Land breeze, land breeze!
Say it isn’t so!
Fall is when, a breeze is wind
When old nor'easter blows
From the east in early fall
To the north it goes
The old nor'easter finds it path
A wet and chilly blow
The ocean still retains the sun
Its warmth held deep within
And then he blows, Northeaster knows
Is when the sight begins
The surf is white, whitewater rules
The towering waves in line
An old nor'easter’s blustery wind
Has shaped and redefined
Breaking on the sandy beach
The color marks the change
The waves that rolled so eagerly
Chaotic, now deranged
Watching like a sea bird
Caught standing by the sea
The warm and salt of a fall
shore break
The turmoil is all one sees
I love a fall nor'easter
The hint, of a summer past
The endless sounds of a churning sea
That seems will always last
The eastern sky draws black with night
The might waves roll on
The sounds of darkness
Silently
Slip on into the dawn….
