"But I scaled 😟"
There are few statements that frustrate me more than this one. After a WOD, we're collecting scores, an athlete calls out their score, then drops that line. 🤬
Scaling means you listened to the coach. Scaling means you listened to your body. Scaling means you respected your capability and the intent of the day's training, instead of blindly holding to RX because it is what is written on the board.
I know when people say this they aren't thinking about it, but not only are you dragging yourself (when you shouldn't), you are dragging 90% (maybe 100%) of the room who also scaled.
If you drag yourself, put yourself down because you scaled or because you had a day where your training didn't match what you think you should be capable of...
Then bring it, come at me, here's your chance.😈
This complex was supposed to be performed at 80%, for me 86kg. Here's me doing it at 50kg, I topped off at 60kg.
I scaled, I'm not gonna tell you why. This is what I had to give that day.
If you wouldn't drag me or another athlete for scaling, then never drag yourself 🙌 💪
