WAHH ik this was asked all the way back at the end of May BUT FINALLY I GOT TO THIS!! I underestimated deadlines and how much theyd burn me out 🥹 so yeahh thats why it took so long.

In my Skybound thoughts for #25 I actually complained a little about it, and basically attributed it to an artstyle change (no offense to Dan Mora, I came to enjoy his art a lot, but the loss of wear on the characters was something I am still a little sad about).

So in terms of a real world explanation, it's that the artist changing means they have their own vision for how everyone looks, so everyone lost all of their scratches because the new artist didn't want to deal with drawing everyones injuries every comic panel (i kinda get it, I've drawn comics and its very easy to miss a detail like specific injuries which can cause mistakes in the art if you forget them.)

But of course, the real world reason for the injuries disappearing isn't all that relevant to the story, so whats the explanation in universe? I always thought their resources were too low to bother fixing cliff (especially since he basically betrayed them) but the only reason I can come up with is that someone fixed him up on Cybertron. Maybe it was Bluestreak since he seemed to loosen up on Cliff after #25, who secretly used some resources, or it was Elita who felt a little bad about what happened between her and Cliff.

Its that or Cliffjumper just magically regrew his horn because he can regrow it like a lizard who lost its tail
