#sleep squad

these past couple of months have been so difficult and this week i was more vocal about my anxiety and like i had two different people validate what i was feeling instead of dismissing it and they then helped me? like ive never had that before cause ive always refused to like actually talk about my anxiety. and then my wonderful friends were like “okay how do we resolve this?” instead of just being “don’t be anxious”. So that was nice.

ok fun but not fun fact about my wonderful friend group: we all used to sing desperately to Unsteady by X Ambassadors and I used to sing to it cause it hits home and it never used to hit me until recently that the reason my entire friend group sings so intensely and passionately to this song is because we're all a bit heartbroken and sad and that's what's driven us close to one another. and I just realized this like these past couple of months so now every time I listen to that song it's like an internal shoutout to my support group of friends and all of us helping one another up when we feel down and for feeling as if we're brave and good and strong and worth it all.

The main thing I love deeply about my friend group, is that they’re family. Like when I think about home, it’s with my parents and siblings and cousins and niece, etc. but it’s also with them sitting around a campfire, or talking about love, or singing too loud, or sitting under the stars. And I’m so grateful for them. Like we all managed to come together, as messed up as we are, and together we’ve made something beautiful and stunning and heartwarming. Here we all are, existing and loving one another so much that words can’t convey it. They’re such a wonderful group and I miss them so much right now with all of us together. I can’t wait to be back home.
