Dear Today,
You arrived gently, with the warmth of chai and the comfort of home. I began you in the kitchen, trying my hands at making idlis while Amma made tea for me. We shared breakfast with chutney and quite smiles. In the middle of it all, you reminded me that carelessness can sting as I burned my hand on hot steam. I cried, like a child seeking comfort, and Amma did what mothers do best, she applied medicine, wrapped love in a small lecture, and made everything feel safer again.
Lunch came with familiar flavors fried fish, rice, and fish curry a comfort food that filled more than just my stomach. the afternoon slowed down, and I let myself scroll mindlessly, laughing at stand-up comedy on You tube, letting laughter ease the hours.
Evening brought a happy surprise. Shawarma as my favorite because Baba remembered how much I love it and brought it for me. That simple act of knowing felt like love in its purest from.
As night approached, I shared a quiet conversation with Amma, just the two of us, No rush, no noise just words and warmth. Dinner was rich and satisfying prawn curry with roti. And then came the perfect ending a coffee cake I made myself, topped with chocolate syrup. It truly was delicious, and I felt proud.
I washed the day away with my night skincare routine, letting calm settle in. Now, as I prepare to sleep, I realize you weren't extraordinary but you were full of care, food, small hurts, laughter, and love.

Lunch – salmon fish cakes Wednesdays are traditionally fish days in my house. Mainly because @pickandpay has their sushi special on Wednesday s and I always love me some sushi!
