Her name was Butch.

When she was made, she was small, and was built to fight in illegal underground robot arenas for her creator’s profit. She was in this hellhole for about 14 years.

Butch lost a rigged fight, where she was put up against a large robot around her age, named Magnus, outside of her weight and classification. She was doomed to fail.

Her creator tossed her in the trash, abandoning her when she was fatally wounded, for a robot.

She was found by a man named John Cassidy, who would adopt her and bring her to her new home, his apartment connected to a Deli Restaurant he owned in the underground.

He taught Butch how to cook, how to take care of herself, how to clean, and how to trust, and even love :)

Once she turned 20, 6 years of being adopted, John offered to take her to the surface districts and sign her up for an education of her choosing.

He had been saving up money for her ever since they met, so she could have a future for herself.

Butch chose Nursing, to personally make up for all the harm she was forced to do when fighting.

Unfortunately when they went to register, they weren’t interested in a robot at 4ft tall who looks stapled and duct taped together!

So she went home, disappointed.

Venus, a robot woman who operated a bar with her ‘sisters’, overheard that there was a robot looking to enter the medical field but her body and past held her back.

So, Venus, being the generous woman she was, knew what she had to do.

At the bar, there used to be the whole solar system minus Earth.

There was a redhead, her name was Mars. But one day, after being assaulted by a patron at the bar, this Mars lost it and killed the patron.

Her soul was removed from the body, which was placed in storage, and was gotten rid of.

Robots in my lore are powered by crystals with human souls in them, so they can be swapped in and out of bodies with ease.

Venus knew they had a spare body, story and name, they could give to Butch, so she would have a clean state of life and a chance to mature.

Butch took the deal, now being named Mars “Butch” Cassidy. Now a mature and tough looking woman!

Mars was still turned away. Being a robot, and a woman? No robot woman has ever been able to graduate with anything remotely close to the health side of an education.

So she slammed the desk, and told the head honcho she didn’t care and would be there.

Mars ended up being the first female robot to be eligible for doing surgery, nursing, anything regarding caring for others, she now had the degree for each one, after a decade of hard work.

While she worked at the hospital in District 5, she met a man named Jack. He was in an accident and was paralyzed, and she was tasked with being his nurse.

She pushed past her fear of water to help him with Hydrotherapy, and the two developed a strong bond!

Additionally, there was a misunderstanding with another gang member which lead to a fight.

Mars was punched in the face very hard, causing her right eye to shatter. Her Metathesiophobia, the fear of change, prevents her from ever fixing it.

Mars had it rough, being pushed around and treated like a joke.

So, when she was offered to go with Jack and his gang as a Secretary and Medic? She took the offer and now works with him and his gang!

….Though, she does often get them into more trouble than needed.

So right now, in canon, Mars “Butch” Cassidy is 32 years old and lives in a café that’s used for a front for a gang that specialized in Illegal Arms Deals.

Her dad is still alive and well.

Her story is mostly to touch on xenophobia and sexism in a world where she’s more than needed.
