Many hotels, restaurants and bakeries incorporated durian into their mooncakes but Gin Thye Cake Maker (锦泰西果饼家) went one step further. Letting you bring them home in a thorny king of fruits (if I may call it a) box for their Royal Durian Bliss Charcoal Snowskin Mooncake.

But if you are not parting with that much spare cash, how about getting these Piglet Mooncakes 🐷 for only a few dollars each. Heard over the radio that the estimated cost of ingredients for mooncakes is about S$4 according to a chef and they are selling us a box for like close to S$100!!! I know you have to factor in the packaging and marketing cost but it is still a lot of monies to pay for four big or eight mini pieces of mooncakes 🥮 with fancy packaging. Moreover, the mooncakes had shrunk in sizes, yet selling at a higher price point.

August Baking Studio is offering their very own series of Teochew Mooncakes with yolk or mochi. These flaking and crispy desserts featured traditional white lotus, taro and red bean fillings to more exotic flavours like matcha, oolong and even tiramisu.
