Like I've mentions in my other posts a have a headcanon Griffon in Netflix dmc universe was Sparda's best friend/ a brother who helped him with rebellion. Another thing I've mentioned is that Griffon was very happy when Sparda and Eva got together because Griffon to tell that you Eva made Sparda incredibly happy and Griffon loved Eva just as much as Sparda (not in a romantic way mind you)

Griffon was even present for their wedding. Eva didn't really mind matter of fact she was happy that her husband's best friend was present not to mention Eva and Griffon had a very good relationship.

I'm using these pictures as examples.

Still a oneshot, for now, but I might make some more self-contained entries, because I like the concept. We'll see.

I fought Clip Studio Paint thrice in the parking lot and won.

Decided to draw out important DMC characters for my own amusement so I started off with the family that started it all (before disaster struck).

Redesigned Sparda’s two forms because I couldn’t make sense of the original designs lol

Also figured that making Sparda’s human form more blue focused with silver metals and Sparda’s devil form more red focused with gold metals was a fun way to tie him to his sons. (As well as introduce some dramatic irony)

I’ll be back with characters from the first novel some time later!

I believe Sparda carried Force Edge with him until a little before his death. Maybe carried inside him. Devil Sword Sparda is named after him, seems to be a husk of Sparda's physical body more than Rebellion and Yamato. What better place to hide a key to the Underworld than within himself? Devil Sword Sparda IS Sparda. Maybe it was in his chest even. He pulled it out agonoizingly, Utena style.

Once he felt himself growing weaker and near death, Sparda reverted DSS to Force Edge and used Yamato to hide it in hell. It remains there till Dante acquires it during the events of DMC3.

Headcanon that Sparda smiles more in photos than he does in paintings. Yes, he was scowling in the Sparda family painting- but I think that's because he (and the twins! Because they also looked kinda bored) HATES sitting for paintings. It's just so boring, even if he can read while sitting! The twins feel the same way. Hence Sparda and the twins scowling in the Sparda family photo. Eva is the only one that looks like she's smiling, bless her. They all DEFINITELY went out for pizza and sundaes or similar each sitting. Preferably somewhere where the twins could run around and scream afterwards.

He does kinda tend to have a resting bitch face (Vergil got it from him), but I think he'd be a lot happier with Eva and the twins, so even through that resting bitch face, he'd still smile and laugh more. Especially while playing or caring for his sons, and around his wife.

Eva kept a family photo album, and this is evident there. Lots of pictures of Sparda and the boys and her smiling and playing, and even posing for a photo, as long as it's taken quickly.
