Well, I just think Historia’s character is the main thing Sensei could have written better in this final arc. :) Can’t be helped, everyone can make mistakes and it doesn’t help that endings are the hardest story parts to plan & write.

You’re going to be disappointed but that’s pretty much it. I explained in the past why I favored the fake pregnancy theory and the consequences of such plot twist (in short, because it gives a fulfilling character development to Historia considering what she’s been through in the story so far) and I still stand by this. 

Now that it’s confirmed that Sensei chose otherwise, probably to emphasize that Historia’s kid will be one of the first to experience the dawn of a new world in which there is actual freedom (after Eren destroyed everything LMAO), I’ll just have to shrug about it. 

Even aside from the missed opportunities for Historia’s character tho’, there is no way I can see this page as something positive or beautiful and I think Sensei meant for it to be depressing anyway. I mean, look, her kid is going to be born (first page of the chapter++) right as...

...the rest of the chapter depicts everyone else is dying, including countless other kids. 

So in the end Historia’s situation is just the example of Eren being a hypocrite. I absolutely love that he fell so damn low, that he pretended to favor his friends’ survival over the rest of the world because “he’s free”...

...it’s just that I would have enjoyed Historia being along the rest of them to beat some reality into him. Oh well. :)

Historia give birth

It was great! I liked it. We tend to like more morbid chapters I think haha, but who am I kidding, every chapter feels somewhat morbid right now. Isayama is very good at creating scary, troubling and upsetting visuals. It’s like the feeling you get while looking at The Last Day of Pompeii painting, but much, much worse.

It’s good to see Eren’s titan from different angles and get better understanding of how his structure works, it’s good to see the Beast again. It’s very good to see Levi being so lively and full of energy. “You big furry bastard”… 😭 I have so many questions about all this.

Annie’s dad looked kind of funny and almost cute with his cheeks all red, I’m sorry. I couldn’t stop going “awww” every time there was a panel with him. Is this rude of me? The scenes with Reiner’s mom are great and sad too…

Oh, and Armin’s final line!! TFW you come up with a good sassy response after the conversation has already ended lol Look at him go, trying to hit a nerve like a Scorpio he is. What a sick burn, Armin, Eren is definitely going to give up now that you said that he isn’t free. (no hate towards Armin btw <3)

The thing is, Eren isn’t an idiot and he knows perfectly well that he isn’t really totally free and that he literally doesn’t have a choice. So I don’t think this is the huge “AHA!” moment to him, he is kind of aware of the situation he’s in.
