Being a dragon generally makes it hard to tell time. I looked young in Spirited Away; it had something to do with being essentially reborn after my river was destroyed. Before, I was as old as the river. By the time Chihiro met me, I was about eleven or twelve with a lifetime of magical knowledge and limited memory.

Chihiro and I grew up with each other. Years passed by the time they left the Spirit World. They were in their late teens when they crossed the gates back into the mortal world. They had created a life at the bathhouse... Fighting for years to maintain their memory. I'm still incredibly proud of them for hanging on for so long.

It might be selfish of me but... We made a lot of memories together and I... Couldn't be more grateful that we had that time.

I'll talk about my time as Kohaku instead.

The bathhouse, for being a prison where my memory was stolen in increments, was honestly not that bad. The company made every day interesting. Especially with Chihiro around (they were a klutz and offered no short amount of problems to be solved. It was genuinely fun.)

Though, 'home' was the riverbed and the tall grass. When the waters receded, I would sit and watch the fields. The swaying grass and the wind would stir faint memories of My river. Sometimes, only sometimes, I would stretch out and close my eyes just to immerse myself in the sensation of the grass against my scales.

Chihiro might have found me like this one time; dozing in the grass like an oversized snake. The sun, wind and grass were home to me. The company only made it sweeter.
