Hiccup, in my opinion, would be a night terror:
Not only is he shown to be a night owl, even without Toothless (see first movie), but he constantly tries to seek out his peers and often relies on his team while still being the leader. That and he's very small, but surprisingly stronger than expected, like how night terror's can carry people despite their size. (And, of course, the night fury concepts).
It's sharp, has an axe snout, and is now to cut trees down so often they get stuck. Definitely sounds like a rather ticked off Astrid. (Plus, I think they just look cool)
I like to think the twins would be shadowwings;
They are tricksters and don't always have the best intentions, even if it seems like it. Plus, this means they can not only work together, but run off from each other when they need to.
Fishlegs reads to me as a buffalord,
As he's quite strong, but often is peaceful and calm unless provoked. Plus, pufferfish. Look at Fishlegs. Tell me he doesn't look like one. You can't. They both tend to work with herbs as well.
Snotlout is in my opinion a skrill;
Hes constantly struck by lightning, he's both loyal and a nuisance to deal with. Skrills are said to try and mask their weaker emotions, or at least the few Skrills I'd read the description of seemed close in personality to him. He also tends to sleep often, which fits a dragon who hibernates for decades at a time. Alongside this, they're on the stronger, rarer, faster side, which fits Snotlout being so strong- even if he rarely puts any effort into things which ends in his failure. (As well as bragging rights, which he certainly uses, even if everyone is already fed up with him)
