vanities-redemptionâ:
Truthfully, Vanitas did not think that he would be thinking about comic books either. No, originally, he had been dwelling on the fact that he finished a novel about aliens. AliensâŚnot exactly his favorite subject, but the picture on the cover looked interesting.
As he searched the bookstore earlier today, Vanitas picked up a comic book with a superhero on it, so he decided to buy it.
Vanitas tilted his head to the side when he felt his sisterâs embarrassment and saw the crimson on her cheeks. Did heâŚsay something wrong?
âHmm, just picked up a comic book while I was at the bookstore. Last book I read was about aliensâŚâ
Vanitas shrugged his shoulders. âAliens are boring, but this superhero comic book looked interestingâŚand colorful.â
âO-Oh! Is that so?â Runa said, laughing a bit awkwardly. She recalled seeing the cover of the alien book he had bought not too long ago around the house. It was kinda funny though, considering the irony of it all.Â
âWho is it? The hero on the cover?â She asked. Maybe she knew which series it was. Although, she didnât read too many superhero comics or shounen manga. Some fantasy and sci-fi were more up her alley, with a bit of romance thrown in here and there.Â
"He looks...kinda weird. Like, he's human in a suit that looks alien." Vanitas walked over to the table next to the couch. He scooped up the comic, which turned out to be a manga. The raven didn't quite understand the difference.
He flipped through the pages before turning to the front page. The book was...structured strangely, reading right to left. Vanitas then held up the cover to show his sister. "It's called Ultraman. He beats up gigantic monsters."
"What...kind of comic books do you read, Runa? Why do you feel so uncomfortable about talking about it?" Her emotions were strong and scratched at his brain.
