OKAY BUT LISTEN @sarahlevys I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS JUST THE OTHER DAY ACTUALLY?????? Because first I was thinking about how much of Stevie/Ruth is like, in the background/off to the side of Twylexis fics as opposed to being its own focused thing, and then I was thinking about how my top-spot f/f ship is Stevie/Alexis and I was like "so obviously I need to start dropping in background/side-plot Twyla/Ruth for Consistency or whatever" and then I KEPT THINKING ABOUT IT and was like... okay but it WORKS though? Ruth just brings the 'boss babes' dynamic to every ship??

I swear this is gonna be the next Twyla/Jake for me where it went from "this pairing is a convenient plot vehicle for where I'm trying to get to" to "oh no but I thought about it and I love them though" in about five minutes flat 🤣

Maybe I'll drop a lil Twyla/Ruth into my Sapphic September drabble collection just for you 😉

First impression:

Kind of strange but sweet, definitely reminds me of a typical small town girl

Impression now:

Twyla is just so caring. Like you can tell how much she really cares about Schitt's Creek and all of the people living there. She's just a ray of sunshine, and she loves cheering people up.

Favorite moment:

"I know you, Alexis, and... you always make the right decision. Eventually." I could say a ton about this moment, but I think it speaks for itself

Idea for a story:

I mean I have lots of Twylexis story ideas that I need to write omg. Maybe a cute first kiss story....ooh or how Twyla's passion for singing started...or Twyla visiting Alexis in NY. So many possibilities!

Another idea I've been wanting to write is a friendship story between David and Twyla. I always thought they should've interacted more because I think they'd have an interesting dynamic. I've said this before, but I always have headcanoned twyla as pansexual, and I could see her and David bonding over that

Unpopular opinion:

I don't think I have any, honestly. I guess one would be that her and Alexis's relationship isn't very well developed, even for a friendship. It seems more one sided until we get to the end of the show, but I think the show leaves off giving them a lot of potential.

Hi, Lovely! I wish I had more on this one (story of a WIPs life amirite?) I answered in another post but it's way at the bottom so I'll put it here too.

This is an idea I was rolling around with @vanillahigh00 possibly in combination with a pair of OCs as a HS/College au. I don't have a ton but there's this:

Stevie sees her first and... no. It can’t be. But the jet black hair, the familiar smile. The easy confidence she carries. It can’t possibly be anyone else. And when she very professionally sticks out her hand and says “I’m Ruth.” Stevie knows for sure. She knows her heart hurts and there’s no escape and this day cannot end fast enough.
