Grace making huge advencements in the Eridian medical field.
Turns out there's a childhood disease to the tune of measles that erodes the carapace, and the first symptom shows up about a week before any actual damage is caused.
Grace comments to Rocky that one of his students seems to be turning oxidisation-green. About a week later that student has to be hospitalised for this illness.
Eridian scientists realise pretty quick that Grace can detect the illness long before any of their equipment can, and when caught that early it is much, much easier and safer to treat.
Not only is Grace celebrated in the scientific field for his knowledge and for his part in saving the world, he becomes a beacon of hope for doctors and parents and children on Erid.

I bet Grace's ejection from earth would become like an Eridian horror story. They forced him to sleep. They held him down and made him go to sleep so he would stop fighting. They kept him vulnerable and put him into a dangerous situation with other sleeping, vulnerable humans with no one to watch over them.
And 2 of them DIED! While they were asleep with no one to watch over them!!
Like they probably already thought Rocky's journey was the stuff of nightmares (alone for decades with no one to watch him sleep) but Grace's story would probably be so terrifying to them. Coupled by the relative ease with which he talks of it. He accidentally mentions it to his class and gets several concerned and angry messages from Eridian parents about him telling horror stories to their children instead of teaching Human Science lol
Eridian Grace, as in culturally Eridian, not the species Eridian, is so important to me.
Grace who does jazz hands and taps when he's asking a question and says some words three times like Rocky. Grace who makes chirps and trilling noises when he's happy.
Grace who starts thinking and dreaming in Eridian, who sometimes has dreams that are just sound, no visual. (Grace who, if he ever goes back to Earth for whatever reason after years on Erid, forgets some words in English and speaks in the sentence structure of Eridian because he has to translate from Eridian to English when he speaks outloud).
Grace who does scarification (even if Rocky protests at first) - I've read some fics where he does the Voyager pulsar map, or dots and lines showing his route from Sol, to Tau Ceti, turning around towards Sol, and then the line going all the way back to Erid. Even though he already has the scars from Rocky saving him, maybe Rocky's family crest. A scar showing his rank as Captain of the Hail Mary - maybe something to represent her, too.
Grace who wears Eridian gems, as earrings, in a chain for his glasses, in strings draped over him that clink together when he walks - the most important ones, like the earrings he wears all the time, the color of the blueish-green gems (or spots?) in/on Rocky's carapace.
Grace who wears a bracelet on each arm that have ribbed marks like on Rocky's arm so he can properly say goodbye (not something he had to do, but something that felt right to do, something that made him feel more like himself), sound included.
Grace who considers himself an Eridian!! Grace who IS an Eridian!!

The first thing Ryland should do when he gets into his biosphere is run. He hasn't had to space to actually, properly, run in so long. Plus then you get Rocky being confused why Ryland is jetting off the second he steps foot in there. Rocky give tour! Why Grace leave! Where you going?
Do you think thereβs eridian theatre kids? Do you think they begged and begged and BEGGED for Mr Grace to direct their next show? Do you think they chose a human production just to remind him of home?
The concept of grace sobbing his eyes out watching his pebbles doing their best rendition of cats: the musical just for him.
Imagine Simon finding one lonely half-eaten granola bar hidden somewhere on the Hail Mary and he absolutely loses his mind over the discovery because it has seeds and nuts that they can grow on Erid. And before you say that they've been cooked or whatever, let me remind you that Simon is from a planetary, teraforming, future society that has done a lot more with a lot less and easily learned how to revive plant-based organic material, probably as a fifth-grade science project when he was eleven, not to mention that was literally Eden's main job, and they have the combined efforts of Erid's best scientists. So the discovery births a whole new addition to his greenhouse to include things like poppies, almond trees, oats, peanuts, pumpkins, and (his favorite) sunflowers.
