Big fan of calling male characters babygirls but I think we should start calling female characters babyboys too

I’ve seen people on here rail separately against calling male characters babygirls and calling female characters little guys, and while I think they’ve correctly identified a problem (“girl” has sexual or demeaning or childish connotations while “guy” is an example of masculine-as-neutral-default) I don’t think the answer is to get more essentialist in our language use but rather to freak it up more. he’s just a little gal. she’s my sweet baby boy. she’s my boyfriend. he’s my special girlie. she’s my beautiful husband.

One of my favorite things about QLL is that they are also very inclusive of people of color, disabled people, etc. It's pretty fucking great and I recommend it to everyone.

as we know shane rarely cries but they watch Past Lives and shane genuinely is inconsolable at “you dream in a language i can’t understand” like ilya has to turn off the movie and get shane water and hold him and shane is trying to explain how he’s trying to learn faster and he wishes he understood russian and he wishes he knew what ilya was dreaming but he’s cry hiccuping and can’t get the words out and he’s saying he wishes he could help ilya more with the depression and that svetlana lived closer and that he wishes he knew that his mom called him ilyushenka but none of the words are coming out coherently.

When politicians say "we gotta appeal to the working class" you have to keep in mind that in their imaginations, the working-class person is basically a form of ogre-like creature whose existence consists of backbreaking manual labor and seething with Every Single Bigotry.
