Exploring the Origins of Thought: A Synthesis of Jung, Ramana Maharshi, Kabbalah, and Tibetan Buddhism
In our journey to understand the nature of thoughts and the Self, we find ourselves drawing from the wisdom of various traditions—Jungian psychology, Vedanta as taught by Ramana Maharshi, the mystical insights of Kabbalah, and the profound teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. These perspectives, though rooted in different cultural and philosophical backgrounds, converge in fascinating ways, offering a…

‘Hridaya-Kuhara-Madhye’, In the centre of the Heart cave
In the centre of the cave which is the Heart, the one (non-dual) Brahman alone shines directly in the form of Self as ‘I-I’ (or ‘I am I’ ). Enter the Heart (by the mind) sinking scrutinizing Self, or by the mind sinking along with the breath, and be one who abides in Self.
~ Ulladu Narpadu - Anubandham (Reality in Forty Verses - Supplement), V. 8
Note: One day in 1915 a devotee named Jagadiswara Sastri started to compose a Sanskrit verse beginning with the words. ‘Hridaya-Kuhara-Madhye’, (In the centre of the Heart cave), but finding that he was unable to proceed any further to express in verse form the idea which he had in mind, he implored Sri Bhagavan to complete the verse for him. Sri Bhagavan accordingly completed the verse and wrote underneath ‘Jagadisan’, thereby indicating that the ideas in the verse were those of Jagadiswara Sastri and not His own. Some years later, at the request of some Tamil devotees who did not know Sanskrit, Sri Bhagavan translated this verse into Tamil, and the Tamil version, which is given above, was later added in the Anubandham.
_____________
Kavyakanta Ganapati Muni also included this verse in his Sri Ramana Gita, ch. II, v. 2.

Eka Sloki of Sri Ramana Maharshi, his most important verse, was mounted during Bhagavan´s lifetime, obviously with his consent, above his ornate marble couch in the New Hall, where the verse is engraved in gold Sanskrit letters on a tablet of polished black marble.

Mahavakyas (great sayings that proclaim our real identity): Jesus: I am, That I am. The Kingdom of God is within you. Moses was told by God to say: I am has sent me to you. Vedas; Aitareya Upanishad: Prajnanam Brahman [Pure Awareness is Brahman]; Mandukya Upanishad; Ayam Atma Brahman [This Self is Brahman]; Chandokya Upanishad; Tat Tvam Asi [That You Are]; Brhadaranyaka Upanishad; Aham Brahmasmi [.I am Brahman] Where the last four are only an aid to the Knowledge I am I which can only be realized through the Inquiry Who Am I?
What is the nature, source or first principle of "I" or "ego? Where have I come from or am I born from? Where is this I or ego in deep sleep? Look for it not to actually find some[thing] but to realize You are beyond the one who could find or not find already and when the concept of i or the idea "I am the body turns out to be a formless fanthom like the snake seen in a rope turns out to never have been really there except as an illusion.

Have you ever wondered who you were in your past lives? Some people have the ability to channel vivid information of their past lives, such as having some scenes from the past revealed to them, however even if you don't have this ability you can still get some ideas of who you were. From my experiences and the experiences of people whom I have encountered, I realize that I can get some ideas of who we were by paying attention to what things attract us a lot, especially when we were children. For example, was there a particular ancient civilization or a historial period that you are very drawn to? Is there a certain role in the society that you click with? Here, I would like to share with you my own experience. When I was around 15, I suddenly had the urge to become a Catholic monk living in a remoted European mountain. This urge seemed to come out of complete nowhere as no one in my family was Catholic, and as a girl I could never be a monk. Years later, I learnt that I have at least one past life being a Benedictine monk. Besides observing what you are attracted to, you can also try this simple method to figure out who you were: self-inquiry. First, quiet your mind. Second, ask yourself questions such as "have I been an ancient Egyptian?" and you may get an answer from your heart. Here are some of the example questions you can ask yourself: "What role did I play during that time?" "Did I have a fulfilling life?" "Did I have a happy family life?" "Did I experience something very difficult or traumatic?" With this questioning technique, you can piece together some of your past life experiences as well. In the coming installments of this series, I will talk about how our past life experiences can affect us right now (yes, our past lives can affect our current life!), and how we can use our past life experiences to help us understand ourselves and grow. So, stay tuned! In addition, my friend Auriel and I are sharing inspirational messages to promote spiritual growth on Instagram, ID: starlight.within. You can find more work, including meditation and healing exercises, there. Healthy Examination of the Soul
by J. C. Ryle
Occasional retirement, self-inquiry, meditation, and secret communion with God, are absolutely essential to spiritual health. The man who neglects them is in great danger of a fall. To be always preaching, teaching, speaking, writing, and working public works, is, unquestionably, a sign of zeal. But it is not always a sign of zeal according to knowledge.
It often leads to adverse consequences. We must make time occasionally for sitting down and calmly looking within, and examining how matters stand between our own selves and Christ. The omission of the practice is the true account of many a backsliding which shocks the Church, and gives occasion to the world to blaspheme.
