I might not be a 7′5-8 foot bald dude, but apparently we both are both viewed as intimidating in general, and scary when angry. 

To be honest when I was younger I was really proud of being thought of as someone not to be messed with. It helped when I was that age, and in some ways it still does now.  When it’s not helpful is when your family believes they have to walk on eggshells around you because “you’re so moody all the time.” I will admit, I am a moody person and I like my alone time, but it’s not as bad as they’d think. Thankfully with family, I can change that perspective by verbally pointing out that I’m not moody because of them, and explaining what the actual cause is. 

In the past, I’ve had a teacher tell me I looked like I wanted to kill someone. All I was doing was sitting there spacing out while thinking of how to write the poem I was writing for Creative Writing. (Probably didn’t help that they’d later find out the poem I was writing was about the cycle of revenge killing. I was a Senior in high school at that time, and it wasn’t super graphic or anything. One of my classmates understood the purpose and tone and liked it. I think everyone else was disturbed a little.) 

My own mom said she was afraid I’d harm someone while working my first retail job. 

Though I’ve had to take punches and hits before, I’ve never punched someone else or engaged in a physical fight from an offensive standpoint. So you can imagine how annoying it can be to have other people think you’re the dangerous one in situations where you’re just existing and minding your own business. 

But one time a guy in class would not listen to me when I told him to leave me alone. This was in high school in my English class…think I was in 10th grade? I gave him a fair enough warning to stop, and when he still didn’t listen, I swung my arm behind me with my hand held in a chop like pose and stopped before hitting his face. It legitimately freaked the guy out and he started trying to tell the teacher that I was “trying to kill him.” The teacher just shrugged but I could tell she knew and maybe even saw what I did, but wasn’t going to do anything disciplinary towards me for it.  

What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?

She entered for the first time at the 30th World Martial arts tornament when she was 8. Spoilers: That dream did not come true. Not really out of lack of skill (homie wasn’t outed in her first round lol), but by being outclassed. 

Well, I think that Ramsay will encounter a man who’s just like him only stronger, because he’s wearing a hat, and they’ll fight, right? And just when you think Ramsay’s gotten this bizarro-Ramsay beaten, he’ll pull out a second hat and it’ll make him even stronger, and wham! down goes Ramsay!

And then we’ll all learn after the fact that this duplicate Two Hats Ramsay was really a Faceless Man who Ramsay hired because, having defeated everyone else who came across him, he decided he really needed to test his strength. Only, darnit, he was hoist with his own petard there, and lost to the power of the hats.

No, but seriously Mike, I do not give a flaming fuck how Ramsay dies. I just want him dead, d-e-a-d dead, how it happens honestly does not matter to me. Eaten by dogs is fine, whatever, but he can fall down a well, he can have the Wall fall on his head, Stannis can cut his head off or burn him, I do not care. I don’t need Ramsay’s death to to be satisfying poetic justice, I just want it to exist at all. If it had happened three books ago all the better, but we can’t have everything alas.

When he was asked about it on Observer Live he basically pointed out he gave five stars to Punk vs. Cena and Omega vs. Naito, and this match was better than either of them, so “you gotta do somethin’.”  Mostly he’s just said that the match “may” be “one of” the greatest in pro wrestling history, which is funny considering that he decided this match was one star better than literally any other match.  Dude likes to equivocate.

He wrote that the match “featured nearly every element of a classic match, from intensity, crowd heat, tremendous psychology, off the charts athleticism, hard hitting, timing, innovation and high risk and dangerous moves.”  He compared it to several other legendary long matches from the last 45 years, saying “this had most of the elements that all of those matches had, but elements they didn’t and really combined the elements they did better.”

This week on Twitter he mentioned this wasn’t the first time he’d gone above five stars–in June 1997 he rated Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada “*****+”, whatever that means.  I went back and found his review, and his reasoning is similarly terse.

I think it’s pretty tough to put into words what makes a match super-great.  Like, which Shawn vs. Undertaker match is best, and why?  It’s usually a lot of little things.  Also, the star rating system invariably leads people to compare apples and oranges.  Dave gave ***** to the first Hell in a Cell match and to CM Punk’s title win in Chicago, but I’d argue those matches have nothing in common besides being great.  It’s tough to isolate any particular quality those matches share, that a ****** match can turn up even further.
