about. The theories on who he was in life are so vast and different: a nobleman who hid behind his wealth to hide his sadistic side and killing spree or pharmacist that used to experiment with animals poisons that was accused of witchcraft, are both ideas that intrigue me a lot , whoever he was a serial killer in life or a man accused of witchcraft , he could have ended up being burnt at stake as execution method for both, that would explain the unnatural firey glow of when he opens his eyes and mouth.

Mimzy - Methanol Poisoning THEORY

Here i won't take any credit, is a theory i found on reddit that i absolutely fell in love with. The link here and the transcript down here:

Wood alcohol poisoning. (Edit: Methanol poisoning)

We know she was a dancer in clubs in the 1920's. That was during Prohibition in the US. A lot of illegal alcohol was cut with other things, including wood alcohol. Wood alcohol has several industrial uses, but is poisonous. It's the source of the stories of people in the 20's getting a bad batch of alcohol and going blind. Mimzy worked in speakeasys, and could easily have been a victim of a batch of illegal wood alcohol tainted spirits.

ETA: Just realized the going blind before dying part of methanol poisoning could be why Mimzy's eyes are black.

I know there might be a chance that she was killed due stealing money to the wrong people, but i like the idea of her escaping death by other's people hands so many times and then she just dying literally by her own hands by accident.

Katie Killjoy - Fell and Cracked Her Neck THEORY

While i think is fairly confirmed that whatever THE HELL happened to her neck was the cause of her death, is the context that is missing. Many say that due to her praying mantis-like demon form she had been caught killing her husband, then during an attempt to flee the scene she tripped over something, stairs or something like it and the fall had this absolutely NOT DISTURBING result. I also don't mind the theory of her having gotten strangled, thought who is the brave soldier who tried to strangle THAT?!

Tom Trench - Mustard Gas Attack During World War I UNCONFIRMED BUT HEAVILY IMPLIED

Come on guys...like come on. I put unconfirmed just because they never said it openly in the show, but come the hell on... This is literally one of those cases where the cause of death is PLASTERED on the sinner form. Plus his official death decade is 1910s.

Zeezi - Trampled During a Rave Gone Out Of Hand THEORY

For how hilarious is the idea that a whole ass dinosaur skeleton fell on her, let's be realistic, is more probable that she got trampled during an overcrowded rave that went out of hand. Would also fit with her sinner form, another form of mockery from hell "If you were this height you would have never gotten that fate, now would you?"

Maestro - Died in a Fire That Burnt Down his Theater THEORY

This egocentric of Vox is in every picture i need. But i digress, here i went with the most simple one but there is a little version of this theory specifically that makes me love it. While his theater went on fire, Maestro didn't panick nor scrambled for the exit, he accepted his fate and died while playing his music on the burning stage. This would be such an epic way to go...

Hatchet - Beaten to Death in a violent Brawl THEORY

I unluckily don't have much to go off for Hatchet, i know he loves fighting and turf wars. A brawl gone too far seems a perfect way to go for him.

Prick - Killed by a Criminal he was hunting Down THEORY

Also for Prick i gotta base myself of the very few things we saw of him, guy seems to be heavily implied to be a bounty hunter, so most probable cause of his death is a criminal that retaliated against him.

Henroin (Angel's father) - Killed by his own Son CANON

Going by the name Viv gave him during pilot days. Yeah we still haven't seen him on screen and we already know how he died. I know i won't feel bad for him even if Angel's reasons to murder him were 100% selfish.

Arackniss - Killed in a Mafia Dispute THEORY

Clichè but honestly, right now i can't see how Arackniss could have died otherwise, he also seems fairly young, so the mafia dispute is the most probable reason.

While i'm very masochistically fond of the idea of Molly being dead before Angel and that being the last straw for him, her death could be literally anything, raging from being kidnapped by a rival mafia family to get back to her father, getting killed by said father or idk, hell it could have been pneumonia even. The range is too big as of now to choose just one.

Cyrene versus Hysilens.

The lights appear, the crowd of Titans are watching. Cyrene has always been a favorite, just like Aglaea.

Cyrene had studied dances from romance stories, and she always desired to narrate one. But this is not a happy story.

Inside the bathtub prior to the performance…

Hysilens argues with Cyrene, “And then what? If you get shot first, it means you will scream. I have practiced the trajectory of where it will land. It won’t hurt me.”

“You practiced with sharp objects,” Cyrene counters, equally stressed and frustrated. “But that bullet will still hurt, can you take it without screaming? Practice is different from the real thing.”

“Cyrene. You know the reality of this world. We’re merely a show of entertainment but once we die, we can’t come back.”

Cyrene was aware, Hysilens was right. But neither girl wanted to lose the other. The world would be nothing without them being together. But Cyrene was aware that the Titans did not care.

“Cyrene, I love you, but one of us has to die.” Hysilens caressed Cyrene’s cheek.

This may be the last time, so why end on a sour note?

One final kiss is shared before the performance.

And now on stage, Hysilens smiles at Cyrene, sweat drops from her forehead. Hysilens is tired and unable to keep up. Cyrene doesn’t need to use her advantage of dancing, the Titans have already decided.

The scoreboard flickers.

Hysilens falls onto her knees before she finally collapses in front of Cyrene, her blood splattered on the pink haired girl’s cheek.

The first round came to a close, but at the cost of Cyrene’s energy and the girl who cared about love did not smile again.

Anaxagoras thought of his sister and her lifeless body in his arms. He had almost thought of the Titan of Reason, Cerces, the woman who said he would be a good fit for a successor.

“A good dance partner? Why would we dance?”

“Do you know what has never been done before on this stage? Being so good that we tie, and then neither of us dies.” Aglaea holds her hand out mid performance.

Aglaea’s score was already at 60, while Anaxagoras was at 59. If the two were impressive enough to tie…

He grabs her hand and twirls her around. “Successor of Romance…if we make it through alive, I will follow you anywhere.”

A promise he never would have made before.

The garden takes everyone you love, but he gave it a chance.

The Titans are not disappointed surprisingly, they let this slide, only because Cerces convinces them that this is fun in its own right.

Cyrene versus Cipher.

A new round began. The Successor of Time, versus the Successor of Trickery.

The performance was already becoming a boring show, so Cipher took it upon herself to bring the entertainment, she used her ability to turn into Hysilens, and mimicked Hysilens’s movement. It was enough to distract Cyrene, the pink haired girl’s voice faltered. She could hardly focus.

Cipher danced with Cyrene just like that, confident that Cyrene would lose.

But Cipher didn’t count for retaliation from Cyrene, who landed a few punches, crashing out from Cipher using Cyrene’s dead girlfriend as a tactic to win.

The fight was broken up, and the result on the scoreboard flickered with Cipher’s win, but it also marked Cyrene as missing.

Mydeimos won his previous round, but he was a little disappointed when finding out his next opponent was Phainon. The man who loved Cyrene, the successor of Time. Phainon would never like a successor of Strife, not him.

He put on such a confident performance at first, but in the middle…he decided to help Phainon win. It was a terrible plan, but he knew he could not live with himself if he won. Yes, what would Cyrene think? Would she be kind to Mydeimos then?

He tossed the microphone on the ground, and took the few steps to get to Phainon. Mydeimos gently touched Phainon’s face, then pulled him closer. The first and only kiss that Mydeimos would give.

Phainon did try to fight it, but that didn’t last long.

i just wish people used some sort of warning tag so i could blacklist it and then look at it by choice/after mentally preparing myself rather than being shown it without warning under his main tag
