its not just that raye is an insane vocalist – one of the greatest if not the greatest vocalist of her generation – its that shes an insane vocalist and a producer and a jazz performer so every time she sings its more like shes freestyle painting with her voice like space and time are her canvas and shes imagining the shape of where she wants the paint and color to go and then she has this knife precision vocal instrument that can execute whatever she imagines. she is the best composer and the best instrument all in one. every time she opens her mouth its brand new. its so so insane. no recording could ever do it justice
